Based on recent online reviews, Yen Ching Hull Street distinguishes itself through its appealing environment, attentive service, and well-received cuisine. One customer who visited during a weekday lunch described the decor as "very pretty" and the atmosphere as "quiet," suggesting a pleasant and potentially relaxing dining setting, which could be ideal for both casual lunches and more intimate gatherings. The availability of a "full drink menu," extending beyond just beer and wine, indicates a comprehensive beverage selection to complement the meal.

This reviewer began their meal with the hot and sour soup appetizer, which they found to be "flavorful and full of ingredients," highlighting the quality and richness of their starters. For the entrée, they chose the "happy family" dish, a combination of beef, chicken, shrimp, and scallops in a brown sauce, served with a side of fried rice. The portion size was noted as "huge and heaping," so substantial that the customer was unable to finish it all, further emphasizing the generous servings at Yen Ching. Importantly, the reviewer found the entrée to be "super delicious," underscoring the satisfying taste of their main course.

The reviewer did point out two minor drawbacks regarding their meal. The first was the fried rice, which they felt wasn't truly fried but tasted more like white rice with soy sauce or a similar seasoning. While they noted it still tasted fine, it didn't meet the expectation of traditional fried rice. The second issue was with one of the scallops in the happy family dish, which was not properly cleaned and had some "gritty sand/pebbles or something" attached. However, the reviewer took this in stride, stating it was "no big deal" and didn't ruin the rest of the food, simply choosing to avoid that particular scallop. This suggests a level of understanding and resilience from the customer, not letting a minor oversight detract from the overall positive experience.

The service at Yen Ching Hull Street was highly praised by this customer, who described their server as "super attentive and sweet." The efficiency of the service was also noted, with both food and drinks arriving quickly. This level of attentiveness and speed contributes significantly to a positive dining experience, making guests feel well-cared for and valued.

Another reviewer focused solely on the General Tso's Chicken, proclaiming it to be "absolutely out of this world delicious!" They particularly appreciated the "light breading," the flavor of the sauce, and the inclusion of "fresh ginger," indicating a well-executed and flavorful rendition of this popular dish. This overwhelmingly positive feedback on a specific entrée suggests that Yen Ching has mastered some classic Chinese dishes that are highly enjoyable to their patrons.

Based on these reviews, the environment of Yen Ching Hull Street is a significant positive aspect, characterized by "pretty decor" and a "quiet atmosphere." Went during a weekday lunch, very pretty decor and quiet atmosphere. Full drink menu was available, not just beer and wine. Started off with a hot and sour soup appetizer, which was flavorful and full of ingredients. For an entrée I ordered the happy family- beef, chicken, shrimp and scallops in brown sauce, with a side of fried rice. A huge heaping portion that I couldn't finish all of, and super delicious. The only two knocks for the meal were the rice- it wasn't exactly fried and just tasted like white rice that had been tossed in soy sauce or something? Still tasted fine, just wasn't really fried. The other thing being one of the scallops in the meal wasn't properly cleaned so it had gritty sand/ pebbles or something attached to it still. No big deal, it didn't ruin the rest of the food, I just avoided eating that one. It happens. My server was super attentive and sweet, food and drinks both came out quickly. Overall a great dining experience.

Pleasantly surprised when we are here for dinner. It was very good. I was expecting it to be your typical Chinese restaurant, but the layout was kinda fancier than usual. The staff was quick and nice to deal with. Food was awesome!

I love the food when eating in. When taking out they limit you on sauces. I use about 4-6 soy sauces on my food and about 2-3 sweet and sour on my egg rolls. I spend enough to get what is needed for my meal. The only other suggestion would be to add more soy sauce from the table on my food before I leave. I never seen such stingy owners. Remember your customers keep you a float.

We normally order take out from this place a lot over the last 10 years and it has always been our favorite Chinese restaurant. But today we placed our normal order which is always no vegetables. That made half our food with veggies and then forgot an item completely and instead of saying “I’m sorry, how can we make this right?” They just wanted to argue about it. So I drove back up there and got the correct meal with no veggies and the item they didn’t put in the first order. They also wanted the food they fixed incorrectly back (which I don’t think you’re supposed to do that). Well here we are an hour later…my husband threw up most of his and my stomach is churning and I feel nauseous. Idk what they did to the food I had to go back and pick up but it just makes me wonder. Very disappointing!!! We won’t go back after this fiasco! My advice would be, don’t ever send your food back because you don’t know what happens in the kitchen they bring you your replacement. Or better yet, just don’t eat there!
