About Xiao Chi Jie
Xiao Chi Jie, located at 278 106th Ave NE in Bellevue, WA 98004, operates as a "Chinese Restaurant" offering a variety of dishes, with a particular emphasis evident in some of the customer reviews. They can be contacted at (425) 598-2184 or +1 425-598-2184. Based on the available customer feedback, Xiao Chi Jie presents a somewhat mixed experience, with some dishes receiving positive remarks while others have areas for potential improvement.
The environment at Xiao Chi Jie is described as a "nice place for a quick bite" by one reviewer. This suggests a casual and perhaps efficient setting, suitable for those looking for a relatively fast meal. However, the reviews do not provide extensive details about the restaurant's ambiance, décor, or seating arrangements. One reviewer who visited on a Saturday afternoon did not comment specifically on the atmosphere, focusing instead on the food and service timing. Therefore, while it appears to be a pleasant enough space for a quick meal, more detailed information about the environment is not available from the provided reviews.
The services offered by Xiao Chi Jie include dine-in, as indicated by the customers who ate at the restaurant. One reviewer mentioned a delay in receiving their order due to the preparation of a crepe (Jian Bing), suggesting that they prepare items fresh to order. Another notable service is the availability of "frozen items" for sale, implying that customers can purchase some of Xiao Chi Jie's offerings to take home and prepare themselves. This could be a convenient option for those who enjoy their food but prefer to eat it later or in the comfort of their own homes. While not explicitly mentioned, it is reasonable to assume that Xiao Chi Jie also offers takeout services for customers who wish to order food to go. Delivery services might also be available through the restaurant directly or via third-party food delivery platforms, but this is not confirmed in the provided information. The attentiveness of the staff is not consistently addressed, with one reviewer not commenting on it and another praising the recommendation from a friend, implying a positive interaction at some point.
The features of Xiao Chi Jie appear to center around specific dishes that have garnered positive attention. The "pan-seared buns" were highlighted as being "far juicier and tastier than the soup dumplings" by one reviewer and were considered "definitely the start of the meal." This suggests that the pan-seared buns are a standout item and a recommended choice. The "fried soup dumplings" and "steamed soup dumplings" were both enjoyed by another reviewer, who described them as "very juicy." This indicates that Xiao Chi Jie offers multiple varieties of soup dumplings, a popular Chinese delicacy known for its flavorful broth encased within the dumpling. The "Jian Bing," a Chinese crepe, is another featured item, although one reviewer noted that its preparation caused a delay in their overall order. Despite the delay, the fact that it is offered suggests it's a part of their specialty or popular menu items. The side dishes, such as "cucumber" and "Sichuan cabbage," also received positive feedback, being described as "pretty good," indicating a well-rounded menu that includes more than just dumplings and buns. The availability of frozen items is another unique feature, allowing customers to enjoy Xiao Chi Jie's food at their convenience.
However, the reviews also point out areas for potential improvement. One reviewer noted that the "soup dumplings were a bit cold" by the time they were served, suggesting an issue with timing in the kitchen or the speed of service. This indicates a lack of consistency in the temperature of the food upon arrival at the table. The same reviewer also felt that the "entire order took a while to be prepared," and that the kitchen could have timed the items better to ensure everything was fresh and hot. This suggests that while the food quality of some items is appreciated, the coordination and timing of food preparation might need refinement. The contrast between the positive feedback for the pan-seared buns and the mixed feedback for the soup dumplings highlights that the quality and execution might vary across different dishes.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Xiao Chi Jie based on the provided reviews. Restaurants often utilize promotions to attract customers, such as discounts on specific dishes, combination meals, or special offers during certain times or days. The fact that one reviewer visited based on a friend's recommendation suggests that word-of-mouth referrals play a role in their customer acquisition. To find out if Xiao Chi Jie is currently offering any promotions, local users would need to check online platforms where the restaurant might be listed (such as Yelp or Google Maps), visit their website if they have one, or contact them directly by phone. Given that one reviewer mentioned visiting on a Saturday afternoon, it's possible they have weekend specials, but this is not confirmed in the provided text.
In conclusion, Xiao Chi Jie in Bellevue is a "Chinese Restaurant" that appears to specialize in a variety of dishes, including soup dumplings, pan-seared buns, and Jian Bing. Customers have praised the juiciness and taste of the pan-seared buns and some varieties of dumplings, as well as the refreshing side dishes. However, there are also mentions of soup dumplings being served cold and delays in order preparation, suggesting potential inconsistencies in the dining experience. The unique feature of selling frozen items offers customers an additional way to enjoy their food. While the environment is described as a nice place for a quick bite, detailed information about the ambiance is lacking. The service seems generally positive, although one reviewer noted timing issues with their order. As there is no promotional information in the provided reviews, local users interested in trying Xiao Chi Jie might want to explore their menu online or contact the restaurant directly to learn more about their offerings and any current specials. The mixed feedback suggests that while some dishes are highly recommended, there might be variability in the overall experience.

Came here because we saw some decent reviews on Google. It was a Saturday afternoon when we came. The food was ok. Soup dumplings were a bit cold by the time we received our order. The entire order took a while to be prepared, and it turns out the crepe was the hold up. Felt like the kitchen could’ve timed the rest of the items better to keep everything fresh/hot. The pan-seared buns were actually far juicier and tastier than the soup dumplings and definitely the start of the meal. They also sell frozen items as well.
We came here because of a friend’s recommendation, and it turned out to be great! We enjoyed the fried soup dumplings, steamed soup dumplings and Jian Bing. Those dumplings were very juicy. The side dishes such as cucumber and sichuan cabbage were also pretty good. It’s a nice place for a quick bite.
Absolutely fine. Not so exciting. Would probably stick to the noodles if I return. There are many other places I would get XLB at first, though. Food court is not well lit and very quiet on a Friday night.
I got the Shen Jian Bao (pork soup dumplings) here, and they were decent The dough on the outside was nice and soft, and the bottom had a brown-ish texture, indicating shallow frying the inside was a bit lacking, though. it felt like mostly soup rather than having much pork filling. the pork inside was fine, but nothing special for about $10, you get 5 dumplings, which isn't a bad price, but I wouldn't say it makes you full overall, these are perfectly average dumplings, but there are better places. 7/10
1. Salty - both jianbin and noodles were overpowered by saltiness. We selected extra spicy option for the jianbin and the result was a jianbin that was smothered by a chilli oil similar to laoganma (a popular Chinese chilli oil brand) - see picture of oil residue in tin foil. The dandan noodle on the other hand was unconventionally not spicy and seemed to contain too much salt or soy sauce. 2. Portion size - specifically for the dandan noodle. Definitely not worth the $12! 3. Value - in spite of increased cost of living, neither the flavour nor the amount of food justified the high price for me. Overall the fried buns were the best out of the food we ordered since the soup dumplings were mediocre at best. It would be a stretch for me to recommend this establishment; especially if you were travelling from far away as you may leave disappointed.
