About Yummy BBQ

Located at 18489 Colima Rd in Rowland Heights, California, Yummy BBQ operates as an Asian restaurant that falls under the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant." They can be contacted at (626) 269-0609 or via mobile at +1 626-269-0609. Customer reviews provide a somewhat contrasting view of this establishment, highlighting both potential drawbacks and positive aspects of the dining experience.

One customer who purchased takeout on two separate occasions expressed significant dissatisfaction with the half roast duck they received. According to this reviewer, approximately 70% of the dish consisted of duck neck and bones, with very little meat. Despite this, the price charged was around $18 for half a duck, leading the customer to label this business practice as "outright deceiving." Furthermore, this reviewer also found the staff's attitude to be impatient and unfriendly, resulting in a firm decision not to return to the restaurant.

In contrast, another customer who dined in for lunch had a more positive experience. This reviewer ordered fried green beans, crispy beef noodle, and a half roast duck. During their order, the waitress informed them about a promotional offer: if their order exceeded $50, they would receive a complimentary dish, applicable only for dine-in customers. Consequently, they added an order of tofu to their meal and received a free order of salt and pepper shrimp. This suggests that Yummy BBQ does offer promotional incentives for dine-in customers who meet a certain spending threshold.

Regarding the food itself, the dine-in customer reported that the taste was good, expressing their intention to return to the restaurant in the future. This indicates that while there might be issues with the value and meat-to-bone ratio in the takeout roast duck, the overall flavor profile of the dishes can be satisfactory for some diners.

Based on these two reviews, it's evident that the experience at Yummy BBQ can be inconsistent. Potential customers should be aware of the reported issue with the takeout portion of the half roast duck, which seems to be a significant concern for at least one patron. The negative feedback regarding the staff's attitude is also a point to consider, as service can greatly impact the overall dining experience.

On the other hand, the positive review from the dine-in customer suggests that the food quality can be enjoyable, and the existence of a promotional offer (a free dish for dine-in orders over $50) might be appealing to those planning to eat at the restaurant. The fact that this customer intends to return indicates a positive overall impression, at least for their specific dining experience.

Information about the restaurant's environment is not explicitly provided in these reviews. However, the mention of a dine-in promotion implies that Yummy BBQ does have a physical dining space. Local users might want to visit the location to assess the ambiance and cleanliness for themselves if considering dining in.

In terms of services, Yummy BBQ offers both takeout and dine-in options. The promotional offer mentioned is specifically for dine-in customers. It is unclear if they offer other services such as delivery or catering. The feature of a potential promotional dish for qualifying dine-in orders could be attractive to some customers, but it's essential to be aware of the reported issues with the takeout portions of certain items.

For local users in Rowland Heights looking for a Chinese restaurant, Yummy BBQ presents a mixed bag of feedback. If you are considering dining in and spending over $50, you might benefit from their free dish promotion and potentially enjoy the taste of their food, as one reviewer did. However, if you are primarily interested in takeout, particularly the roast duck, the experience of at least one customer suggests a significant risk of receiving a disproportionate amount of bones and neck with minimal meat for the price.

Given the contrasting experiences, it might be prudent for potential customers to exercise caution and perhaps inquire about the portion sizes and meat content of specific dishes, especially the roast duck, before placing an order, particularly for takeout. Visiting the restaurant in person to gauge the environment and staff demeanor might also be a helpful step before deciding to dine in.

In conclusion, Yummy BBQ in Rowland Heights offers Chinese cuisine with both dine-in and takeout services. While one customer found the takeout portion of the roast duck to be deceptively small and the staff unfriendly, another enjoyed their dine-in experience, highlighting the good taste of the food and benefiting from a promotional offer. Local users should consider these differing perspectives and potentially investigate further to determine if Yummy BBQ meets their expectations for food quality, value, service, and dining environment.

I’ve bought takeout from this restaurant twice, and both times, the half roast duck they provided was about 70% duck neck and bones with hardly any meat. Yet, they still charge around $18 for half a duck. This way of doing business is outright deceiving customers. On top of that, the staff’s attitude is impatient and unfriendly. I won’t be coming back!

Came for lunch today. Ordered fried green beans, crispy beef noodle, and a half roast duck. Waitress reminded us that if our order exceeds 50 bucks, we can get a free dish (for dine-in only). So we added an order of tofu, and received a free order of salt/pepper shrimp. Food tastes good, and I sure will come back again.

Every single plate here is excellent and price is very reasonable. Especially afternoon tea $10 with tea and full plate of rice or noodle or wonton soup. I love their roasted bbq pork, super crispy. They will ask if you like less fat or regular one, all of them excellent. I come here almost everyday to buy food so that I do not have to cook after busy day working

Im not sure why this place has a weird rating, I ordered uber eats and was so good I decided to visit the restaurant- very clean and the owner was very friendly to get me what I wanted. I have not had a bad dish here, price is good and the food is good quality and most of all tasty! especially the bbq duck and the fillet mignon with mushroom, oh and their cold lemon tea is great!

The food is good but they need some work on service. The waitress is reluctant to give us the table for 4 when i only dine with my husband. I have to ascertain her that i will order at least 3 dishes before she released the table for 4 people to us.
