About Xi'an Cuisine

Welcome to Xi'an Cuisine, a Chinese restaurant situated at 225 W Cermak Rd in Chicago, IL, within the vibrant Chinatown area. As a dedicated Chinese restaurant, Xi'an Cuisine specializes in bringing the authentic tastes of Xi'an to the local community.

Based on customer reviews, Xi'an Cuisine offers a selection of dishes that are appreciated for their authentic flavors. Some of the items sampled include beef skewers, noodles with beef, beef buns, marinated peanuts, fried peanuts, and marinated potato slices. Notably, the beef dishes are characterized by a prominent cumin flavor, which may appeal particularly to those who enjoy this spice.

A highlight mentioned by customers is the handmade buns, which are prepared fresh upon order. It is suggested to enhance the flavor of the buns with vinegar. While some customers found the food to be good and even authentic according to someone from Xi'an, others felt it did not quite reach the level of the best offerings in Chinatown.

It was noted that during a Saturday lunchtime visit, some menu items, including the original noodles and banana for smoothies, were unavailable. Additionally, there was a delay in the service of a smoothie, which arrived after the meal was finished.

If you are interested in exploring the specific and authentic flavors of Xi'an cuisine, particularly dishes featuring handmade buns and a strong presence of cumin in the beef options, Xi'an Cuisine offers a unique culinary experience in Chicago's Chinatown.

Food was good, but not the greatest in Chinatown. We split the beef skewers, noodles with beef, beef buns, marinated peanuts, fried peanuts, and marinated potato slices. It was noon on a Saturday and they were out of the original noodles we wanted to order, as well as out of banana for the smoothie. And the smoothie didn’t come out until we were fully done with our meal. The food was good, but not great enough to entice me back. The buns were the best part of the meal, be sure to add vinegar! And they make all the buns handmade upon order! The beef dishes all were heavy on cumin flavor so if that is not your favorite spice, this isn’t the place for you.

The food here is absolutely amazing! Super delicious. Sent these pics to my friend from XiAn, she also says they look real authentic!

This place was highly recommended on Instagram. Although I was so thrilled to leave my house and rush to Chinatown I think this first stop I would rate is 3/5. The Lamb and beef skewers were great but had too much fat on the skewers. If you like grissle or fat on your meat you will like this. I ordered beef skewers 2 for 5.00 although the menu prices are not updated. Lamb skewers 2 for 5.00 And cumin lamb flatbread which was 6.00. The flatbread has no seasoning or sauce and is dry. I am a true foodie and would like to hear ur experience Do not order tap water glasses are dirty and need to be sanitized . 3 appetizers for 17.88

100% recommend. Really friendly people. Food was fantastic. We (two adults, teenager, 5 year old) bought way too much food - skewers, hand pulled noodles, dumplings, wanton soup, marinated tofu. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.

No punches pulled here. Sure the service is a bit brusque and the single TV is emanating a delightfully incomprehensible Chinese game show, but these guys aren't here to make you feel like royalty. They're here to whip up in 8 minutes the best bowl of biang biang noodles you've ever had in your life and leave it at that. Business is business. At the end of the day this is a place that makes some really really really good Shaanxi specialties.
