About Yu's China Bistro

Welcome to Yu's China Bistro, a notable establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, conveniently situated at 32 Broad St Rd in Manakin-Sabot, Virginia, just outside of Short Pump. According to customer feedback, Yu's China Bistro offers a pleasant surprise with its quality food and convenient services, making it a great local spot for those craving Chinese cuisine.

One of the frequently mentioned positives about Yu's China Bistro is the quality of their food. Customers have reported being "pleasantly surprised" by the taste and overall satisfaction of their meals. This suggests that Yu's China Bistro is committed to providing flavorful dishes that meet and even exceed expectations. Furthermore, the restaurant is recognized for its good portion sizes, ensuring that customers feel they receive ample food for their order, offering good value for their money.

For those looking for a midday meal, Yu's China Bistro offers lunch specials daily from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM. This is a significant feature for local users who work or reside in the area and are seeking an affordable and tasty lunch option. The availability of daily lunch specials indicates a commitment to catering to the lunchtime crowd with potentially discounted prices or special menu items.

In terms of services, Yu's China Bistro provides multiple convenient ways to order. Customers have the option to order online, offering a seamless and efficient way to browse the menu and place their orders from the comfort of their homes or offices. Additionally, phone ordering is available for those who prefer to speak directly with the restaurant staff to place their orders or ask any questions they may have. This flexibility in ordering methods caters to a wide range of customer preferences and technological comfort levels.

One particular dish that has garnered positive attention is the General Tso's chicken. A repeat customer specifically mentioned that it is "always on point" and praised the delicious sauce, so much so that they always order extra sauce. This consistent quality of a popular dish like General Tso's chicken highlights Yu's China Bistro's ability to prepare well-loved classics to a high standard. The willingness of the customer to order extra sauce suggests that the flavor profile of this dish is particularly appealing.

While the majority of the feedback is positive, one customer did express a minor disappointment regarding the spring rolls. Unlike what they had experienced at other Chinese restaurants, the spring rolls at Yu's China Bistro are fried and were reported to be soggy. This feedback provides an objective view of one specific menu item and indicates a difference in preparation style compared to some other establishments. Potential customers who have a strong preference for a particular style of spring roll may want to take this into consideration.

Another point of feedback concerns the wonton soup. A customer who enjoys this soup mentioned that they often wish there were more wontons in the large size, frequently having to order extra to reach what they consider a normal portion. This is valuable information for those who are fans of wonton soup and may want to consider ordering an extra portion of wontons if they prefer a soup with a higher wonton-to-broth ratio.

Despite these minor critiques, the overall sentiment towards Yu's China Bistro remains positive, with customers highlighting the good food, good service, and the feeling that the ingredients used are of higher quality. This perception of using better ingredients can contribute significantly to the overall taste and satisfaction of the meals.

While specific details about the restaurant's environment, such as its ambiance or décor, are not extensively described in the provided reviews, the mention of it being a "great little spot" suggests a cozy and perhaps more intimate setting. However, without more information, it's difficult to provide a detailed description of the dining atmosphere. Given the emphasis on takeout and online ordering, the primary focus of Yu's China Bistro may be on the quality of their food and the efficiency of their service for both dine-in and takeout customers.

Located just outside of Short Pump in Manakin-Sabot. We tried this place on a whim. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The food is good. They have good portion sizes. They offer lunch specials daily from 11AM-2:30PM. You can order online or by phone. I only removed one star because the spring roll is fried unlike other Chinese restaurants ive been to, do this was disappointing and it was soggy. Please see photo below. Otherwise, food and service is good.

Yu’s is a great little spot. I have only had take out here but I feel like the ingredients are higher quality. The General Tso’s chicken is always on point and I love the sauce so I always order extra. The only thing I wish is they put more wontons in the large wonton soup. Always have to order extra for it to be close to a normal portion.

What happened? My wontin soup watered down, chicken chow Mein was dry, chicken lo Mein just tasted very different. New cook? Always happy with your food until this order New Year's Eve.

Previously tried to edit a former review. This place is a shell of its former self. Prices through the roof + surcharge + containers not filled. General Tso's, once a standout, was bland with no ginger and no sauce. 36 bucks. We're done being taken advantage of.

This is the best Chinese food in Richmond. I’ve turned people on to Yu’s that live 15 minutes or so away, and they will drive there to pickup orders multiple times a month. It’s my Dad’s favorite restaurant when he comes to visit. My wife loves their shrimp & broccoli. I like either the Hunan, Szechuan or Kung Pau chicken. They’re always doing a ton of take out orders, so if you want to eat in I’ve never seen it that crowded. And take out is amazing, tons of food at a great price.
