About Zhang's Chinese Kitchen

Zhang's Chinese Kitchen is a Chinese restaurant located at 2586 N 400 E St in North Ogden, Utah. Operating under the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant," it aims to provide Chinese cuisine to the local community. However, recent customer feedback available online presents extremely concerning accounts regarding the quality and safety of the food served at this establishment.

Based on the provided customer reviews, there is virtually no positive information regarding the environment of Zhang's Chinese Kitchen. One reviewer mentioned a "good first impression" upon stopping in for an early dinner, but this initial positive sentiment quickly deteriorated due to the food quality. There are no further descriptions of the restaurant's ambiance, cleanliness, or overall environment. Given the subsequent negative experiences with the food, any initial positive impressions of the environment appear to be overshadowed.

The services offered by Zhang's Chinese Kitchen include takeout, as indicated by one reviewer who placed a $130 order for their family. Another reviewer mentioned stopping in for an early dinner, suggesting that dine-in service might also be available. However, the focus of the provided feedback is overwhelmingly on the negative aspects of the food, rather than the efficiency or quality of the service itself. One reviewer did mention interacting with a server and a manager, but this interaction was in the context of addressing a complaint about the food quality and resulted in a negative outcome for the customer.

The features of Zhang's Chinese Kitchen, as described by recent customer experiences, are alarmingly negative and raise serious concerns about food quality and safety. One reviewer recounted a horrific experience with a $130 takeout order placed on April 18th for a family of six. They stated that it was "without a doubt, the worst food we’ve ever had," with none of their family members being able to eat past the first bite. The most disturbing part of this review is the description of the chicken having a "strong chemical taste, almost like it was fried in cleaning solution," and the shocking claim that "some pieces were even raw." The reviewer concluded with a strong warning: "Please, save your money and your stomach—DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE." This feedback indicates severe issues with food preparation, potential contamination, and a significant risk to customer health.

Another reviewer who dined in for an early dinner also reported extremely poor food quality. They described the "chicken" in their lo mein as being of the "lowest I’ve ever seen," suspecting it was not actual chicken but possibly "chicken fat." After only a few bites, this customer brought the issue to the attention of the server. The subsequent interaction with the manager was also negative, as the manager reportedly insisted that the customer pay full price for the inedible dish but offered to make something else. The fact that the customer was only given two alternative options after receiving such a poor initial meal is also concerning. This reviewer's negative experience was compounded by discovering that a soft drink cost $4, leading them to vow to "never return." This feedback highlights not only issues with food quality but also questionable customer service practices and potentially high pricing for beverages.

The specific dishes mentioned in these negative reviews include chicken (in general and in lo mein), and lo mein itself. The descriptions – "strong chemical taste," "raw," "lowest I’ve ever seen," and possibly "chicken fat" instead of chicken – are deeply troubling and suggest severe problems with ingredient quality and food preparation at Zhang's Chinese Kitchen. The overall sentiment of both reviews is one of extreme dissatisfaction and a strong recommendation against eating at this establishment.

There is no information available in the provided customer reviews regarding any promotional offers or special deals that Zhang's Chinese Kitchen might be running. Given the severity of the negative feedback concerning food quality and safety, any potential promotions would likely be overshadowed by these critical concerns.

In conclusion, the recent customer feedback for Zhang's Chinese Kitchen in North Ogden, UT, located at 2586 N 400 E St, is overwhelmingly negative and raises serious alarms about the quality and safety of their food. Both reviewers described their meals as inedible, with one reporting a chemical taste and raw chicken, and the other questioning the very nature of the "chicken" in their lo mein. The customer service response to these significant issues also appears to be inadequate. Potential local users should take this feedback extremely seriously and exercise extreme caution before considering ordering from or dining at Zhang's Chinese Kitchen. The strong recommendations to avoid this restaurant due to concerns for health and financial loss cannot be ignored.

For local residents in the North Ogden area seeking Chinese food, the recent reviews for Zhang's Chinese Kitchen present significant and concerning information. The reported issues of chemical tastes, raw chicken, questionable ingredients, and poor customer service are not typical and should prompt potential customers to seek alternative options. The severity of the negative experiences suggests a fundamental problem with the restaurant's food quality and safety standards. It would be prudent for those looking for a safe and enjoyable Chinese meal to consider other establishments in North Ogden with more positive and reliable recent feedback. The strong warnings from multiple customers to avoid Zhang's Chinese Kitchen should be a primary consideration for anyone in the area looking for Chinese cuisine.

We ordered takeout on 4/18 and spent $130 for our family of six—and it was, without a doubt, the worst food we’ve ever had. None of us could get past the first bite. The chicken had a strong chemical taste, almost like it was fried in cleaning solution, and some pieces were even raw. Everything was just awful. Please, save your money and your stomach—DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.

I stopped into this place for an early dinner. First impression was good. The food quality was about the lowest I’ve ever seen. I’m pretty sure the “chicken” in my lo mein wasn’t chicken, maybe chicken fat. After eating 2-3 bites I told the server. The manager came and told me that I had to pay full price but would make me something else. I asked for a dish and they came back and gave me two options. After seeing that the soft drink was $4. I vowed to never return.

They did ok on the rice and noodles but the orange chicken was dry and undercooked. Poor flavor all around. But the wait staff was extremely professional.

Got food from this place, wanted to try it out, but I didn't look at reviews before doing so. The food isn't horrible, a lot of people in the reviews are saying how "terrible" and "unpalatable" it is, but I don't fully agree. I got the orange chicken, and I found it alright. Though you don't have to take my word for it, I'm not a professional chef or anything, but I can definitely imagine worse. But something a lot of the reviews have in common was sadly proven true: the texture of the chicken. It's pretty rubbery and stringy, not a very pleasant texture to chew and tastes just a little funny. Again, it's not the worst thing ever, but I see why a lot of reviews are so upset about it for just how much they charge. If they cooked the chicken properly, I could see this being a really good place I'd recommend to friends. Sadly though, it's very mid. I could only ever see myself ordering again if I was hankering for Chinese food and Panda Express was closed (again). Sorry for leaving a not so stellar review.

This is some pretty good Chinese food. Really big fan of the Szechuan chicken and they have really good sized portions. The food was demolished before I could get any good pictures.
