About Yummy Noodle

Yummy Noodle was a "Chinese Restaurant" located at 9965 Ellis Ave, Fountain Valley, CA 92708, USA. Their phone number was (714) 916-0082 or +1 714-916-0082.

This establishment, which opened approximately three months prior to the initial review, specialized in Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles. Customers had the option to choose from three types of noodles: hand-pulled (fresh), knife-shaved, and wide noodles.

The dining space was noted to be quite spacious, and the service was generally quick. The staff was friendly and capable of speaking both Chinese and English, facilitating easy ordering.

Popular dishes included the Lanzhou Hand-Pulled Noodles, praised for the pairing of the fresh noodles with a flavorful broth and generous slices of beef. The Dan Dan Noodle was also well-received for its great flavor, generous portion size, and mild spice level. The Spicy Wontons in Chili Oil, though small, were considered tasty with a not overly spicy chili oil. The Steamed Chicken was also a liked item, with one customer ordering extra to-go.

However, the Shanghai Soup Dumplings were deemed average and not tasting handmade, thus not recommended. Additionally, while the Special Combo Chow Mein was flavorful, it was noted to be a bit light on vegetables and meats, with the option to add extra bok choy available. The Chinese pancakes were considered yummy, though local alternatives might offer larger servings. The dumplings and Chinese pancakes were generally fine and tasty, while the chow mein could sometimes be on the saltier side, with a recommendation to request adjusted sauce if preferred.

The interior of Yummy Noodle was described as fast food restaurant-like with bare concrete floors. A notable feature was the visible preparation of freshly-made, hand-pulled noodles behind a glass divider wall, suggesting a focus on fresh ingredients and traditional techniques. The food was considered to have a good, more authentic flavor compared to many American-Chinese restaurants, though it was noted that it wasn't a full-on traditional Chinese restaurant, so expectations should be tempered.

Important Update (as of March 2025): Reviews indicate that Yummy Noodle has been closed since the end of 2024. While equipment and tables were still visible in late March 2025, plastic sheets covered the windows, and there was no sign of the restaurant's operation or any indication of its status (temporary or permanent closure).

Exploring Yummy Noodle: A New Hand-Pulled Noodle restaurant in Fountain Valley Just a few streets away from my friend’s house in Fountain Valley, a new Lanzhou hand-pulled noodle restaurant called Yummy Noodle has opened about three months ago. Being a noodle lover, I decided to gather some friends and check it out. At Yummy Noodle, you can choose from three types of noodles: hand-pulled (fresh), knife shaved, and wide noodles. I went with the wide one for my Dan-Dan noodle, and I have to say, the texture was just perfect—chewy and satisfying. Our group of four ordered a variety of dishes, and overall, we enjoyed our order, especially considering the reasonable prices. However, I wouldn't recommend the Shanghai juicy dumplings, as they were quite average. what we ordered: - **Lanzhou Hand-Pulled Noodles ($15.49)**: Two of my friends chose the fresh hand-pulled noodles. They both loved how the noodles paired with the flavorful broth and the six slices of beef. - **Dan Dan Noodle ($12.99)**: The flavor was great, the portion was generous, and it wasn't spicy at all, which was a plus for me. - **Spicy Wontons in Chili Oil (10 pieces, $9.99)**: These were small in size but tasty, and the chili oil wasn’t too spicy, which made it quite enjoyable. - **Steamed Chicken ($9.99)**: I liked it and ordered an extra to-go and pair with some sliced cucumber. - **Shanghai Soup Dumplings (8 pieces, $11.99)**: These were pretty average and didn't taste handmade, so I wouldn't recommend this one. The dining space is quite spacious, and the food came out quickly. The staff was friendly and could speak Chinese and English, which made ordering easy. Given that there aren't many places like this around the area, I've already made a return visit! 📍Yummy Noodle 9965 Ellis Ave, Fountain Valley, CA 92708

03/25 Restaurant has been closed since end of 2024. At that time, you could still see in and the equipment and tables still present. Today, plastic sheets over the windows, no sign of existence. No idea if it's still temporarily closed or permanently. No sign indicating status. 10/24 Fast food restaurant-like interior with bare concrete floors. Freshly-made, hand-pulled noodles being made behind the glass divider wall. Food has a good taste versus many American-Chinese restaurants for the authentic flavor. That said, it's not a full-on Chinese restaurant, so temper expectations. For example, special combo chow mein was flavorful and tasty, but skimping a bit on the quantity of vegetables and meats. You can add extra bok choy, if you want. Or Chinese pancakes. Yummy, but there's local alternatives that have bigger servings. Dumplings and Chinese pancakes were perfectly fine and tasty. Chow mein a touch on the saltier side, so ask to adjust the amount of sauce if you prefer.

Great place to grab lunch with friends and family. Since the place is fairly new, there isn't a wait and there's plenty of parking in the plaza. The service is quick and friendly. Would highly recommend getting their refreshing cucumber salad and brisket noodle soup with knife shaved noodles. The knife shaved noodles is chewier and offers a new added texture to the classic dish.

Went to this place for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We were enticed by the hand made noodles in house which you don't get to see very often around these parts. Service was quick and very friendly. The food came out super fast. We had a little of everything, from dumplings, to fried rice to beef noodle soup. Everything was fantastic! We will definitely be back and highly encourage you to do the same! OH! THE SCALLION PANCAKES ARE DELICIOUS!

This is a hidden gem! Stopping here for some Chinese food but didn’t expect they had such good handpulled noodles. The lanzhou noodle is definitely a must try if you come alone and can eat spicy. They do the handpull/knife cut noodle show behind the glass kitchen. The noodle texture was very nice. Appetizers are good too. Servers can speak good English and Chinese.
