The pork rib sizzling pot was also praised for its "really good flavors," along with the roast pork and the sizzling beef, indicating a mastery of classic Cantonese meat dishes.

To complement the meat dishes, Yan Zi Lou also offers a selection of vegetable dishes, which were appreciated for providing a good balance to the richer meat options. The reviewer noted a slight disappointment that the restaurant had run out of the seasonal vegetables, suggesting that they prioritize fresh, seasonal produce in their cooking. Additionally, the fish dishes and the egg flower soup were enjoyed by the reviewer's friends, further showcasing the variety and quality of the Cantonese offerings at Yan Zi Lou.

While the majority of the dishes received high praise, one reviewer noted that the calamari was "mediocre" to their group. This honest feedback provides a balanced perspective and suggests that, like any restaurant, some dishes might be stronger than others based on individual preferences.

We bought seafood from a supermarket then came here to have the restaurant chef cooked them. They listed the cooking fees on the wall so there are so many customers bringing their seafood and let the restaurant cooking it. The cooking was perfect. Love all dishes.

This is a solid place to get some authentic Cantonese style food. We ordered a good amount of food to share among the table. Some of the standout dishes to me were the beef chow fun as it had a good charred/smoked flavor on the noodles, the pork rib sizzling pot had really good flavors, roast pork, and the sizzling beef. The veggie dishes were a good balance to the meat dishes (it was sad that they ran out of the seasonal veggies). My friends enjoyed the fish and the egg flower soup. The only dish that was mediocre to them was the calamari.

First time dinning at the restaurant in my old neighborhood. Never knew it was here because it’s hidden off 82nd ave. and amid just regular residential buildings. The staff was very friendly and was surprised that we’re dinning in at 10:00am on a Sunday morning. All the food we ordered did not disappoint and was very good and fresh. The squid was soft and tender which shows that the cook really know what he is doing. With its large oversized tables that can accommodate 10-12 people. Will definitely bring the family to enjoy more of the food from the vast menu. Parking is very limited and shared with several other small restaurants.

Very authentic very delicious!!! 😍 You know it’s real when you can bring your own seafood for them to cook lolololol Would recommend!!!! *but parking slightly hard to find during busy hours, there’s an additional park lot if you drove in to the right (I haven’t parked there so not sure how big it is, but it’s there. Just kinda tucked away)

The food was all rightAt the end of the meal the waitress brought us our change and literally blocked us from being able to leave the restaurant and demanded that we give her a tip. And we were told that we cannot go in and gamble although there was somebody (Asian) in there gambling. I have never In my life experienced such a rude, entitled server. Then to be denied access to video poker. I won't go back to this restaurant.
