About Zhu Ji Dumpling House

Located at the same address as Ming Wei, 40-52 Main St in the vibrant Flushing neighborhood of Queens, New York, Zhu Ji Dumpling House offers a distinct experience within the local Chinese culinary scene. As a Chinese Restaurant, Zhu Ji Dumpling House appears to specialize in dumplings, offering them at a very competitive price point, as highlighted by customer reviews.

One enthusiastic reviewer described Zhu Ji Dumpling House as a "super skibidi place," emphasizing the deliciousness ("scrumptious") and satisfyingly filling nature of the dumplings. This reviewer also specifically mentioned the chili sauce available, noting its "zesty flavor," which significantly enhanced their dining experience. The overall tone of this review suggests a highly positive impression of the food quality and taste.

Another customer provided a more detailed and balanced perspective. They confirmed the speed of service, noting that the food arrived "very fast." They also corroborated the affordability of the menu, specifically mentioning the price of 10 dumplings for $5 and 2 spring rolls for $1.50. This pricing suggests that Zhu Ji Dumpling House aims to provide budget-friendly options for those seeking Chinese cuisine in the area.

However, this second reviewer also pointed out some areas for potential improvement. They found the dumplings to be "a little too salty" and the spring rolls to be "pretty cold." Furthermore, they noted the absence of complimentary condiments such as soy sauce or chili for takeout orders. Despite these criticisms, the reviewer concluded that the food was "pretty good for its low price" and indicated a willingness to return in the future. This suggests that while there might be some inconsistencies in food preparation or accompanying items, the value proposition remains attractive to some customers.

Zhu Ji Dumpling House can be reached at the phone number (718) 353-6265 or the mobile phone number +1 718-353-6265 for inquiries or orders. Situated on Main Street in Flushing, it shares the same location as Ming Wei, indicating a potentially bustling hub for Chinese eateries. This location is likely easily accessible to local residents and those visiting the area.

Considering the available customer feedback, Zhu Ji Dumpling House stands out for its focus on dumplings and its remarkably affordable pricing. The positive comments regarding the taste and filling nature of the dumplings, along with the appealing cost, are significant advantages. However, potential customers should be aware of the reported issues concerning the saltiness of the dumplings, the temperature of the spring rolls, and the lack of included condiments for takeout. The fast service is a definite plus for those looking for a quick meal.

For local users in Flushing and the surrounding areas seeking a budget-friendly Chinese restaurant specializing in dumplings, Zhu Ji Dumpling House presents a compelling option. The enthusiastic recommendation from one reviewer regarding the "scrumptious" dumplings and the zesty chili sauce suggests that certain aspects of their menu are particularly well-received. The detailed feedback from another customer provides a more nuanced view, highlighting both the strengths (price, speed) and weaknesses (saltiness, temperature, missing condiments) of their offerings.

As with any restaurant, individual experiences may vary. We encourage local users to consider the provided feedback and perhaps try Zhu Ji Dumpling House for themselves to form their own opinions on the quality, service, and overall value. The focus on dumplings and the attractive pricing could make it a worthwhile visit for those craving this particular Chinese staple in the Flushing area. It might be beneficial to inquire about the availability of condiments when placing an order, especially for takeout.

Food came very fast and it was very cheap. 10 dumplings for $5 and 2 spring rolls for $1.50. However I thought the dumplings were a little too salty and the spring rolls were pretty cold. And it didn’t come with any soy sauce or chili to go with it. But the food was pretty good for its low price. I’d go back.

Talk about a different kind of fast food experience! Zhu Ji isn't like your typical restaurant. There's no actual storefront, meaning no place to sit or go inside. You order outside at the side of a building. It can be a little chaotic when ordering since pedestrians are actively walking through, but you just have to make sure to stay out of the way of the foot traffic and be assertive when you're waiting to order. A lot of locals will order and converse with the workers in Mandarin, but don't be intimidated if you don't speak the language. You can order just fine using English, and they have English on the menu next to the Chinese. I'd say just don't get too complicated with the order or your demands if you're not fluent. We ordered our food to go and only had to wait about 5 minutes to receive everything. You can't beat these prices, the speed, and the taste of Zhu Ji. I also highly recommend asking for chili oil and black vinegar, especially for the dumplings or scallion pancake. If you're looking to make a meal out of $10 in New York City, I highly recommend making a stop by Zhu Ji Dumpling House!

This place is tucked off the main street and can be a little hard to find, so look for the red awning. I only had their pan fried bao there, which was $2.50, for 4! That's incredibly cheap and it's so hard to beat the value. That's not the only thing that's cheap there either so there's not much you're losing for just trying the food. The price aside, I thought the dough was a bit thick and doughy for 生煎包, the pan fried bun but this isn't a big issue. The meat filling was porky and flavorful, the buns soft and warm, perfect for the cold. Be aware however that they have no seating in or out so it's mainly a takeout place or somewhere to eat on the streets.
