Customer reviews suggest that Xun Yu Si Kao offers a unique dining experience with a focus on flavorful dishes, particularly their bass fish with garlic flavor and BBQ skewers. One customer who visited for the second time was highly satisfied, praising the bass fish (medium spice), the add-ons of tofu, beef, and noodles, and the BBQ items including squid, garlic oyster, beef, and lamb, describing them as cooked to perfection and "so so so so yummy." They also noted the restaurant wasn't busy and the food arrived quickly, with the fish being not too salty.

Another reviewer had a "very nice dinner," highlighting the restaurant's efficiency, quick greeting and seating, fast order delivery, and attentive wait staff. They also mentioned the good plate size for sharing.

However, another customer found the food to be "tasty and spicy" but "way too salty" for their preference, even describing some bites as tasting like "a spoonful of salt."

The skewers were generally well-received, with "mini hot dogs" and "lamb" being mentioned as favorites.

As a Chinese restaurant, Xun Yu Si Kao appears to specialize in dishes like bass fish with garlic sauce and a variety of BBQ skewers. The service is generally considered efficient and friendly. However, potential customers sensitive to salt should be aware of a review mentioning the food being overly salty. The restaurant seems suitable for those looking for flavorful and potentially spicy Chinese cuisine, with dishes designed for sharing.

Second time here and it didn’t disappoint!!! We got the bass fish with garlic flavor medium spice level. For add on to the fish we had the tofu, beef and noodles. It was so worth the extra add on. For the BBQ we got , the squid, the garlic oyster, the beef and the lamb. It was all cool too perfection. It was so so so so yummy. I enjoyed it a lot. It wasn’t busy and food came out quickly. Best of all, the fish wasn’t too salty. I’ll come again

Had a very nice dinner here. Very efficient restaurant. We were greeted as soon as we came through the door and seated just as quickly. Our orders came out quickly, and the attentive wait staff kept our water containers filled and our questions answered during our dinner. Very good plate size to share with friends. Everything was tasty and spicy, but it was way too salty for my taste. There were some bites I took where it tasted like a spoonful of salt. The skewers were good! Favorites were the mini hot dogs and the lamb.

I’ve been coming to dine in this restaurant ever since it has opened. It’s one of the most authentic Sichuan cuisine in NYC. While every dish being very delicious, the frog fish I had stood out to me. It was fresh and very similar to the one I had in China. Apart from the food, the service is also extremely good. The staff were quick to assist my needs and very polite during my dining. Definitely recommended !

Pretty spicy food, but if you aren't used to heat you may want to tone it down. I like the fish and lamb the most, really nice spice blend used to give a really rich and complex flavor. It's not spicy for the sake of being spicy which I appreciate, so there is flavor beyond the heat. Atmosphere is nice and so are the staff, no complaints from me.
