About Yum Cha Restaurant

Yum Cha Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located at 4945 W Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89103, USA. They can be contacted at (702) 778-3018 or +1 702-778-3018.

This restaurant offers a wide variety of dim sum, including a notable selection of vegetarian options, which is considered a positive feature compared to typical dim sum offerings. Customers have tried dishes such as Shu Mai, Pork Spare Ribs, Crispy Taro Pancake, Baked BBQ Pork Bun, Beef Rice Noodle, and Golden Sand Lava Custard Bun.

The Golden Sand Lava Custard Bun is highlighted as an exceptionally delicious standout dish, highly recommended by at least one server. Other dishes received mixed reviews. While some, like the Shumai and shrimp noodle roll (with its perfect sauce), were enjoyed, others, such as the shrimp dumpling (noted as very dry) and the tofu skin roll (drenched in sauce with an unfavorable combination), were less satisfactory. The radish cake was also not well-received by one customer.

Service experiences appear to vary. While some encounters were described as minimal to average, one customer was pleasantly surprised by a very sweet lady, possibly the manager, who provided excellent service. The use of paper plates was mentioned as a downside by one reviewer.

Overall, Yum Cha Restaurant is noted for its potential and its offering of a diverse range of dim sum, including vegetarian choices. The Golden Sand Lava Custard Bun is a highly recommended item. However, food quality seems to be inconsistent across different dishes, and service can vary. The restaurant is also mentioned as being very cheap for the amount of food received, which might be a significant factor for some diners.

Overall, this spot has potential! While the service can vary from minimal to average, this time we were pleasantly surprised by a very sweet lady who seemed to be the manager. I appreciate that they offer a wide variety of vegetarian dim sum, which is a nice change from the usual offerings at dim sum restaurants. Everything we ordered was quite good, but one downside was that they used paper plates. Here’s what we tried: - Shu Mai - Pork Spare Ribs - Crispy Taro Pancake - Baked BBQ Pork Bun - Beef Rice Noodle - Golden Sand Lava Custard Bun Most items were typical and nothing overly extraordinary, except for the Golden Sand Lava Custard Bun. It was absolutely delicious! Although it’s not something I would typically order, our sweet server highly recommended it, and I'm so glad we listened. It was a standout dish that I can't stop raving about!

I’m going to be honest, although their service was great, their food was hit and miss. I loved their Shumai and shrimp noodle roll (which I’m usually very picky about). The sauce was perfect amount of sweetness. But when I took a bite of their shrimp dumpling, it was very dry. Their tofu skin roll was drenched in sauce and something didn’t go well together. The last thing would be the radish cake, I could not finish it even though I was hungry. Sadly, I won’t be coming here again. Others may have had a better experience and maybe I came at a wrong time, I’m not sure. But it was very cheap for the amount of food we got. I guess it depends on what you value.

Dim sum is great here. Loved their pineapple custard buns. The salted fish chicken fried rice is so good too if you like some unique flavors, but it's not for everyone. I will definitely come back again if I am in Las Vegas in the future. Highly recommended.

Authentic and Delicious Dishes at Yum Cha! I loved the authentic dishes at Yum Cha and would definitely recommend trying their Custard Lava Buns. They’re absolutely delicious and usually made in limited quantities, so don’t miss out! If they’re not available, the Coconut Buns are a great alternative, as suggested by the staff. I learned that the Custard Lava Buns take about three hours to make—they’re fresh with a beautiful consistency and texture. We ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, Shrimp + Pork Shumai, Veggie Egg Noodles, Fried Shrimp Ball, and Golden Sand Lava Custard Bun. Every dish was incredibly tasty, and I highly recommend trying them all. It’s a shame I didn’t get to try more dim sum besides the Shumai, but there’s always next time. The prices are very reasonable, with dishes starting around $5.88, making it an affordable option for a delicious meal.

Just revisited Yum Cha, and the quality of food was consistent. The only negative is that many items are overpriced. Unfortunately, shrimp dumplings and fried dough wrapped with rice noodle were not available. Beef ball and egg tart are the best here. Staff here are professional, friendly and helpful. (Summer, 2023) I was recommended for the Dim Sum, so came here around 11:30. The chicken congee was good enough to warm up my stomach. Beef ball might be the best one I’ve ever had. The waitress was so friendly and nice. I will come back again when I visit Las Vegas:)
