Zao Asian Cafe

I love eating here! The chicken rice bowl with yellow curry is my favorite but I've had their salad and their soup as well and those were good too. Make sure you get it the Zao way so you get it will all the toppings.

I went to Zao tonight for dinner. The guys behind the counter were super helpful and friendly. My son got the teriyaki chicken rice bowl and completely devoured it and he’s a picky eater. I got the banh mi chicken wrap, it had so many layers of good, fresh flavors. We will definitely be back.

I was really craving Asian food and my friend had recommended this place. I got one of their bowls with Yaki soba noodles and steak. The flavor is really good and I really enjoyed my food. I think it’s hard to find a place that has all the flavors well balanced and this place has got them. Their drinks are really good. I tried the Thai Mango and really enjoyed it. However, I do feel the portions are small for the price I paid. I paid over $15 for the bowl and a fountain drink. I didn’t get full with the bowl and I’m a pretty small person. So if you’re really hungry this might not be the place for you. The girl preparing my bowl was so greedy. She literally picked only three small cilantro leaves for my bowl. I would go back if they weren’t so greedy. Maybe it was just my bad luck with the person serving that day at that time.

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a while now. Ordering was fine and went quickly. I ordered a bowl with noodles, broccoli and chicken with teriyaki sauce. I wish I could say it was delicious. It was actually extremely unpleasant and nearly unpalatable. The broccoli and noodles were burned so badly the taste of the entire bowl was ruined. I couldn't taste anything other than that, even with extra sauce. We came around 8:30 on a Friday. About 5 bites in, I decided I couldn't eat the meal and spoke to a staff member who apologized and was very friendly, but said they were closing and couldn't remake the meal because they were cleaning equipment. We left disappointed and felt like it was a waste of money.

The food is great, but the service was crap. We brought our family of 5. All 5 of us got meals and they were dead on a Saturday night… the employees were rude, weren’t friendly, just kept giving my kids dirty looks. We won’t be back at this location. Updated: tried again and still the worst service I have experienced. Waited 30 min for drive thru food and then the person taking my card rolled her eyes at me.
