About Yeah Shanghai Deluxe
Welcome to Yeah Shanghai Deluxe, a Chinese restaurant situated at 50 Mott St, in the vibrant heart of New York City's Chinatown. As a dedicated establishment within the "Chinese Restaurant" category, Yeah Shanghai Deluxe offers a distinct culinary experience, likely specializing in the flavors and dishes characteristic of Shanghai cuisine. While the limited information does not provide an exhaustive overview of their entire menu, customer reviews offer valuable insights into their service, some of their signature dishes, and the overall dining atmosphere.
One of the most striking features of Yeah Shanghai Deluxe, consistently highlighted by patrons, is the exceptional level of service. Diners have described the service as "impeccable," noting the proactive and attentive nature of the staff. Multiple waiters are mentioned as being consistently present and helpful, anticipating customer needs before being asked. Examples provided include subtle guidance on how to best enjoy dishes, such as eating a pork bun whole with a spoon to savor the broth, and immediately offering napkins in case of spills. This level of attentiveness and care suggests a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and a dining experience where guests feel well looked after.
The staff at Yeah Shanghai Deluxe are also praised for their demeanor, being described as "kind and patient." This positive interaction with the service team can significantly enhance the overall dining experience, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests. The contrast drawn by one reviewer, comparing the service favorably to that of upscale restaurants in downtown Manhattan, underscores the exceptional quality of service that Yeah Shanghai Deluxe seems to provide, especially for a restaurant described as a "sweet little restaurant nestled in Chinatown."
While one reviewer expressed that they are "no expert on dim sum," their positive experience with the pork buns suggests that this is a noteworthy item on the menu. Pork buns are a popular dim sum staple, typically featuring fluffy steamed buns filled with savory barbecued pork. The reviewer's enjoyment of the pork buns indicates that Yeah Shanghai Deluxe prepares them to a satisfying standard. Additionally, the orange chicken was also well-received, with the reviewer noting a "just right amount of spice" and the presence of actual orange peels, implying a genuine and thoughtful preparation process rather than relying solely on artificial flavorings.
However, it is important to present a balanced perspective based on all available feedback. One customer offered a contrasting opinion, stating that the food was "too oily and saucy" and "not authentic." This suggests that experiences with the food quality and authenticity can vary. While this is a single negative review among positive comments regarding service and specific dishes, it is still a relevant piece of feedback for potential diners to consider. The same reviewer did note that the "space itself was nice," providing a glimpse into the restaurant's ambiance, although without further details, it's difficult to elaborate on the specific environment.

Customer Reviews
We dined here on a Thursday night and the service was impeccable, with multiple waiters making rounds and helping us before we had to ask - e.g. hinting to eat a pork bun whole with the spoon in order to retain the broth, passing napkins the moment we had a quiet spill, etc. Everyone we interacted with was kind and patient. While I’m no expert on dim sum, I enjoyed the pork buns and orange chicken which had just the right amount of spice alongside actual orange peels implying a genuine prep process. Honestly can’t say enough about the service - this sweet little restaurant nestled in Chinatown was so much more on it than most upscale restaurants we tried in downtown Manhattan.
Food was too oily and saucy. Not authentic. Space itself was nice.
Good restaurant to come and have a good taste of the Chinese gastronomy. In this case we tasted pork and white rice, beef soup, and a good tofu soup. Different flavors that in some moments are weird but interesting. I always think that you need to taste other things even when they don’t call much your attention. A little bit never kills anyone. Here in this restaurant I got to give a 5 star to the decoration and the tables, it was perfect in all aspects. The service in the beginning was ver y normal but it went better when we ordered more. The flavors of the food I must say that where unique and gave me the intentions to see what more can we taste. For the handicapped people it is friendly.
Atmosphere was nice, but our table cloth was a bit dirty when we got there. The food came out pretty quickly and the servers were nice. My friend got veggie dumplings which she really enjoyed. However I got pork dumplings and sesame chicken and neither were great. My pork dumplings had almost no seasoning and the pork has turned gelatinous in some areas - maybe undercooked. I couldn’t finish them. The sesame chicken was alright but a bit rubbery and yellow. Would not come back.
Great waiter! Great Food! Great Experience! Orange Beef, General Tso, Pork crispy buns, and spicy wantons, all good and fresh. The Hot and Sour Soup to die for.
