About Xi’an Sizzling Woks

Xi’an Sizzling Woks is a Chinese Restaurant located at 902 Arch St, Philadelphia, PA 19107, USA. They can be contacted at (215) 925-1688 or their mobile number +1 215-925-1688. Despite its exterior appearing like a takeout spot, Xi’an Sizzling Woks offers a clean and inviting dine-in experience.

Customers have described it as a "hidden gem" with amazing food and service. One reviewer who initially hesitated due to the exterior was pleasantly surprised by the interior and the quality of the food. Dishes like the Chongqing spicy chicken, scallion pancake (noted for its uniquely crisp crust), liang pi, and hot and sour soup have been praised for being flavorful and perfectly prepared. The hot and sour soup is highlighted for being packed with vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, and eggs, described as comforting, delicious, and healthy, with options for small and large pots.

The service is consistently described as phenomenal, with food arriving quickly. Customers also note the unbeatable quality and quantity of food for the price. This suggests good value for money.

For those opting for takeout, the Chinese pork hamburger and liang pi were described as tasty and having a homemade feel, with a predominantly soy sauce flavor. The "hamburger" bun was noted to be bready and soft, and the liang pi was a firmer, less chewy cold dish. Another takeout dish, the pepper chicken, was reported to be good and met expectations for Chinese takeout.

Overall, Xi’an Sizzling Woks offers local users in Philadelphia authentic Xi’an cuisine with a welcoming dine-in environment that may surprise those judging by the exterior alone. The restaurant is praised for its flavorful and well-prepared dishes, phenomenal service, and good value. While takeout options are available, the dine-in experience seems to be a highlight for many.

Hidden Gem with Amazing Food and Service I’ve always been curious about this place but hesitated to try it because of the exterior—it looks like a takeout spot from the outside. Last week, I finally decided to go in and was pleasantly surprised. Inside, it’s a clean and inviting dine-in restaurant. The restaurant was empty, which made me a little sad, especially after trying the food—it’s unbelievably good! I ordered the Chongqing spicy chicken, scallion pancake, liang pi, and hot and sour soup. Every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. The scallion pancake had a uniquely crisp crust, and the hot and sour soup was packed with veggies, button mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, tofu, and eggs. It was comforting, delicious, and felt healthy—exactly what you need on a cold day. They even offer small and large pot options, which is great for any appetite. Service was phenomenal, and the food arrived quickly. The quality and quantity of food for the price were unbeatable. If you’re in the neighborhood, don’t overlook this spot. It’s a hidden gem that deserves more attention. I’ll definitely be back!

Got the Chinese pork hamburger and the liang pi for takeout late at night. It was tasty and felt a bit homemade. The flavor was good, but not particularly notable if you’ve tried other places. More of a soy sauce flavor. The “hamburger” bun was on the bready and soft side. The liang pi was a cold dish. It was on the firmer side and not as chewy. Friend got the pepper chicken which was good and within expectations of Chinese takeout.

It is such a rarity to find Xian food in the us. It was very good and they were kind enough to make something of the menu for me. It was not exactly like it was in country, but I will take it. The Chinese hamburgers are also good. I do suggest asking for additional peppers. Overall, the food was good and the staff were incredible.

Some of the best food I've had out in Philly thus far. I had the General Tso with a pork egg roll. The food was fresh and hot. The inside was clean and the staff were very nice.

Place took a big dive most def changed management. Staff don’t listen to what you need. I went there twice asking for noodles with no eggs and it comes out with eggs and they try to convince me it’s tofu! Scallion pancakes were not thoroughly cooked. They won’t give us wooden chopsticks telling us the whole restaurant doesn’t have them even for take out and gave us plastic forks instead. Will not be going back. We were born but we weren’t born yesterday. Waste of time and money and quality is sub par.
