Welcome to Yangtze Chinese Restaurant, situated upstairs at 133 Main St in the charming square of Chardon, OH 44024, USA. As a local establishment categorized as a Chinese Restaurant, Yangtze aims to provide a variety of Chinese culinary options for residents and visitors in the Chardon area. Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at Yangtze Chinese Restaurant appear to be somewhat varied. One reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with their recent dining experience. This customer described several dishes as being of poor quality, including fried dumplings, crab rangoon (noting a watery sauce), and wonton soup (described as flavorless and watery). The pineapple shrimp was particularly criticized, labeled as "absolutely disgusting," and the fried rice was also deemed subpar. This negative experience led the customer to leave without eating their meal and highlighted concerns about the service, such as slow plate clearing and an unclean table. The limited amount of ice provided in the water was also mentioned as a negative aspect.
In contrast, another reviewer offered a more positive perspective, describing Yangtze Chinese Restaurant as "very satisfying" and asserting that it has been the "best Chinese food in Chardon" for years. This customer praised the restaurant's "warm, clean space" featuring a large window overlooking the square. They also noted that Yangtze offers a "full menu of well done dishes at fair prices." This suggests that while some customers have had negative experiences, others have found the food and atmosphere to be enjoyable.
Considering these contrasting viewpoints, potential customers might find it beneficial to weigh both perspectives. The positive review highlights the restaurant's established presence in Chardon, a comfortable environment, and a comprehensive menu with reasonable pricing. This suggests a history of providing satisfactory meals to some patrons.
On the other hand, the negative review raises concerns about the quality of certain dishes, food preparation, and aspects of the service and cleanliness. These are important factors for any diner to consider. The specific issues mentioned, such as the quality of appetizers, soup, a main dish, and even the fried rice, along with the service attentiveness and table cleanliness, paint a picture of a less-than-ideal experience for at least one customer.
Given the limited information about the restaurant's environment beyond the mention of a "warm, clean space with a large window facing the square," it's difficult to provide a detailed description of the ambiance. However, the positive review suggests a comfortable setting for diners who choose to eat at the restaurant.
Regarding services, Yangtze Chinese Restaurant likely offers both dine-in and takeout options, given its physical address and the nature of Chinese restaurants in general. The negative review implies dine-in service, although with noted issues in attentiveness. It is reasonable to assume that they also handle phone orders for pickup. Information about delivery services, if any, is not provided in the reviews. To confirm the availability of delivery or to inquire about making reservations for dining in, contacting the restaurant directly would be the best course of action.
Features of Yangtze Chinese Restaurant, based on the positive review, include a "full menu of well done dishes." This suggests a broad selection of typical Chinese-American cuisine, which might encompass various categories such as soups, appetizers, fried rice, noodles, and main courses featuring different proteins and cooking styles. The mention of "fair prices" indicates that the restaurant aims to offer value for money. The location on the square in Chardon could also be considered a feature, potentially offering a pleasant view and easy access for local residents and visitors to the area.
Currently, no specific promotional information for Yangtze Chinese Restaurant is available in the provided data. Restaurants often have lunch specials, combination platters, or discounts for certain order amounts or days of the week. To learn about any current promotions or special offers, it would be necessary to check their website (if they have one), inquire when calling to place an order, or look for any posted specials at the restaurant itself.
In conclusion, Yangtze Chinese Restaurant in Chardon, OH, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer feedback. While one reviewer had a significantly negative experience concerning food quality and service, another praised the restaurant for its satisfying food, warm atmosphere, and fair prices over the years. Potential local users considering Yangtze should be aware of these contrasting opinions. If planning to dine in, the positive review suggests a comfortable environment, but the negative review raises concerns about service attentiveness and cleanliness. For those primarily interested in the food, the discrepancy in reviews indicates that the quality might be inconsistent or that individual preferences vary greatly. It is recommended to consider these points and perhaps try a few different dishes or visit on different occasions to form your own informed opinion. For the most accurate and up-to-date information on their menu, services (including delivery options), and any ongoing promotions, direct contact with Yangtze Chinese Restaurant is advised.

AWFUL if could give a zero star I would! To start we ordered fried dumplings which were gross and the crab Rangoon, the sauce was super watery. The wonton soup had no flavor and was watery. I ordered the pineapple shrimp which was absolutely disgusting the fried rice was not even good. We ended up leaving without eating our food. Also, you get five ice cubes in your water which was disgusting. All around just a bad experience. When the server did come she didn’t clear any plates. That should not have been a surprise when I walked in she was cleaning the table next to us but never wiped it down and left rice all over it. Pictured is the pineapple shrimp.
Very satisfying Chinese restaurant on the square in Chardon. For years this has been the best Chinese food in Chardon. A warm, clean space with a large window facing the square. Yangtze has a full menu of well done dishes at fair prices.
This food is out of this world. General Tso is done so well here that it might actually be my favorite food of all time. Never have I been able to get so much flavor for so cheap. I feel like the sauce put on that chicken is the best thing made in human history. Thank you Yangtze for blessing my taste buds.
A bit disappointed this time. Always been the best food! Some changes to recipes, not same. Meat had some kind of coating not appetizing. Delight of three and beef low men. Egg rolls bland, pork fried rice was simply rice, no meat or veg? Too expensive.
Went for dinner last night to this restaurant and we were really surprised by the wonderful service and delicious food. We ordered a dinner for two combo and both got soup, I got hot sour and Rowdy got egg drop. Both very good. Next was appetizers, we both got an egg roll and a BBQ sparerib and it was the first time I had a sparerib and it was superb. The egg roll was stuffed with just the right amount of vegetables and was served with a sweet sour duck sauce that I believe to be homemade, extremely tasty. Main courses were General Tso and Kung Po Chicken and it did not disappoint. Just the right amount of heat. I could only ask them to add a bigger bar, bring in mixed drinks and it would be perfect! Great job, we will be back!
