About Yukai Japanese & Seafood Buffet

Yukai Japanese & Seafood Buffet is located at 1952 Laskin Rd #511, Virginia Beach, VA 23454, USA. Despite being listed under the Chinese Restaurant category, customer reviews indicate it is a Japanese and seafood buffet. They can be contacted at (757) 428-3330 or +1 757-428-3330.

Customer reviews of Yukai Japanese & Seafood Buffet present significantly different experiences. One reviewer found the exterior to be plain and almost industrial but was pleasantly surprised by the interior, which features a foyer with patio-like lighting and a flowing fish pond. The dining area was described as spacious and clean. The service was noted as friendly, with immediate seating, polite wait staff who provide a new set of chopsticks each time a customer returns to the buffet, and a whole carafe of tea upon request. This reviewer appreciated the variety of food, including sushi, desserts, and cooked dishes, and felt the price of around $20 per person was worth it for the variety and value.

In stark contrast, another reviewer described their experience as "by far the worst buffet" they had ever been to. They found the atmosphere nice initially, but the bathroom smelled of dirty dishwater and eggs. They noted that there was only one row of food, which they considered limited. This reviewer was highly upset that the staff allegedly refused to restock half the buffet bar to avoid food waste if no more customers arrived. They described the crab legs as very watery and rubbery, and the butter on the bar became thick within three minutes. Their request for more food to be added to the bar was met with a vague response about it coming out later. This customer paid $52 for three people (two kids and themselves). They also reported seeing many staff members coughing behind the food and stated they would not return, strongly advising others against going.

Based on these reviews, Yukai Japanese & Seafood Buffet in Virginia Beach appears to offer a mixed experience. While some customers appreciate the interior ambiance, friendly service, and variety of food at a reasonable price, others have reported significant issues with limited food selection, refusal to restock buffet items, poor quality seafood like watery and rubbery crab legs, unsanitary conditions such as a smelly bathroom and staff coughing near the food. Potential customers should consider these contrasting recent experiences.

From the outside the place looks plain, almost industrial. But when you enter, there is a foyer that is lit with lights like a patio, with flowing fish pond to the right. The dining area looks spacious and clean. The service was friendly (greetings as you enter), you get seated right away. Wait staff is friendly and polite, they give you new set of chopsticks each time you go Back to buffet for more. I asked for tea, I was given a whole carafe! There's a variety of food - sushi, desserts, cooked foods, etc. Price is around $20 per person. Worth it for variety and value.

By far the worst buffet i ever been to. Let’s start by the restaurant itself. The atmosphere was nice except the bathroom smells like dirty dish, water, and eggs.. Also, there’s only one row of food, which is not much. The food was terrible, and I was highly upset when I Came in and went to the buffet. They refused to restock half the bar because they didn’t want the food to go to waste in case no other customers came in. I got the crab legs, which were very watery and rubbery. I got the butter from the bar and under 3 minutes. The butter became thick like mashed potatoes. I asked my waitress if she would be able to accommodate me with more food on the bar and she told me it will be out there later. I paid for three people $52 two were kids and myself. Many of the staff were coughing Behind the food!!! I will not be going back. I HIGHLYc suggest you DONT GO!!

They have large selections of seafoods (dungeones crabs, snow crab legs, blue crabs, deep fried shrimps, and fresh oysters) and Korean BBQ ribs, and many more. All for just $23.99 (holiday price). Satisfied!
