The atmosphere at Yamayoshi Asian Fusion is described as being "tucked away right off the cute main street of Sewickley," suggesting a somewhat intimate and perhaps less bustling setting despite its central location. This could offer a pleasant and relaxed dining environment away from the main thoroughfare while still being easily accessible. One reviewer mentioned that the interior was too warm, but noted that this might have been due to a recent weather change, indicating a potentially seasonal issue rather than a consistent problem. Overall, the ambiance seems to be convenient and generally agreeable.

The service at Yamayoshi Asian Fusion is consistently highlighted as a strong point. One customer described their waiter as "funny and pleasant," indicating a friendly and engaging service style. Another reviewer simply stated, "Service is fantastic," underscoring the positive experiences many guests have with our staff. This focus on providing excellent service suggests that our team is attentive, welcoming, and aims to create a positive and enjoyable dining experience for all patrons.

A notable feature of Yamayoshi Asian Fusion is the diverse menu that incorporates elements from various Asian cuisines. One customer specifically praised the Pad Thai, noting that it was "pleasantly different from the common style of preparation." They highlighted that the noodles were thinner and the sauce was more savory rather than the typical sweet sauce, suggesting a unique and potentially more authentic or regional take on this popular Thai dish. This willingness to offer variations on classic dishes could be a hallmark of our fusion approach.

Recent changes in management have also brought about new additions to the dining experience. One positive change mentioned by a reviewer is that the restaurant now brings "crisp wontons at the beginning," which are described as "so good." This complimentary offering adds value and enhances the initial part of the meal, providing a tasty start to the dining experience.

For those interested in Japanese cuisine, Yamayoshi offers dishes like Chirashi and various sushi options. One reviewer noted that the Chirashi was a non-traditional preparation, featuring "little bits of chopped raw fish (tuna, salmon)" instead of the usual slices of sashimi. While the presentation differed from expectations, the "sauce was good," indicating that the flavor profile was still enjoyable. Another customer specifically praised the "sushi rice," describing it as "delicious, perfectly cooked and with rice vinegar." The quality of sushi rice is crucial for good sushi, so this positive feedback is significant.

The menu also includes options like the Hawaiian Poke Bowl. One customer found it "good, but not amazing," providing a more nuanced perspective. They noted that the takuan (pickled radish) was "watery instead of crisp and salty," but the "seaweed was great!" and the edamame was "somewhat boiled (probably cooked earlier and then presented later)." This detailed feedback suggests that while some elements of the dish were well-received, others could be improved. The inclusion of poke bowls indicates a modern Asian fusion approach, catering to current culinary trends.

The drinks at Yamayoshi are also mentioned positively, with one reviewer stating that they are "reasonably priced." This affordability of beverages can contribute to the overall value of the dining experience. The "jasmine tea was excellent," according to another customer, highlighting the quality of even the simpler drink offerings.

Has changed management and added a few items. They now bring crisp wontons at the beginning and they're so good. The chirashi is not traditional chirashi - it was little bits of chopped raw fish (tuna, salmon) instead of slices of sashimi. Sauce was good. Hawaiian poke bowl was good, but not amazing. The takuan was watery instead of crisp and salty. Seaweed was great! Edamame was somewhat boiled (probably cooked earlier and then presented later). The sushi rice is delicious. Perfectly cooked and with rice vinegar. Service is fantastic. Drinks are reasonably priced. It was too warm inside, but the weather has just changed, so that could be seasonal.

Amazing Wonton soup ($3.50). The broth was incredible. I asked the waitress and she said it was made in house. So good! I had to get an extra takeout container for later which was only ~$6 for a large container. Super recommend getting some to try! I also got the pork Lo Mein. Very very good! I was only able to finish half the plate as I was so full. Great portion sizes and great prices! I think it was around $12 rounded up for the noodles. For such a great Asian restaurant, the prices are absolutely reasonable! Especially considering I had 2 meals worth of food for the price!

I usually refrain from writing negative reviews, but after throwing out 80 dollars worth of take out I felt compelled! The worst quality I can recall. Since the restaurant has been taken over the food is awful. It was just average before when it was China Palace, but now it’s quite simply inedible. The Hibachi presented itself as dry & overcooked lumps of the poorest quality chicken. Enough to put you off eating meat. Zero flavor with a mayo based dressing!?? Seems Impossible to make something so unappealing. The red Thai curry is nothing like it used to be. Tasted beyond disgusting and I’m not sure if the chicken was actually chicken. Lumps of gristle. A hazard to be honest. The vegetable Singapore noodles got thrown out with the rest of the garbage as by that point nothing could be trusted from this restaurant. Overall disgusting and a complete disgrace to serve food so revolting. AVOID!!!

It’s the second time we eat in this Chinese restaurant, the first time we ordered it to go and it was delicious but I wanted to have a second opinion when trying to eat freshly cooked food. The restaurant is clean and pleasant inside, the service is excellent, the waitress was very attentive, respectful and always aware of whether everything was okay. The food was very good, everything was fresh, we loved it. The price seems expensive to me, we ordered two appetizers and two traditional Chinese dishes and it was $ 67, but we were satisfied with everything.
