The main feature of Yin Ji Chang Fen is undoubtedly its Cantonese rice rolls (chang fen). These delicate, steamed rice noodle sheets are made fresh and filled with a variety of ingredients, such as shrimp, char siu (barbecue pork), beef, vegetables, or a combination thereof. The rice rolls are typically served with a light soy sauce-based dressing and sometimes a drizzle of sesame oil. The texture of perfectly made chang fen is silky smooth and slightly chewy, providing a delightful contrast to the fillings. Yin Ji Chang Fen likely takes pride in the freshness of their rice rolls and the quality of their fillings.
Beyond the signature rice rolls, Yin Ji Chang Fen is also likely to offer other classic Cantonese dishes that complement them. Congee, a smooth and comforting rice porridge, is a common accompaniment in Cantonese cuisine, especially for breakfast or a light meal. You can expect a selection of congees with various additions like pork, chicken, fish, or preserved egg. Noodle dishes, such as Hong Kong-style noodles or perhaps even some simple stir-fried noodle options, might also be available, providing a more substantial meal choice.
The focus on these specific Cantonese staples suggests that Yin Ji Chang Fen aims to specialize in and perfect these dishes, offering a more niche culinary experience compared to a broader Chinese restaurant. The freshness of the ingredients, the skill in preparing the rice rolls to achieve the desired texture, and the flavour of the fillings and accompanying sauces are likely to be key aspects that set Yin Ji Chang Fen apart.

Given the popularity of rice rolls as a breakfast or brunch item, they might have special morning deals. To stay informed about any promotions, it would be best to check for any in-store signage, look for local online food platforms or social media mentions, or inquire directly at the counter.

The food is goood! They give generous portion. We ordered the curry fish ball, deep fried fish skin, shrimp chang fen, hk peanut toast (take away) and hk milk tea. Realllyyy love the curryyy sauce and the hk milk tea. The curry is strong and a little bit spicy, and the milk tea is so smooth and not sweet at all which is good! Gotta come back
Usually, when I come to eat here, there is a line waiting to get in. I got a table for me and my family and enjoyed the freshly made rice noodle crepes, fish congee, beef brisket, soy sauce fried noodles and drinks (hot horlick and pineapple freeze). Delicious and classic Chinese comfort food on a Sunday morning 😋.
The most satisfying brunch I’ve had in Manhattan! Highly recommend the signature seafood congee—it’s amazing! The fish balls and rice rolls were super delicious too. Overall, I absolutely loved it😋😋😋
Delicious rice rolls! We tried the shrimp and chive and the pork chive. Both were delicious. Note that if you order hot tea here, it’s milk tea.
GREAT DUMPLINGS! Food was delicious. Cash only. 4 dishes including tea was about $35 before tip. Is packed with people all the time. Modern atmosphere. Is a must for NYC visitors.
