From the very minute, I walked in. I was greeted with not only a warm smile, but a genuine appreciation. The atmosphere is very modern, but the relaxed way you feel once you sit down, certainly embraces you to a good time. The small plates, appetizers, and the rest of the menu have an amazing variety to it. I would highly encourage trying new things because I was surprised at every return. The wood ear and mint salad was awesome, as was the dumplings, and to finish it off the fried tofu had a really great flavor to it. While my eyes were bigger than my stomach, I would definitely go back to try the many other things they have on their menu I will definitely be back.

We first tried this place for Valentine’s Day dinner and the service was exceptional! Every member of the staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. The atmosphere was lovely with dim lighting, modern furniture, and clear views of the kitchen. My only complaint is that the quality of the pork belly skewers and the prime steak bao buns was extremely fatty. Both of them were about 50% fat and to me basically inedible. However the chocolate cheesecake and twice fried potatoes were incredible, would definitely get those again and try other dishes.
Wonderful spot, highly recommend for dinner, lunch, or even just cocktails. The noodle flavors were bold, craft, and unique. The cocktails were outstanding and had such clever integration of Chinese ingredients. The manager M is highly attentive and made our experience very memorable. - Noodles: Beef Beef Lu 9/10 - Drinks: Rice rocket 9/10, Old fashioned (not on menu) 10/10, Gin-fruit drink (on menu, can't remember name) 9/10.
Not the place I would have picked to open up in my neighborhood… Yunnan has a great atmosphere, clean interior and friendly staff. However, the food was mediocre, especially considering the price. $30 for a “two person serving” which is very much a normal sized serving at any other noodle shop. The pork noodle bowl I ate was very neutral in flavor and the broth was… more watery than broth-y. Drinks are pricey as well ($10 for the nonalcoholic juices… like grape juice!). The Bao Buns were the only saving grace of my experience - delicious and a hefty serving. I pry won’t be coming back… maybe I’ll try Yunnan for lunch specials, but it’s a competitive food space in Arlington and I’d rather spend my dining out dollars elsewhere.
