Whether you're a fan of hearty soups, flavorful meats, or traditional street food, Xia Famous Foods has something to satisfy every craving.

One of the standout features of Xia Famous Foods is its commitment to authentic flavors and traditional cooking methods. Diners can expect a variety of signature dishes, including:

  • Mutton bone soup (肉夹馍)
  • Pork noodle soup (羊肉泡馍)
  • Braised beef noodle soup

The restaurant is known for its unique style of thick noodles, which are stretched to order in front of customers. This hands-on preparation adds a special touch to the dining experience, allowing guests to witness the craftsmanship behind their meals.

Xia Famous Foods also emphasizes the importance of using fresh ingredients and maintaining traditional recipes. While some menu items may be out of stock from time to time, the restaurant strives to keep its offerings authentic and true to the flavors of西安.

However, it's worth noting that the restaurant does not have a restroom available on-site. Street parking is plentiful, making it easy for diners to come and go.

One of the unique aspects of dining at Xia Famous Foods is the recommendation to pair your meal with at least some spice. This adds an extra layer of flavor to the dishes and aligns with traditional西安 cooking techniques. Additionally, the transparent kitchen allows guests to watch as their food is prepared, adding a level of transparency and trust in the dining experience.

While the majority of customer feedback has been positive, there have been a few minor issues reported. For example, some diners have noted that the noodles are served at room temperature rather than hot, which can affect the overall texture. Additionally, it's advisable to confirm the availability of specific dishes before visiting, as some items may be temporarily unavailable.

I am a little scared to post this review because the Xi’an rep who comments on these posts seems a bit off-putting but I’ll share my personal experience here anyway. I’ve eaten at various Xi’an locations and most of them have been good. I must admit I haven’t been to one in a few years so I was surprised to find that the flavor had changed slightly. The chili oil sauce that they use currently has more of a sour note than I remember. This isn’t a bad thing as many people enjoy a good spicy sour flavor balance. This wouldn’t deter me from going back to Xi’an either but let’s just say I enjoyed the old flavor better. Of course, I don’t know if they actually changed their ingredients or if the sauce has minute variations between different establishments but that’s just how I thought the flavor tasted. I ordered the beef noodle soup as well as the mount qi pork noodle. The pork was super flavorful and very tender. The sauce coated the noodles perfectly and made for a very delicious experience. The beef noodle soup was piping hot and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The beef was also very tender and had its own delectable flavor. This particular place is a part of the Xi’an warehouse it seems. There is a small seating area but no bathroom. There is plenty of street parking. Also, as I was taking my order to go quite a ways back home, I asked for the noodles to be packed separate from the soup. When I picked up my order, my online request was not carried out so I verbally asked again. I was told simply that they don’t do that. Lesson learned that if I want to order soup from here, I have to eat it right away, eat the noodles soggy, or bring my own container to separate the noodles from the soup.

Unique style of thick noodles. The aignage recommends you choose at least some chilli, and that you dine in, as the noodles don't survive transport well. They have clear screens into the kitchen, so you can watch you noodles stretched to order. A few menu items were out of stock but this was not marked on the board, disappointed customers were just told upon ordering. This store is open surprisingly short hours, just lunch times.

One of my favorite restaurants. I love the spicy authentic Chinese food, especially the lamb dish. Also always wanted to try their fish but haven’t done it yet. I saw that all the other locations said “permanently closed” and got really sad. I read it was because the CEO didn’t want to put their employees at risk so they didn’t deliver during the pandemic. Then I looked on their website and saw that some of their stores will begin to open back up again. Really happy about that! I really hope they can all open back up. In the meantime, I will buy from this location and buy some chili oil to support them. 💪

I always come here get the pork burger to go, but recent 2 times are really disgusting, the employees don't chop the pork into smaller pieces anymore, it's a lot of huge chunks of fat, I almost want to vomiting after seen them. And they taste much salty than before .

Awesome place, awesome workers. I work around the corner so I eat here twice a week. If it's your first time, get the Pork "Zha Zhang" Hand Pulled Noodles - Regular/Mildly Spicy (If you don't like spicy, please learn to like spicy then come back and eat here, since "not-spicy = not as good", the CEO of XFF agrees with me, and even says this on the loud speaker in a pre-recorded message occasionally at the store between songs) The Lamb Burger is great too (It's not a burger, just a very nicely spiced lamb sandwich, with slices of marinaded lamb) Pro-Tip: Ask for them to chop the lamb into small pieces before they fill the sandwich, (they normally do this with the pork burger automatically, so it's not a strange request) you can also ask them to cut it in half... either way, this prevents you from pulling out an unwanted majority of the protein in one bite. I buy their Chili Oil by the larger container, it's extremely good and made of 20+ ingredients, it's why their spicy dishes are so much better then their non-spicy dishes... especially in the winter. Hope you enjoy.
