Yummy Garden

My corona was passed the best by date… and they just didn’t even bring me a new one? I had to get up to ask if I could grab a different one. She said “no corona” and I asked if they were all bad… she said yes. They didn’t charge me for the expired one but I was kinda expecting them to give me a beer on the house considering I drank nearly half an expired beer before I saw the date… first time going had coworkers suggest it multiple times. Don’t think I’ll go back

My wife and I just came back from Yummy Garden and the food was very, very good. Started off with a pot of Hot Tea and the wife had a Mai Tai. I had Hot & Sour Soup and for apps we had Peking Ravioli ( Potsticker ) Pan Fried and an order of Chicken Fingers each of the apps were cooked to perfection. The entrees were Shrimp and Lobster Sauce ( Brown Lobster Sauce ) I asked for it to be served over a bed of Pan Fried Noodles and they had no problem accommodating that request and my wife had the Chicken Lo Mein. Each were cooked perfectly and we had plenty to take home with us. The restaurant itself could use some updating but is nice and clean with attentive waitstaff.

It’s definitely a hidden gem with food obviously made from scratch and with care. Absolutely delicious and this will be our new favorite place!

I am reluctant to write this because for a long time I truly enjoyed the Yummy Garden. The drinks were well crafted and the food was good. The last couple of visits I have noticed that the portions have shrunk. The meat is dried up and has little to no flavor. This has been n for 3 visits now. I'm not sure I will try for a 4th. Like I said; "The Yummy" has been a go to in Barre for at least 20 years for me. In fact I have ridden out there from Shrewsbury just for dinner. I don't think I would cross the street right about now. Sorry.

Food appeared to be precooked and reheated. Trust my review or toss away $50. I never write reviews, so for me to write one two weeks after the fact, well that’s got to tell you something.
