You can connect with them at (605) 338-6888 or their mobile number +1 605-338-6888 for reservations or inquiries. Based on enthusiastic customer reviews, Yummy House appears to offer a truly exceptional Chinese dining experience for local residents and visitors.
One reviewer proclaimed Yummy House as "the best!" Chinese food they have ever had, even daring others to challenge their assertion that it's the best in America. This customer's overwhelmingly positive experience highlights the "astonishingly delicious" nature of the food. A particularly memorable aspect for this reviewer was the opportunity to meet the 93-year-old chef, whose "decadent dishes" were lauded for their "perfection," leading the reviewer to express a desire to give an even higher rating than typically possible.
Another customer offered a more nuanced perspective, noting that the "entry and foyer are a little helter skelter" but strongly advised not to let this initial impression deter potential diners. This suggests that while the initial appearance might be unassuming, the culinary experience within is well worth it.
A particularly insightful review came from a traveler who stumbled upon Yummy House on Christmas Day, a time when few other establishments were open. Despite low initial expectations, this reviewer was pleasantly surprised by the authentic flavors and diverse offerings. They specifically recommended bypassing the "Americanized Chinese food like fried sweet and sour," suggesting that the true gems of Yummy House lie in its more traditional dishes.
This reviewer extensively sampled the dim sum and a couple of the entrees, with the "pork belly" receiving exceptional praise, described as "phenomenal" with a "fragrant" five-spice seasoning that evoked memories of authentic Malaysian Chinese cuisine. The dumplings were also highlighted for their delicate texture, described as "melting in your mouth," and the overall freshness of the food was commended.
Despite being short-staffed on a holiday, the service received high marks. The reviewer noted that a single attendant efficiently managed the entire dining room, serving multiple guests without faltering, indicating a high level of dedication and competence.
Based on these glowing testimonials, Yummy House distinguishes itself as a Chinese Restaurant that prioritizes authentic flavors and high-quality dishes. The emphasis on dishes like dim sum and the praised pork belly suggests a menu that goes beyond typical Americanized Chinese fare, offering a more genuine taste of Chinese culinary traditions. The mention of a 93-year-old chef adds a layer of heritage and expertise to the kitchen, potentially contributing to the exceptional quality reported.
While specific details about the environment beyond the "helter skelter" entry are limited, the positive comments about the food and service suggest that the focus is primarily on the dining experience itself. The cleanliness and overall ambiance are not explicitly mentioned, but the enthusiastic reviews imply a satisfactory setting for enjoying the acclaimed cuisine.
In terms of services, Yummy House likely offers standard Chinese restaurant services such as dine-in and takeout. Given the positive remarks about the service even understaffed conditions, it's reasonable to expect attentive and efficient service during regular operations. To ascertain if they offer delivery services or have specific hours of operation, contacting them directly via phone would be advisable.
The features of Yummy House that stand out based on the reviews are undoubtedly the authenticity and quality of their food, particularly the dim sum and the pork belly. The presence of a seasoned chef with decades of experience is also a significant feature that likely contributes to the exceptional taste and preparation of the dishes. The willingness to offer more traditional Chinese dishes alongside Americanized options caters to a broader range of palates while still showcasing their culinary expertise.

This place honestly is the best! I have had a lot of Chinese food in my life and let me tell you this place is absolutely astonishingly delicious! If you’re in Sioux Falls this place is a must! I am telling you it’s the best Chinese food in America change my mind I dare you! I got to meet the 93 year old chef that prepared absolutely decadent dishes thank you for your perfection! I wish I could give I higher rating
The entry and foyer are a little helter skelter but do not let this turn you away. On a road trip on Christmas found this to be one of the few places open and wasn't hoping for much, but was I wrong! They have a selection of Americanized Chinese food like fried sweet and sour, but save that for those that don't know what Chinese food is. I sampled several of the dim sum and tried a couple of the entrees. The pork belly was phenomenal. The five spice was fragrant, and reminded me of a Chinese dish I had in Malaysia. The dumplings melted in your mout, and everything was superbly fresh. As it was a holiday it was very short staffed. The attendant ran the whole room, serving multiple guests and didn't skip a single beat. If you love Chinese you have to make this a part of your dining experience.
It was our first time here and the food was so good! Loved every dish we got! Definitely recommend the steamed pork buns! Our waiter was very nice. The only downsides to our visit was that it was very warm inside the restaurant, granted it was 93 degrees outside today but I don’t think there was any AC inside the restaurant. It was uncomfortably warm and humid inside. Even ceiling and/or standing fans would’ve helped. Also, I don’t think the prices on the menu were all up to date because our bill came out to quite a bit more than we were expecting given the prices we saw on the menu. We just paid our bill though and didn’t question it. We will definitely come back again but probably on a cooler temperature day.
I was excited to try all the different dumplings as they're my favorite food. Unfortunately more than half the menu is unavailable. The duck was good. Everything else was very average. I can make better dumplings at home.
I have been wanting to eat dimsum for some time, but whenever im in a city, i always miss it since it's already after 3pm. First time in Sioux Falls and only here for the night. I called and said they were open till 930pm, but when we got there at 830pm, they were closed, so we knocked. I know sometimes business close early if there are no customers. So better call and let them know ur coming. They let us in! I was surprised by the dimsum choices they had! (No more shark fin though). I know people want fast service but if it's not sunday morning or busy day.. they have to cook it and it takes time. I can say this is one of the best dimsum places I've ever eaten in the country (with their prices?! Yes!!) My husband even said i was enjoying the food a lot. Too bad im only here for 1 night. I also love the people here, i felt bad coming in when they already closed but they were very happy to accommodate us and friendly! The tea was also good. I believe it was jasmine.
