Based on online customer reviews, experiences at Young Chow are varied. One first-time visitor had an overwhelmingly positive experience, praising the friendly staff and highlighting the coconut boba tea as exceptional. This reviewer also enjoyed the Crabmeat Rangoon (Cheese Wonton), Super Philadelphia Roll, Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll, and D.C. Roll, indicating satisfaction with both Chinese appetizers and sushi. They expressed a strong intention to return on their next visit to Washington DC.

However, another reviewer found the Chinese food to be below average, suggesting that good service and a decent atmosphere could not compensate for the food quality. Similarly, another customer who tried three Chinese dishes reported that two were lacking in protein and tasted comparable to grocery store options. This reviewer expressed surprise at the number of celebrities who had reportedly eaten at the establishment, implying a discrepancy between reputation and their personal experience. They also raised the possibility of an "off day" for their visit.

Interestingly, this same reviewer noted that "the sushi was the highlight," suggesting that the sushi offerings might be a stronger aspect of Young Chow's menu compared to its traditional Chinese dishes.

Young Chow appears to be a restaurant that offers a combination of Chinese cuisine and sushi. While one customer had a very positive experience with both types of food and the service, others found the Chinese food to be lacking in quality. The sushi seems to be a standout item for at least one reviewer. Potential local users may want to consider these mixed reviews and perhaps focus on the sushi offerings based on the available feedback. It is advisable to contact the restaurant directly to inquire about their full menu and the availability of services such as dine-in, takeout, or delivery.

I went there yesterday for the first time. Oh my gosh it was awesome! The staff was really nice and friendly. I got the coconut boba tea which was the best! I split the Crabmeat Rangoon (Cheese Wonton) (6 Pieces), the Super Philadelphia Roll, the Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll, and the D.C. Roll with a friend. They were all really good! Definitely go here! Next time I visit Washington DC I will eat here again.

Good service and decent atmosphere unfortunately cannot compensate for the below average Chinese food here. We had three dishes, two of which were lacking in much protein and frankly tasted similar to those from a grocery store. We were really surprised to see all of the celebrities who have eaten there. Maybe we were there on an off day? The sushi was the highlight.

They have quite a mix of cuisines here and that's not necessarily a good thing. The ambiance is dated, though relatively clean. I generally wouldn't recommend sushi at a place where there isn't regular fish flowing out/being ordered as this is usually an indication of long-frozen/unfresh fish but to each their own. Egg roll was okay, I've definitely had worse. Wouldn't order the Thai tea boba. It tasted okay but left a really weird after taste. Vietnamese roll was good. Crunchy and has good flavor. Chicken wings were dry - we typically order them naked to test technique. However, restaurants use sauce to mask overcooked meat so most may be fine with this. The spicy sauce had good flavor. The Yakiudon noodles had good flavor. Would order again. The drunken noodles were good but I've had much better. Though if you order the combo, you'll get quite a bit of meat vs. noodles. There are pictures of many senators, presidents and other politicians visiting the location but many places on the Hill do. Never mistake this for good food. But it's still pretty cool to know there's history.

I eat here literally every day for lunch. The best Chinese cuisine ever ! The staff is very friendly and provide great service. My fav part is that the food is to your table in less than 10 minutes so I never have to worry about being late for work. You gotta try the shrimp spring rolls, they are to die for. The food is very fresh and the seasoning is amazing!!!

Visited a second time with a friend of mine just to test the consistency of the service and food quality. Last time was great, this time was EVEN BETTER. The mango bubble tea tasted freshly made, the General Tso shrimp and Sesame chicken were absolutely delicious. This was NOT typical Chinese take-out. You can tell a distinct difference in the flavor, ingredients, and quality of the meat. The tempura sushi my friend ordered was great, and the service was excellent. The waitress and manager made a point in greeting us, making sure we enjoyed the food and showed appreciation for our patronage. I’m not from the DMV, but I heard they won award and known by Asian cuisine aficionados… I see why!!! A+++
