One of my friends recommended that we should check out Festival Plaza in Edison NJ where there are lots of shopping stores including H-mart supermarket. Before going there, we checked online for a good place to eat and this restaurant Xie Bao Crab House was one of them. Being seafood lovers, we loved to try different things and so glad we did. We ordered their well known dish Crab roe over noodle (you can select noodle or rice), Pork rinds in fish soup with crab roe and Crab roe & pork pan-fried buns. Their crab roe is deliciously seasoned with flavors mixed very well the noodle. My boys loved their fish soup with crab roe. I loved how every bite you can tasted the savory crab roe. They also have complimentary appetizers of pickled white radish, toasted peanuts and seasoned wood ear mushrooms. It’s a cozy environment with friendly staffs. Everything were so good. We would definitely come back when we visit the plaza again.

Xie Bao Crab House has recently opened in Manhattan, NY. Live or work by the city? They also have a location conveniently on 9th Ave and West 46th. Come enjoy some crab roe! We visited the Edison location inside Festival Plaza. Take the elevator to the second floor and step inside for some crab roe delights! Their friendly staffs gave some recommendations and one of them must be the crab roe over noodles. Indulge in generous amounts of crab roe and meat over bottomless noodles while enjoying other authentic Chinese dishes. You must also order the meilian congee and the off-menu red bean zongzi if available. Their pan fried buns are also juicy and delicious. Xie Bao Crab House also have seafood boil making this the perfect place for crab and seafood. Stop by Xie Bao Crab House in Edison when you have a chance!

Holy crab! I can’t believe the crab roe tasted as good as it looked! Moreover, I enjoyed every dish here. I learned that this restaurant offers Huaiyang cuisine, a cuisine I’ve never heard of or ever tried. This type of cuisine focuses on the perseverance of original flavors of the ingredients. Therefore, you know the ingredients are fresh because it tasted so good. Absolutely a big fan of this place. This is a must try!

Big foodie here so once I found out about their crab roe options I knew I had to check them out. I couldn't believe how flavorful the crab roe soup buns were, not to mention the juiciness of the meatballs! Xie Bao has some huge flavors you'd expect out a big fancy restaurant but for half of the price. I will absolutely be coming back next time I'm in the area.

Review not for crab boil Recommend: crab roe over noodles, pan fried buns Ok: soup dumplings, crab cakes, tofu and crab roe over rice There's very little crab on the menu other than the crab boil. Otherwise I would find this more accurately named crab roe house. The crab roe has good flavor, but it does have a bit of the fishy flavor also. Soup dumplings have no soup. Flavor is ok but there is no soup. The tofu and crab roe over rice is very very bland, much more worth it to get crab roe over rice as an entree. Crab cakes were ok but tiny. The pan fried buns were my favorite and are currently half price on Thursday, so maybe we will come back on Thursday for the buns. Overall pretty pricy and largely underwhelming
