About Yung's Chinese
Yung's Chinese Restaurant, located at 2170 W Drake Rd in Fort Collins, Colorado, offers a range of Chinese dishes primarily for takeout and delivery, as indicated by customer reviews referencing orders placed through Uber Eats. While the restaurant may have a presence on delivery platforms with seemingly positive ratings, a closer examination of direct customer feedback reveals a more nuanced picture, particularly concerning the quality of certain dishes and the overall dining experience.
One customer's experience, prompted by seemingly good reviews on Uber Eats, led to immediate disappointment upon receiving their order. They had ordered two types of fried rice (shrimp and plain), Lo Mein noodles, Crab Rangoons, and Buddha Delight. This reviewer, with extensive experience in Chinese cuisine across various states, found the quality to be notably poor, so much so that they felt compelled to write a review immediately. They were surprised to find a 3-star rating on Google Reviews, suggesting that the Uber Eats ratings might not accurately reflect the general customer sentiment.
The most significant criticism in this review was directed at the fried rice. The customer described it as the worst they had ever had, lacking the typical rich brown color, visible egg and onion, and savory flavor usually associated with fried rice. Instead, it was pale white with very small pieces of egg and a bland, oily taste. Attempting to improve the flavor with the included soy sauce proved futile, as they received only two small packets for a large order, resulting in dry but barely edible rice even after adding more ingredients at home. This strongly suggests a deficiency in the preparation of a staple Chinese dish.
In contrast, the reviewer found the Buddha's Delight and the Lo Mein noodles to be "ok," indicating a neutral assessment of these dishes. The Crab Rangoons, however, were rated as "really good," suggesting that Yung's Chinese might have some dishes that are well-received. This highlights a potential inconsistency in the quality across their menu.
Based on their experience, this customer concluded that the 3-star rating on Google was justified and stated they would not order from Yung's Chinese again. This negative feedback underscores significant issues with the preparation and flavor of at least one key dish, the fried rice, and raises questions about the overall consistency of their food quality.
Another customer shared an even more negative experience, stating that they gave Yung's Chinese two tries and would not be returning. Their primary complaint was about the Mongolian beef, which they described as being "more like Mongolian vegetables with barely any beef and watery bland sauce." This indicates a problem with the proportion of ingredients and the flavor profile of another popular Chinese dish. Additionally, they reported that the fried rice was "gray and not appetizing at all," lacking vegetables or egg, further reinforcing the concerns about the quality of this dish.
This second reviewer was so dissatisfied that they explicitly stated they would not recommend Yung's Chinese to visitors. They also recounted an interaction with the manager after expressing their dissatisfaction, during which they were reportedly denied a refund and offered store credit instead. The reviewer questioned the logic of accepting store credit from a place with "horrible food," highlighting a potential issue with their customer service approach in handling complaints. This negative interaction further compounds the poor impression of the restaurant.
Considering these two detailed reviews, Yung's Chinese in Fort Collins appears to have significant challenges in consistently delivering high-quality Chinese cuisine. The repeated complaints about the fried rice, a fundamental dish in Chinese restaurants, are particularly concerning. The issues with the Mongolian beef, including a lack of meat and a bland sauce, also point to shortcomings in their preparation of other popular items. While the Crab Rangoons received positive feedback from one reviewer, this single positive note is overshadowed by the more substantial criticisms.
The environment of Yung's Chinese is not explicitly described in these reviews, as both customers ordered for delivery via Uber Eats. Therefore, it is difficult to comment on the ambiance or cleanliness of the physical restaurant location. The service aspects mentioned are primarily related to the delivery experience (promptness by Uber Eats, which is not directly attributable to the restaurant itself) and the handling of a complaint by the restaurant manager, which was perceived negatively by the customer.
In terms of features, Yung's Chinese seems to offer a standard menu of American Chinese dishes, including fried rice, noodles (Lo Mein), various meat and vegetable stir-fries (Mongolian beef, Buddha Delight), and appetizers (Crab Rangoons). Their availability on platforms like Uber Eats suggests they cater to the delivery market. However, the quality of these offerings appears to be inconsistent based on the provided feedback.
There is no promotional information mentioned in the reviews. The focus is entirely on the customers' experiences with the food and service. The fact that one reviewer was offered store credit instead of a refund could be seen as a form of customer service policy, but in this case, it was not well-received by the dissatisfied customer.
For local users in Fort Collins considering Yung's Chinese, these reviews serve as a cautionary tale. While the convenience of delivery through platforms like Uber Eats might be appealing, the reported issues with food quality, particularly the fried rice and Mongolian beef, are significant drawbacks. The negative experience with customer service regarding a complaint also raises concerns about how the restaurant handles dissatisfaction. If you are looking for reliable and consistently high-quality Chinese takeout or delivery in Fort Collins, it might be wise to consider other options based on this feedback. While one dish (Crab Rangoons) received praise, the overwhelming sentiment from these reviewers points to significant shortcomings in other key areas.

Customer Reviews
Ordered 2 types of fried rice (shrimp and plain), Lo Mein noodles, Crab Rangoons and Buddha Delight via Uber Eats. Uber Eats shows good reviews so we gave the place a chance. After growing up on Chinese food and trying many locations across multiple states, this was the first time that the quality prompted me to immediately put out a review. When I came to the Google reviews and saw 3 stars, it was clear that the Uber Eats ratings were likely fake or inflated. The fried rice is probably the worst I have ever had. It had no color or flavor. When I think of fried rice, I think of a rich brown color, egg, onion, and a nice salty flavor. This was pale white , had VERY small pieces of egg and a plain flavor that almost tasted like oil. My thought was to add the included soy sauce to see if that added some of the flavor that was missing. Unfortunately for the order of our size, we received literally 2 soy sauce packets. So I ended up putting the rice in a pan, adding more egg, garlic salt, the 2 soy sauce packets and some green onion. It was still dry due to the small amount of soy sauce (moisture) being added, but it was at least edible. The Buddha's delight was ok as was the LoMein noodles. The Crab Rangoon were really good. I now see why the restaurant has 3 stars on Google and will not be ordering from them again.
I gave this place two trys and I will not be returning. The Mongolian beef was more like Mongolian vegetables with barely any beef and watery bland sauce. The fried rice was gray and not appetizing at all. With no vegetables or egg. I will not be recommending this place to visitors. After speaking with the manager I was advised I would not be refunded and I he offered me store credit. Why would anyone want store credit from a place with horrible food. Buyer be warned.
I picked up the Mongolian beef meal super delicious.I'm very happy with my meal. I've heard other people say that other Chinese food places had dry beif. And low reviews but this one it's almost five star meal.
Would not recommend ordering here at all. We ordered egg rolls, tofu pad Thai and pork chow mein using a coupon of 2 entrees for $20. Egg rolls were the only good thing we got in our order. Pad Thai didn’t taste bad per se but it definitely didn’t taste like pad Thai. Pork chow mein - the pork was freezer burnt, and there’s want much chow mein to eat… Small portions. The rice wasn’t good either in both meals. We would’ve been better off eating elsewhere…
0/10 (at least the sesame chicken) would not recommend. The chicken was really overcooked, if there was any chicken at all! It tasted like a brick dipped in high fructose corn syrup. The sauce they used had so much sugar the sauce became like rock candy when it cooled down. I’m not the type of person to leave a review at places even when they screw up my order, but this place deserves this review because the food was just inedible. If I could deter just one person from having the same experience I did, then this review did it’s job
