About Xin Hi
Xin Hi is a Chinese restaurant located at 2051 Bartow Ave in Bronx, New York City. They can be contacted at (718) 379-2200 or their mobile number +1 718-379-2200.
Customer reviews present contrasting experiences at Xin Hi. One customer who dined in found the food quality to be poor, describing it as barely available, old-looking, and tasting off, with the exception of the stuffed clams and fish. They suspected the use of the same oil for frying both seafood and chicken, noted the chicken's appearance suggesting reused oil, and were disappointed by the limited soup options. This reviewer also felt the restaurant's claim of "over 200" meal choices was a significant overstatement, estimating closer to 30 options. While they found the waitress nice, they would not return due to the food quality and perceived false advertising about the variety of dishes. They did note that the interior of the restaurant was "pretty" despite being small.
In contrast, another customer had a positive experience, finding the restaurant well worth the walk from nearby Bay Plaza Mall. They visited on a weekend and mentioned that lobster was served at the table, highlighting a significant seafood selection along with beef spare ribs. This reviewer also noted the availability of takeout with reasonable charges based on weight and praised the staff as very nice.
Given these divergent opinions, it appears that Xin Hi offers a buffet experience with a focus on seafood, including lobster on weekends, and also provides takeout services. The environment is described as "pretty" despite its size. However, potential customers should be aware of reports regarding food quality and the accuracy of the advertised number of meal choices.

I went tonight with my husband for the first time. Unfortunately I will never go again. There was barely any food and the food they did have looked and tasted old, the stuffed clams and the fish were about the only two things we enjoyed. The chicken taste like the fish with led us to believe they use the same oil to fry their seafood and chicken and the chicken looked really fell which is usually what happens when you re use oil multiple times. We ate because we wanted to give it a chance n not jump to judging.i went to get some soup and there was nothing but celery sticks in broth I asked the gentlemen and he basically was trying to get me to eat the other one which i didn’t want at all. The waitress was nice though. It’s sad because if their food standards were better they would be a hit because although very small compared to even merryland buffet is pretty in there. What got me highly upset was the false advertisement it says really big “over 200” (meal choices) if there was anything over 30 it was a lot. The seafood was the only thing to look edible and somewhat fresh
I really don't understand the low rating. This is close to Bay Plaza Mall, a bit of a walk but it's well worth it. We went on a weekend and they serve lobster to you on the table. Lots of seafood choices, beef spare ribs which could be pricey if you order in other restaurants. You can also do take out and they will weigh and reasonably charged as well.Staff are also very nice!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Chinese buffet, and I must say it was quite an experience. The establishment garnered a range of opinions from customers, and here's my take on it. Upon arriving, I was pleased to find attentive and friendly customer service, which set a positive tone for the evening. The seating area, while slightly cramped, became busier as the evening progressed, indicating its popularity among diners. One standout moment was when a server surprised our table with a generous portion of whole lobster, a delightful touch that showcased the staff's willingness to go the extra mile. The overall cleanliness of the place, including the bathrooms, added to the pleasant dining environment. The buffet's array of options was impressive, spanning around 4 to 5 rows of dishes. While predominantly Chinese cuisine, the variety encompassed other cuisines as well, ensuring there was something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed the well-seasoned Chinese dishes and the addition of sushi to the spread. The dessert section was decent, with the cheesecake standing out as a personal favorite. Although I was eager to explore more, my stomach's capacity reached its limit. The inclusion of ice cream in the freezer added a magical touch to the culinary adventure. While the restaurant had its strengths, it's worth noting that service had its moments of inconsistency, as mentioned in one of the reviews. Nonetheless, the balance of good food and reasonable prices made it a worthwhile experience. During the week, the $14 price tag was a steal, offering good value for the variety of food available. However, weekends saw a slightly steeper price of $26, which might be a consideration for those looking to visit during peak times. In conclusion, my experience at the Chinese buffet was satisfactory. With an impressive selection of dishes, varying in quality, and a cozy atmosphere, it's a dining spot that caters to a diverse range of tastes. Whether you're craving authentic Chinese flavors or simply seeking a satisfying buffet adventure, this place is worth a visit.
Great staff. Very friendly and accommodating. The food is good, and the buffet is kept clean. Not too pricey. Clean restaurant.
The service was nice and the atmosphere was good, but the food was horrible. I mean i don’t wanna judge because i went late at night, but the seafood is not well cleaned, the rice was dried and the chicken was cold. And they had only 2 fruits left at that time, I don’t know if they have more of a variety in other times of the day. They had good desserts.
