Peter's Chinese Cafe
Food was absolutely awful. Orange chicken was NOT orange chicken— it’s missing the sweet, tangy orange flavor. It’s pretty much fried chicken pieces. Fried rice is white rice with a dash of soy sauce for color— no vegetables or egg. Egg roll is most definitely PF Chang’s frozen egg rolls out of the box— 100%. Shacha chicken had decently cooked veggies but was not as described. Will most definitely NOT be returning here.
I walked in to order takeout on a day I didn’t realize they were busy and only doing pickup/delivery orders. They still took my order and got me my food quickly and without complaint. It was my first time getting food from Peter’s and I stopped in on the way home from being out and about. The food was delicious but even if it had just been good, the courtesy I was shown when I stopped in would still have me coming back.
Duk Kee Chinese Restaurant Inc
5/10/2025 @ 2:45pm. I door dashed an order from Duk Kee for me and the wifey. I've been a long-time customer of their establishment. I have not been disappointed before but today. I couldn't believe it. I order $85 dollars of food. 1 order Lok Fun, 1 order char siu,1 order honey walnut shrimp and I was supposed to get a buy 1 get 1 free gau gee. Didn't receive that but paid for 2 orders. If I had known, I would've just paid 18 for the 10 pcs instead of 25.99. I understand inflation but not being ripped off. 10pcs of honey walnut shrimp for $25 and then charged $26 for a deal that I surely didn't get. Sad because I was bragging to my wife how good the food is and reasonably priced. Only for her to look at me disappointed when she opened the containers and we still hungry 2 hours later.
First return to this Kaimuki institution in roughly 20 years 📆 Food was tasty, not bland so I don't know why other reviews said so. My family arrived 7:30 on a Tues night and one of three dine-in tables. A steady stream of takeout orders and one Doordash pickup. Waitress says the kitchen closes at 8:30 and if there are no customers left, the dining room will also close 8:30 pm so get your order in before then.
