Yummy Szechuan has quickly become a go-to destination for those seeking authentic dishes reminiscent of regional Chinese cooking. For patrons who have mourned the closure of their favorite spots serving this style of cuisine, Yummy Szechuan offers a promising and high-caliber alternative. Initial experiences have left customers thoroughly impressed, with one reviewer noting that other nearby options simply did not measure up to the quality found here.

The menu at Yummy Szechuan features a variety of well-executed dishes. The dandan noodles, a staple of Szechuan cuisine, have been particularly praised for hitting just the right notes, enhanced by a subtle touch of peanut sauce. The mapo tofu, another signature Szechuan dish, is described as very flavorful, boasting a balanced combination of heat and the characteristic numbing sensation from Sichuan peppercorns. The fish in chili oil is also a standout, with reviewers highlighting the generous amount of fish and its rich, satisfying flavor.

Recognizing the diverse palates of its clientele, Yummy Szechuan offers a blend of both Szechuan and Northern Chinese dishes. This allows diners to explore a wider range of flavors and culinary traditions within a single dining experience. While one reviewer, a dedicated spicy food enthusiast, found certain Szechuan dishes like the Spicy Pork Ear, Chongqing Spicy Chili Chicken, and Mao Xue Wang to be slightly milder than their preference, they still acknowledged the impressive flavors present in each dish.

For those who crave an extra kick, it's worth noting that the restaurant appears open to accommodating requests for increased spiciness. The reviewer who desired more heat suggested that asking for additional chili in these dishes could elevate the spice level to one's liking. This willingness to cater to individual preferences indicates a flexible and customer-oriented approach.

Beyond the food itself, Yummy Szechuan offers a pleasant dining environment characterized by a cozy atmosphere. This setting contributes to an overall enjoyable experience, making it a comfortable place to savor the rich and complex flavors of the dishes. Complementing the ambiance is the quick and efficient service, ensuring that diners can enjoy their meals without unnecessary delays.

Several dishes have emerged as highlights from customer experiences. The Toothpick Lamb With Cumin, The Salted Egg with Golden Sand Prawns, and The Chongqing Spicy Chili Chicken have all received positive mentions for their distinct and memorable flavors. Even for those who found the spice level of some dishes to be moderate, the underlying taste profiles were clearly impressive and enjoyable.

In terms of practicalities, Yummy Szechuan offers convenient parking options for its patrons. Street parking is available in the vicinity of the restaurant, and there is also a small parking lot located behind the establishment. This accessibility makes it easier for both local residents and visitors to dine at the restaurant without the hassle of searching extensively for parking.

The positive feedback from customers underscores Yummy Szechuan's commitment to providing authentic and flavorful Chinese cuisine. The willingness to return and explore more of the menu, as expressed by multiple reviewers, speaks volumes about the quality and appeal of the food and the overall dining experience. Whether you are a long-time enthusiast of Szechuan and Northern Chinese flavors or someone looking to discover the richness of these culinary traditions, Yummy Szechuan offers a compelling option in Millbrae.

In conclusion, Yummy Szechuan stands out as a Chinese restaurant in Millbrae that delivers on both flavor and experience. I've been looking for a restaurant serving this type of dishes since my favorite place closed. I went to a few places near me, but they were not at this caliber. Wow. Everything we ordered was delicious. Dandan noodles were just right with a touch of peanuts sauce. The mapo tofu was very flavorful with the right amount of heat and numbing spices. We also ordered the fish in chili oil. It had a lot of fish and again, it was very flavorful. There was street parking and a small parking lot behind the restaurant. I will definitely be going back to try the other items on the menu.

We tried a mix of Sichuan and Northern Chinese dishes at Yummy Szechuan, and the flavors were impressive. However, as a spicy food fan, I found the Spicy Pork Ear, Chongqing Spicy Chili Chicken, and Mao Xue Wang a bit milder than I prefer. If you're like me and love extra heat, consider asking for more chili in these dishes. Despite the spice level, the quick service, varied flavors, and cozy atmosphere made the experience enjoyable. The Toothpick Lamb With Cumin, The Salted Egg with Golden Sand Prawns, and The Chongqing Spicy Chili Chicken stood out, even if they weren't super spicy.

It was very busy and loud. The food and tea were good, but the service wasn't attentive.

The spicy food here is delicious and authentic, and the spicy fish fillet is so delicious that it is worth recommending! But not spicy home-cooked dishes, steamed buns and fried dumplings are too ordinary, and there is no aftertaste. The serving speed is quite fast, and the hygiene is not bad.

Amazingly delicious authentic Chinese restaurant with a wide range of varieties: Szechuan food, Beijing food, South Chinese golden crabs, Western China spicy chicken, and North China dumplings and buns, and perfect household dishes. Free tea is available. For customers who cannot accept spicy food, there are plenty of non-spicy choices and you even order less spicy for the spicy choices. Street parking is available during the weekends. Five star and will definitely revisit!
