About XG Restaurant

Welcome to XG Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant situated at 18481 Colima Rd in Rowland Heights, California. Within the diverse category of Chinese restaurants in the area, XG Restaurant appears to have carved a niche for itself, particularly gaining attention for its specialty buns. While the available information is somewhat limited, the existing customer reviews provide some insight into the unique offerings and potential service aspects of this establishment.

Details regarding the environment and ambiance of XG Restaurant are not provided in the customer feedback. Therefore, an objective description of the restaurant's physical setting cannot be accurately formed based solely on this information. Potential customers may need to visit the location to assess the atmosphere and decor for themselves.

In terms of services, one review mentions the option to "call in to pre order" signature buns, implying that XG Restaurant offers a pre-ordering service, especially for items that may not be readily available for walk-in customers. This suggests a level of accommodation for customers who want to ensure they can purchase specific items. However, the same review also recounts a negative experience where a pre-order was not prepared due to a failure in recording the order, highlighting a potential inconsistency in their service execution. This incident raises concerns about the reliability of the pre-ordering process.

The standout feature of XG Restaurant, according to one enthusiastic customer, is its buns. The reviewer claims that you "can't find a better bun place in LA," even stating they had almost 20 buns in their freezer. This strong endorsement suggests that XG Restaurant specializes in and excels at making a variety of buns that are considered exceptional in quality and taste, at least by this particular patron. The term "signature buns" is also used, indicating that there are specific types of buns that are particularly popular or unique to XG Restaurant. These signature buns seem to be in high demand and potentially have limited availability for walk-in customers, necessitating pre-orders.

The fact that a customer was willing to travel "so far from downtown" to visit XG Restaurant specifically for the buns further emphasizes the perceived quality and desirability of this particular offering. This suggests that XG Restaurant has built a reputation, at least among some customers, as a go-to place for high-quality Chinese buns.

However, the negative review regarding the unfulfilled pre-order presents a contrasting perspective on the overall customer experience. The reviewer labeled the failure to prepare a pre-ordered item as "very unprofessional." This indicates a potential issue with their order management system or staff communication, which could lead to customer dissatisfaction. It is important for potential customers to be aware of this reported service lapse.

Given the limited information, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of all the features of XG Restaurant. The primary focus of the available feedback is on the buns, which are highly praised by one reviewer. The other review highlights a significant service issue related to pre-orders. It is unclear what other types of dishes or services XG Restaurant might offer. As a Chinese restaurant, it is likely to have a broader menu beyond just buns, but no details about other offerings are available in the provided text.

No specific promotional information is mentioned in the customer reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to comment on any special offers, discounts, or seasonal promotions that XG Restaurant might be running. To obtain information about promotions or their full menu, it would be best to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers.

In conclusion, XG Restaurant in Rowland Heights appears to be a Chinese restaurant that has garnered attention for its exceptional buns, with one reviewer claiming they are the best in Los Angeles. The option to pre-order signature buns suggests their popularity and potential limited availability for walk-ins. However, a reported incident of a failed pre-order indicates a potential area for improvement in their service reliability. For local users in Rowland Heights and the broader Los Angeles area who are enthusiasts of Chinese buns, XG Restaurant might be worth a visit to try their acclaimed signature items. However, it would be prudent to be mindful of the reported service issue when placing orders. For more information on their menu, services, and any potential promotions, contacting XG Restaurant directly is recommended.

I purchased a box of pork bun from this restaurant (it named Sunny Dumpling House/XG Restaurant/Lee's Bao zi). I randomly ate one bun and noticed there was something textured like “eggshell,” but I didn’t take it seriously and swallow them in. After that, I had a second bun, felt the same texture, and swallow. Until I bit a hard piece, I thought was a rock and spat it out. What I found was a piece of broken glass and it was bitten into two pieces. After a while, I felt some discomfort in my throat so I asked my husband took me to urgent care. The doctor ordered a neck x-ray and told me if she found something usual, she would call me. When I back home, she called me and asked me to go Emergency directly. I was sent into the emergency room because of abnormal results and foreign body in the throat. After examinations, I did upper GI endoscopy(EGD) to make sure there was nothing scratch or cut my throat, esophagus, and stomach. Fortunately, I was the lucky one, but the recovery after the procedure (under anesthesia) was very painful and took many days to get well. I am safe and recovered now. Please avoid this restaurant. They’re not responsible for their food. They told me they checked the kitchen there was no way to let pieces of glass into the bun. However, one staff said maybe it’s the glass bottle of fermented bean curd because the lid is always tied so they will hit the lid to let air in. The owner and manager of the restaurant still refuse to admit this matter is their responsibility. Does it mean they don’t need to take any responsibility for taking out food? Very disappointed. My husband and I purchased buns for many years, but won’t go to this restaurant for any consumption anymore.
