I’ve been waiting for rice rolls to come to Philly and I’m happy to report these hit the spot! The rice rolls are so fresh, soft, & flavorful. The prices aren’t as low as some places in NYC china town, but $8 isn’t bad either. I can’t wait to come back! The staff is also very friendly & accommodated putting the sauce on the side (not pictured) for my bf’s rolls since he is gluten free.

The food here was really good and so does the service. The restaurant was clean and very comfortable when i entered. The portion was average. I only tried a few dishes this time but will go back again to try more. Definitely recommend this to friends and family.

The store in Guangzhou is near and dear to my heart as the first Yin Ji store is next to my grandparents house. I would eat there every time I went back to China to visit them so it held a lot of memories for me. Unfortunately, as the brand franchised out, it has lost its quality. I tried the Manhattan one and the Philly one was the same, thick noodles and watered down soy milk. I ordered the triple combination rice roll with shrimp, beef, and cha siu. The skin was way too thick and mushy. The hot soy milk was the worst I had. It literally tasted like water. The only redeeming dish I had was the Sampan congee. I prefer a thick texture in my congee, and this one was good. Service was a miss for me as well. They didn’t have enough people working so I stood there waiting for like 10 mins for any of the 4 vacated tables to be cleared before I can be seated. I added thousand year old egg to my congee and that was forgotten. I liked the self ordering app, but it didn’t give an option to check out through the app. I would probably only go back for the congee and nothing else. If you like less doughy rice rolls I actually prefer the ones from Canto House.

Ordered 6 items, fried dough was served first, then 40 mins later the congee came. They are supposed to be served together. Quality and taste of the food is just okay.
