I went here with a couple friends, one of which is from China and was excited to try some Chinese seafood in Chicago. We had good expectations and they were satisfied. The fish seemed fresh and the broth was flavorful and spicy. My friend really loved the Dry Chilly Chicken dish we got over the fish. The dessert we tried was delicious and refreshing. My other friends who doesn’t really like fish also noted that the fish was tender and she enjoyed it. I’d say if you’re someone who doesn’t love sour food; I’d recommend trying something other than the fish. The service was good and nothing bad to note about. Our server was helpful in explaining the menu to us. Overall, a good spot in Chinatown to visit again to try some of their other authentic dishes.

I found this restaurant through Tiktok so since on Xmas everything was close we decided to go to no other better place than Chinatown. I wanna to try yao yao since I saw it the first on my tiktok feed but I don't live nearby so I couldn't make it before. When we first got in I was literally impress. First so modern and beautiful, second open concept kitchen??? very rare on any chinese restaurants, this give a scene of clean and trustworthy since you can see how they cooking so you know it should be clean. Everything on the restaurant it's decor with white and blue, absolutely beautiful modern. Now about the food, we didn't get the famous fish bowl , instead we got chicken fried rice, mongolian beef and pork on garlic sauce. Each of this dishes were AMAZING, very tasty and big portions, I thought perhaps it was not going to be enough food but I was wrong, we left super full with only 3 dishes. The star of the night was definitely the mongolian beef, so tender and tasty, it was just mouthwouring. I recommend this place 100%, please stop by because it's literally worth the drive if you are not nearby, I give this restaurant a 10/10.

foods super authentic. Pickled fish soup is really good but very strong so careful if you’re not prepared. For those who don’t like the pickled flavor, would recommend the green pepper fatty beef!

Delicious, Fresh Fish! We got the two flavored dish for about $60. Yes, this is expensive! BUT, we were pleasantly surprised by two HUGE containers of fish. I'm not kidding, our meal for "two" can probably feed SIX. My to-go bag was 15lbs and I only ordered the fish and a dessert! In addition to the outrageous portion sizes, I thoroughly enjoyed how the fish was cooked AND the flavors. The fish was SUPER tender, as soft as silken tofu. I enjoyed that the fish wasn't super processed. Each piece also has fish skin (yum) and some small bones. If you're unsure about bones in fish, you'll be surprised to know that almost every fish in the sea has bones. Our two flavors were tomato and pickles veggies. Each one had a unique flavor profile. The sweet and savory tomato flavor matched the sour and spicy pickled vegies perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will continue to gorge on said meal over the next few days!
