About Yong gung

Yong gung is a Chinese Restaurant situated at 2040 S Havana St in Aurora, Colorado. While some local residents, such as one reviewer's in-laws, seem to have a preference for this establishment, recent feedback indicates a somewhat varied dining experience.

In terms of features, Yong gung offers a menu that includes dishes like Seafood Dry Ja Jang (item 4) and Kkan Pung Shrimp. However, one review described the Seafood Dry Ja Jang as lacking the expected fried Ja Jang flavor and noted the use of frozen seafood, though the portion size was deemed good. The Kkan Pung Shrimp was also considered just okay, with a thick fried coating affecting the overall taste. There's a suggestion that the Jjam Bong (spicy seafood noodle soup) might be a better choice, based on a recommendation from a reviewer's in-laws.

Regarding service, one minor point mentioned was the use of plastic cups for serving hot or warm water. More significantly, a long-time customer noted a change in ownership at some point. This change appears to have impacted the pricing and portion sizes of certain dishes. For example, what used to be a $28.00 order of two Tonkotsu dinners (including the katsu, two sauces, a side salad with thousand island dressing, and rice) now costs $55.00 for a similar order with the addition of gyoza (goonmandu) and smaller rice and salad portions. The reviewer questioned whether this significant price increase was justified, especially since the food quality was perceived to be the same as before.

Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Potential customers should be aware of the mixed feedback regarding the quality of certain dishes and the reported increase in price and reduction in portion sizes for some items following a change in ownership. While the food is described as generally good, diners may want to consider these factors when making their decision.

In-laws like this place so given them a try. The sea food dry ja Jang (item 4) was okay but not that stand out. Lack the fried Ja Jang favor and seafood are frozen bag. Portion is good. Kkan Pung Shrimp also just okay, thick fry coating takes up most weight a d spaces render the overall favor. May be Jjam Bong would have better taste as in-laws suggested. Use plastic cup to serve hot/warm water.

We use to order Tonkotsu from this restaurant for years- The restaurant has changed hands, but I am not sure when….We use to get 2 Tonkatsu dinners for 28.00 . Which I thought was a reasonable price- the dinners come with the katsu- 2 sauces, side salad dressed with thousand island dressing and a side of rice. This order included those items with 2 sides of rice and an order of gyoza ( goonmandu ) and it now costs 55.00. Is it worth the difference in price now…? The sides of rice are in a much smaller container than before. Also the salads are smaller. I would say if the food was considerably better - maybe, but the food is exactly the same as it was before. An increase of 27.00 dollars.. The food is good and always has been, but you will have to make that decision for yourselves.

Casual Korean restaurant with delicious traditional dishes/Korean street food! I tried the Korean fried chicken, Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes). A hole in the wall place with amazing food!

Spicy Jjangbbong was delicious, along with the chicken tangsuyuk. Very crispy and juicy. I’d recommend this location for Korean street food.

We tried Yung Gung after seeing this place all the time eating at Tofu story next door. I am really glad we did. The food was a Korean Chinese fusion which I have only had in Southern California. The must try is the fried chicken is spicy garlic sauce. You can’t go wrong coming to Yung Gung!
