About Young's Gourmet

Welcome to Young's Gourmet, a Chinese restaurant located at 1340 E Huntington Dr, Duarte, CA 91010, USA. As a premier Chinese restaurant in the Duarte area, Young's Gourmet strives to offer local diners an authentic taste of Chinese cuisine in a comfortable and clean setting. You can easily reach us at (626) 358-8763 or our mobile number, +1 626-358-8763.

At Young's Gourmet, we understand the importance of a pleasant dining environment. Based on customer feedback, our restaurant is consistently praised for its exceptional cleanliness. Diners have noted the absence of the typical greasy atmosphere often found in some Chinese restaurants, highlighting the visibly clean tables and the readily available hand sanitizers throughout the premises. We take pride in maintaining a hygienic space where our guests can enjoy their meals with peace of mind.

Our menu features a variety of classic and specialty Chinese dishes, catering to different palates. Among our highly recommended items is the Chef's Special Walnut Chicken, which has received rave reviews, earning a perfect 5 out of 5 stars from one satisfied customer. This dish is described as superb, featuring a light batter coating without any oily or greasy residue. The accompanying honey mayo dressing is also noted for its perfect balance and lightness.

Another popular choice is our Mongolian Beef. While one reviewer suggested it might be more accurately named Black Pepper Beef due to its flavor profile, it still garnered positive feedback, receiving 4 stars from one diner and 3 from another. This indicates that while it might differ from traditional Mongolian beef in some aspects, it remains a flavorful and enjoyable option for many.

For those who enjoy Kung Pao Chicken, our rendition received a 3-star rating. One customer noted that the chicken, lightly coated in cornstarch and fried, was a bit dry due to being fried slightly too long. The sauce was also described as leaning towards a burnt taste, which, while offering a smoky note, wasn't entirely to the reviewer's preference. This feedback highlights our commitment to continuous improvement and attention to detail in our cooking processes.

We also offer the fundamental staple of Chinese cuisine: plain white rice. However, one review indicated that the rice served was not up to par, receiving a 1-star rating and being described as of low quality. We are attentive to this feedback and are committed to ensuring that all components of our meals meet the high standards our customers expect.

Despite some mixed reviews on specific dishes, many customers have expressed overall satisfaction with the food at Young's Gourmet. Our dinner combos are particularly praised for offering great value. These combos typically include appetizers, soup, rice, and a generous portion of the main dish, providing a satisfying meal with ample leftovers for the next day. Popular choices within the dinner combos include the Sweet and Sour Pork and the Orange Chicken, both of which have been positively mentioned by our patrons.

It is important to note that one customer reported experiencing an MSG headache after their meal, indicating a sensitivity to Monosodium Glutamate. While this customer acknowledged forgetting to inquire about MSG usage, it's a point for other sensitive individuals to be aware of and perhaps discuss with our staff when ordering. We aim to be transparent about our ingredients and accommodate dietary needs where possible.

In summary, Young's Gourmet offers a clean and welcoming environment for enjoying Chinese cuisine in Duarte, California. Our standout dishes like the Chef's Special Walnut Chicken have garnered high praise, while other dishes like the Mongolian Beef and Kung Pao Chicken have received varied feedback, providing us with valuable insights for refinement. Our dinner combos are recognized for their generous portions and value. We encourage you to visit Young's Gourmet to experience our food and service firsthand. For reservations or inquiries, please don't hesitate to call us at (626) 358-8763 or +1 626-358-8763. We look forward to serving you!

This place is super clean! Not that feeling of greasy oil over coating the entire restaurant. The tables were very very clean! And hand sanitizer everywhere! We ordered MSG warning. I did not feel it then but about half hour after I started to get an MSG headache. I do have sensitivity—I should have asked but forgot bc many places I have eaten recently do not use. Chef special Walnut chicken. Superb 5/5 The batter coating was light. No oily greasy feeling or oil absorbed into batter. The honey mayo dressing was also perfect light Mongolian beef. My husband gave it 4, me 3 stars. Because it was not really Mongolian beef. The correct name would be black pepper beef. It did not taste like Mongolian beef Kung pao chicken 3 stars was not as good. It was passable. The chicken seemed like it was lightly coated in cornstarch then fried. But it was fried a bit too long bc chi he was very dry. Also the sauce was not great. Tasted also a bit in the burnt side. I like smoky but burnt not great. See pic. I like tre chicken more lightly cooked so it’s still a bit soft and juicy. Sauce also too burnt Plain white Rice was horrible 1star. Edible inky bc we ate it with the good. Covered the bad low quality

Great food. Dinner combos are a good deal with appetizers, soup, rice, a lot of main item choices, and plenty left over for lunch the next day. We had sweet and sour pork and orange chicken

Lunch special was surprisingly delicious. "Didn't think it would be this delicious and be this much food" is what one of the guys I was eating with said. We all agreed. Service was great. We all had a different plate and each of us were very satisfied with our orders.

Waitresses are friendly, kind and helpful. The food from appetizers to main course are delicious. Calm relaxing atmosphere. I moved here from New York and glad I found it. Plenty of free parking too! I highly recommend this restaurant for everybody.
