About Wu's Garden
Wu's Garden, located at 2507 SW Cherry Park Rd, Troutdale, OR 97060, USA, is a Chinese restaurant that offers its services to the local community. The restaurant can be reached by phone at (503) 618-7663 or via mobile phone at +1 503-618-7663. As a Chinese restaurant, it typically provides a range of classic Chinese dishes, often focusing on takeout and delivery services given the nature of many such establishments in the area.
Regarding the environment of Wu's Garden, specific details about its interior ambiance or dining area are not extensively provided in the available customer reviews. The nature of the provided feedback, which heavily focuses on food quality and customer service interactions, suggests that the primary mode of engagement for many customers is likely through takeout or delivery. One review, while critical of the food, humorously refers to it as "drunk food," which might imply a more casual or functional setting rather than a formal dining environment. The overall impression leans towards a utilitarian establishment where the focus is on quick service and convenience, fitting for a local Chinese takeout spot. However, without more descriptive reviews of the physical space, a detailed picture of the environment remains unclear.
The service at Wu's Garden, particularly the front-of-house staff, receives mixed feedback. One reviewer consistently notes that "The lady at the front is always very nice," indicating a positive and friendly initial interaction for customers picking up orders. This suggests a welcoming demeanor from at least some of the staff members, which is an important aspect of customer service. However, serious concerns are raised regarding service when issues with food quality arise. One customer reported being "told no" when asking about a refund for unsatisfactory food and was met with a dismissive response that it was "my problem" and that the oil is changed "once a week and nobody else complained that day." This strongly negative interaction highlights a significant gap in customer problem resolution and suggests that while some staff members may be pleasant, addressing customer dissatisfaction can be challenging. The mention of intentions to "go down there to get my money back" further indicates a perceived lack of willingness to resolve issues amicably over the phone.
The features of Wu's Garden, specifically concerning its food, are subject to highly contrasting opinions. The menu includes typical Chinese combination dinners, such as the "#6 Dinner combo" and "#8 combo," which often consist of a variety of popular items like fried shrimp, pork, rice, and a main entrée. Initially, one customer noted eating there "maybe once a month the past few," implying a previous level of satisfaction or consistent patronage, albeit sometimes as "drunk food."
However, recent experiences detailed in the reviews present significant concerns about food quality. Specific complaints include "discolored" pork that "should be pink," suggesting improper cooking or handling, and "stale, like day old" rice. The "fried shrimp was okay, but the smell is overly fishy," which could indicate freshness issues or old frying oil. Most critically, the "general tsao chicken was sub par and tasted tough like it had been refried," and one customer expressed worry about "all the meat" due to the appearance of the pork, fearing "food poisoning." Another highly negative review stated that "everything that we had that was fried treated like it had been cooked in the oldest nastiest fry oil I've ever had the displeasure of tasting," impacting multiple fried items within an order. These detailed criticisms raise serious questions about the consistency of food preparation, ingredient freshness, and kitchen hygiene, particularly concerning frying oil management. The strong negative reactions, including customers reportedly throwing up their dinner and expressing concern about food poisoning, indicate a significant deviation from expected quality standards.
In terms of promotional information, there is no explicit mention of any current deals, discounts, or loyalty programs for Wu's Garden. The business relies on its presence as a local Chinese restaurant offering standard combination meals. While some customers might have historically chosen Wu's Garden for convenience or a perceived quick fix, the recent negative reviews could significantly impact its appeal. The historical patronage, as indicated by a monthly customer, might have been a form of organic promotion, but the severity of recent complaints may counteract any positive word-of-mouth. The stated intention of customers to "doordash from somewhere else in the future" or to "never trust a drive through Chinese place" (in reference to this experience) suggests a potential decline in customer loyalty and reputation. The very public nature of negative online reviews acts as a powerful deterrent, overshadowing any informal promotional efforts. The restaurant's sustained operation indicates some level of business, but the recent feedback highlights critical areas that would need to be addressed to attract and retain satisfied customers.
In summary, Wu's Garden, located at 2507 SW Cherry Park Rd, Troutdale, OR 97060, USA, and contactable at (503) 618-7663 or +1 503-618-7663, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer feedback. While some patrons have noted positive interactions with front-of-house staff, particularly a "very nice" lady at the front, severe concerns have been raised regarding food quality. Specific complaints include discolored meat, stale rice, overly fishy fried items, tough and refried chicken, and particularly foul-tasting frying oil that impacted multiple dishes. These issues have led to strong dissatisfaction, fear of food poisoning, and a declared intent by some customers to cease patronage and seek alternatives. There is no clear information about the restaurant's dining environment beyond its likely focus on takeout/delivery. Promotional efforts, if any, are not detailed, with recent negative experiences potentially undermining any positive reputation it may have held. Potential customers should consider the range of reviews when deciding whether to order from Wu's Garden.

I ordered the #6 Dinner combo. I eat here maybe once a month the past few. I dont wanna complain cuz its drunk food for me. But today was the last straw. The lady at the front is always very nice. But two or three times now the food is not good quality at all. See pictures. The pork should be pink, it's clearly discolored. The rice was stale, like day old. The fried shrimp was okay, but the smell is overly fishy. The general tsao chicken was sub par and tasted tough like it had been refried. Maybe I wasn't drunk enough to enjoy it! Lmao Just from the looks of the pork im worried about all the meat! I could barely eat anything for fear of food poisoning. If this was my restaurant I would not give disclored meat. So disappointed. I will probably doordash from somewhere else in the future. Was fun while it lasted Wu. Good luck.
I ordered a number 6 and a number 8 and everything that we had that was fried treated like it had been cooked in the oldest nastiest fry oil I've ever had the displeasure of tasting. Then when I called to ask about a refund I was told no and that they change their oil once a week and nobody else complained that day so it was "my problem". I'm upset and I will be going down there to get my money back. I'll update this review later so everyone can know how things went.
We ordered orange chicken and it tastes like straight fried flour. The chicken was disgusting and it tasted like it’s low quality. I would not recommend eating here unless it’s the only option. Please go to a different restaurant to eat.
Very reasonable ($10.95) and delicious
Absolutely the worst Chinese food dinner we have ever experienced. Ordered the house fried rice and the house Lomein. Very bland and tasteless. Even the fortune cookies were stale and chewy. 5 years ago food was excellent! Don't know what happened? Server did box up what we had left over. Took it straight outside an dropped it in the trash can outside. Do not recommend!
