About Yat Tung Chow Noodle Factory 周一統麵廠
Yat Tung Chow Noodle Factory 周一統麵廠, located at 150 N King St in Honolulu's bustling Chinatown, presents a unique facet within the Chinese restaurant category. Unlike conventional restaurants that primarily serve prepared dishes, Yat Tung Chow Noodle Factory 周一統麵廠 functions as a producer and retailer of freshly made noodles and wrappers. This establishment caters not only to individuals looking to create their own authentic Chinese meals at home but also potentially supplies other restaurants seeking high-quality, locally made ingredients.
Customer reviews highlight the exceptional quality and variety of noodles and wrappers available at Yat Tung Chow Noodle Factory 周一統麵廠. One enthusiastic reviewer specifically praised their "Best Won Ton Pi & Hong Kong Style noodles," emphasizing the "great chewy texture" that is characteristic of authentic Hong Kong-style noodles. This texture is highly valued in Cantonese cuisine and can be difficult to replicate with mass-produced or less fresh alternatives. The reviewer's practice of vacuum-sealing, freezing, and bringing these products back to Japan underscores their superior quality and the difficulty of finding comparable wrappers suitable for Cantonese wontons elsewhere. They specifically noted that Japanese gyoza wrappers are unsuitable, often leading to soggy wontons due to overcooking.
Another customer corroborated the freshness and variety offered, mentioning that there were "probably over 10 types of noodles and 5+ types of wrappers" available. This wide selection suggests that Yat Tung Chow Noodle Factory 周一統麵廠 caters to various culinary needs, providing options for different types of Chinese dishes. The reviewer specifically mentioned the "wonton noodles" as being "chewy and bouncy," further reinforcing the positive feedback regarding the texture of their noodle products. The fact that this customer also bought extra noodles to take home, even going to the extent of bringing them in their luggage, speaks volumes about the desirability and quality of the factory's offerings.
A notable point from one of the reviews is the cashier, who is possibly the owner, being described as "All business." This suggests a no-nonsense approach to transactions, emphasizing efficiency. Customers are advised to "have your ducks in a row," implying that being prepared with their orders will ensure a smooth and quick purchase. This directness might be part of the factory's operational efficiency, focusing on providing fresh products quickly to meet demand.
Given its nature as a noodle factory, the environment of Yat Tung Chow Noodle Factory 周一統麵廠 is likely more functional than a traditional restaurant with elaborate décor. Customers can probably expect a straightforward setting where the focus is on the production and sale of noodles and wrappers. The atmosphere might be bustling with activity, especially if they are preparing fresh batches or serving customers. It's less likely to have extensive seating for dining in, suggesting that the primary service is for takeout of their fresh products.
The services offered by Yat Tung Chow Noodle Factory 周一統麵廠 primarily revolve around the sale of their freshly made noodles and wrappers. Customers can visit the factory to purchase these items for their home cooking needs. The variety of noodles and wrappers available is a key feature, allowing customers to find the specific types required for different Cantonese dishes, such as wonton soup, lo mein, or various dumpling preparations. The willingness of customers to travel with these products indicates that the factory might take care in packaging to ensure freshness during transit, although specific details on this are not provided.
The standout feature of Yat Tung Chow Noodle Factory 周一統麵廠 is undoubtedly the freshness and quality of their noodles and wrappers, particularly the Hong Kong-style noodles with their sought-after chewy texture and the wonton pi that is deemed superior for making authentic Cantonese wontons. The traditional methods used in their production, while not explicitly detailed, are implied by the positive comparisons to authentic Asian preparations. The wide variety available is another significant feature, catering to a range of culinary applications.
Currently, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers or special deals at Yat Tung Chow Noodle Factory 周一統麵廠. As a factory outlet focused on production and retail of specific items, their business model might not heavily rely on traditional restaurant promotions. In conclusion, Yat Tung Chow Noodle Factory 周一統麵廠 in Honolulu's Chinatown is a unique and valuable resource for those seeking high-quality, freshly made noodles and wrappers for authentic Cantonese cooking. Their Hong Kong-style noodles with a desirable chewy texture and the specifically praised wonton pi are standout products. Best Won Ton Pi & Hong Kong Style noodles....great chewy texture. I vacuum seal, freeze and bring back to Japan all the time. Hard to find this kind of wrapper in Japan...they mostly have gyoza wrappers here which is not good for Cantonese Won Ton....it over cooks quick and your left with a soggy blob of Won ton. The cashier/?owner? is All business so you better have your ducks in a row!
Freshly made noodles and wrappers - there were probably over 10 types of noodles and 5+ types of wrappers. The wonton noodles were chewy and bouncy. We bought extra to take home - popped them in the fridge then brought them in our luggage!
Consistently excellent noodles and wrappers for a good price. They sell out of wrappers fairly quickly. No cooked good, they only sell fresh noodles and wrappers to take home and cook.
Best freshly made dumpling wrappers (thick or thin) to get in town!
The casher lady always had sour face !i think thats the owner.
