About Xin Lin

Located at 4507 Park Avenue in Union City, New Jersey, Xin Lin Chinese Restaurant operates within the "Chinese Restaurant" platform category, offering a range of Chinese cuisine to the local community. As a provider of these services, Xin Lin likely caters to customers seeking takeout, delivery, and possibly dine-in options. While one customer review paints a positive picture of their initial experience, other feedback raises concerns regarding order accuracy and pricing consistency, which potential customers should be aware of.

One enthusiastic reviewer recounted an "amazing experience" at Xin Lin. This customer ordered several popular dishes, including General Tso's Chicken, shrimp fried rice, and steamed dumplings, and reported that everything was "absolutely delicious." They specifically praised the crispiness and spice level of the chicken, the freshness and perfect cooking of the shrimp in the rice, and the tenderness and flavorful filling of the dumplings. Furthermore, this reviewer commended the staff for being "friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home." The food was also noted for its quick arrival, hot temperature, and generous portion sizes, leading this customer to declare Xin Lin their "new go-to spot for Chinese food in the area." This positive feedback highlights the potential for a satisfying dining experience at Xin Lin, particularly concerning the quality and taste of their dishes.

However, contrasting sharply with this positive account are several reviews that raise significant concerns. One customer issued a stark warning: "They will steal parts of your order and over charge you. BE Careful!!!" This serious accusation suggests potential issues with order fulfillment and billing practices that could negatively impact the customer experience. Such feedback warrants careful consideration from prospective patrons.

Another reviewer echoed concerns about pricing inconsistencies, stating, "I have eaten here a few times and the food tastes generally what you would expect Chinese food to taste. The issue is they will charge different prices all the time and the difference can be anything from $.50 to $2 they also cut corners on the food." This indicates a potential lack of transparency and consistency in pricing, which can erode customer trust. The mention of "cutting corners on the food" is also a point of concern regarding the overall value and quality offered.

Further detailing these issues, another customer provided a specific example involving an order of chicken wings. They reported ordering two sets of four whole wings with no sides, which they believed should have cost around $15.25 based on a price of $7 per order. However, on a subsequent visit, they were charged $17.50 for the same order. Additionally, they claimed to have received one less piece of wing from both orders. This detailed account supports the allegations of overcharging and incomplete orders, raising serious questions about the restaurant's operational integrity.

The final review, while acknowledging that Xin Lin's late operating hours were convenient, ultimately concluded with a firm statement: "but I will never go back." This decision was presumably influenced by the negative experiences described in the other reviews, suggesting that the convenience of the operating hours could not outweigh the issues encountered with the food or service.

Considering the totality of the available reviews, Xin Lin Chinese Restaurant appears to present a mixed bag of experiences for its customers. While some have enjoyed the quality and taste of specific dishes like the General Tso's Chicken, shrimp fried rice, and steamed dumplings, there are significant and repeated concerns raised about order accuracy and inconsistent pricing. These issues, if widespread, could detract significantly from the overall customer experience and warrant attention from the restaurant management.

For local users in Union City considering Xin Lin, it would be advisable to exercise caution and perhaps verify their orders and pricing at the time of purchase. While the positive review suggests that the food itself can be enjoyable, the multiple reports of discrepancies in orders and charges are serious enough to warrant a degree of vigilance. The restaurant can be contacted at (201) 866-8008 or +1 201-866-8008, and their address is 4507 Park Ave, Union City, NJ 07087, USA. Potential customers may wish to keep the reported inconsistencies in mind when placing orders or dining at this establishment.

In conclusion, Xin Lin Chinese Restaurant in Union City offers a menu of familiar Chinese dishes, with at least one customer reporting a highly positive experience regarding the taste and quality of their order. However, a significant portion of the recent feedback highlights potential problems with order accuracy, inconsistent pricing, and possibly even the quantity of food received. These conflicting reviews suggest that while some customers may find Xin Lin to be a satisfactory option, others have encountered issues that have led to negative experiences and a reluctance to return. Prospective customers should weigh these factors carefully when considering Xin Lin for their Chinese food needs.

They will steal parts of your order and over charge you. BE Careful!!! I have eaten here a few times and the food tastes generally what you would expect Chinese food to taste. The issue is they will charge different prices all the time and the difference can be anything from $.50 to $2 they also cut corners on the food. I got 2 orders of 4 whole wings no sides. That is supposed to be $7 each. About 15.25. I went back yesterday and was charged $17.50. I was also missing 1 piece of wing from both orders. I understand 1 order but both is stealing from the customer. They are open late so it was convenient but I will never go back.

The menu at Xin Lin is extensive, featuring classic Chinese dishes alongside house specials. Patrons have praised the chicken with broccoli for its generous portions and flavorful sauce. The boneless spare ribs are noted for their well-balanced glaze—neither too sweet nor overly sticky. Additionally, the chicken lo mein receives commendation for its balanced seasoning and perfectly cooked noodles.

I ordered the chicken wings and lo mein, and both were great. The wings were crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and seasoned just right—seriously addictive. The lo mein was loaded with noodles, veggies, and that perfect savory sauce. Everything came hot and fresh. Definitely a solid choice for a quick, satisfying meal!
