Zen Chinese Bistro

We chose Zen Chinese Bistro to celebrate our large Staff Christmas Dinner and we were so happy we did! The food was absolutely delicious and brought out in a timely manner all our guests loved the Huge variety of cuisine to enjoy as part of the family style dinner options! We had such a wonderful time on the second floor of the restaurant and had it all to ourselves. Our servers were Excellent and provided courteous and friendly service. Anything that was needed our guests were immediately tended to! We brought our own selection of holiday music. We truly enjoyed amazing food, cocktails and great company! Delicious flavors, excellent portions and wonderful customer service. Great selection of cocktails and beers. The restaurant is beautiful and elegant on the inside. We highly recommend and will be one of our go to Chinese restaurants in Portland! We highly recommend Zen Chinese Bistro for your next dinner party or holiday staff party!! All our guests loved the delicious food and festive location to commemorate a special occasion!!

I have lived in Portland my entire life and had never been here. We came in and decided to dine in. The resturant is so nice and well decorated. The bar area is beautiful. The service was fantastic, and the food was phenomenal. The portions are also very large, it was nice to have left overs for lunch the next day. Will definitely be back!

We’ve had a great experience with food delivery and it’s been delicious. Teriyaki chicken, Pan fried pork dumplings and Chicken with ginger and scallion are also favorites (ordered spicy). Love that brown rice is an option. Most items are GF.

I came here to buy sesame beef. You can have it with white rice or brown rice. The portion is great and it's also very delicious. They open every day for take outs and deliveries but dine-in is available only 4 days a week after 5 pm.

During our visit to Portland, we decided to satisfy our craving for Chinese food at Zen Chinese Bistro. Our order included the Crispy Rice & Chicken Soup, Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, both served with white rice, and a side of egg rolls to go. The Crispy Rice & Chicken Soup was delightful, and the Kung Pao Chicken was decent. However, the Orange Chicken left much to be desired – it was hard, dry, and the sauce didn't live up to our expectations. Overall, our dining experience was average. The ambiance of the restaurant felt a little lackluster, and the cleanliness was subpar, which detracted from the overall dining atmosphere. While our visit didn't meet all of our expectations, it's worth noting that the soup and Kung Pao chicken were highlights of the meal. It's possible that others may have different experiences, and we hope that the restaurant can address the issues we encountered. In conclusion, if you decide to dine at Zen Chinese Bistro, I recommend trying the soup and the Kung Pao chicken, but you might want to be cautious when ordering the Orange Chicken.
