About Wow Bao Ghost Kitchen
Wow Bao Ghost Kitchen, operating out of the address 2855 Augustine Dr in Santa Clara, California, functions as a delivery-only Chinese restaurant, categorized under the Chinese Restaurant platform. This establishment, identified as a "ghost kitchen," suggests that it focuses solely on food preparation for delivery and does not offer a traditional dine-in experience. Based on the available customer reviews, there appear to be significant concerns regarding the food quality, portion sizes, and overall value provided by Wow Bao Ghost Kitchen.
One customer expressed considerable disappointment with their order, describing a "tiny little bowl" where rice was disproportionately placed on top of a "little poor vegetable" portion at the bottom. This suggests issues with the quantity and balance of ingredients in their meal. Furthermore, this reviewer reported that all the food arrived at a "cold temperature," indicating potential problems with delivery handling or food preparation timing. The reviewer's final assessment was that the food tasted "like microwave food," implying a lack of freshness and quality in the preparation.
Another reviewer focused on the quality of specific dishes, particularly criticizing the white rice as being improperly cooked, stating, "The only 'wow' for this place is for how they’re unable to cook white rice properly." They described the orange chicken and Kung Pao bowls they ordered as "complete let-downs." While they found the flavor to be "ok," they noted that the chicken was "minced very fine," suggesting a less desirable texture or quality of meat. The rice in these bowls was described as "unbelievably soggy and overcooked," further detracting from the meal. This reviewer even made a direct comparison to Panda Express, suggesting that Wow Bao Ghost Kitchen would "easily lose" due to the perceived inferior quality and quantity of meat and vegetables, as well as the inconsistent rice preparation.
A third reviewer assessed the potstickers and bao, which are prominently featured in the restaurant's name. They found these items to be only "just OK." Specifically, they mentioned the ginger chicken potstickers and a variety of different bao. Despite the restaurant's name suggesting a specialty in bao, this reviewer found the "bao dough was stiff, not fluffy like you could expect from any dim sum place." The filling was described as "fine but nothing to write home about." Similarly, the potstickers were deemed unremarkable. This feedback indicates that even the dishes the restaurant's name highlights may not meet typical expectations for quality and texture.
Adding a crucial piece of context, the final sentence of one review states, "If it makes any difference, they’re a ghost kitchen operating out of Sizzler." This reveals that Wow Bao Ghost Kitchen does not have its own independent physical restaurant space but rather operates its delivery service from within an existing Sizzler restaurant. This operational model might influence the preparation methods or the overall focus on delivery versus traditional restaurant dining. The reviewer's concluding advice was to order from "any local Chinese place or even *gasp* Panda!" further underscoring their dissatisfaction with Wow Bao Ghost Kitchen.
Based on these reviews, several significant features and potential drawbacks of Wow Bao Ghost Kitchen can be identified. Firstly, it operates as a ghost kitchen out of a Sizzler location, meaning it is solely focused on delivery. Secondly, there are significant concerns about the food quality, with reports of cold delivery, a "microwave food" taste, improperly cooked rice (both soggy and disproportionate in bowls), and minced chicken. Thirdly, even the signature items like bao and potstickers have received mediocre reviews, with the bao dough described as stiff and the fillings as unremarkable. Fourthly, portion sizes appear to be an issue, with one reviewer describing a "tiny little bowl" with a minimal amount of vegetables. Finally, the overall value and quality are questioned, with one reviewer suggesting that alternative options, including other local Chinese restaurants and even Panda Express, would be preferable.
Given its status as a ghost kitchen, there is no environment to describe in terms of a physical dining space. The services are limited to food preparation and delivery, and the reviews suggest potential issues with the quality and temperature of the delivered food. The primary feature implied by the name, a specialization in bao, does not seem to be reflected in the customer feedback.
The provided information does not include any details about promotional offers or special deals that Wow Bao Ghost Kitchen might be running. As a delivery-only operation, they might utilize online delivery platforms for promotions, which local users would need to check on those specific services.
In conclusion, Wow Bao Ghost Kitchen in Santa Clara appears to be a delivery-only Chinese restaurant operating out of a Sizzler location that has received largely negative feedback from recent customers. Concerns have been raised about food quality, temperature upon delivery, portion sizes, and the preparation of key items like rice, bao, and potstickers. Local users considering ordering from this establishment should be aware of these reported issues and may want to explore alternative Chinese food options in the Santa Clara area.

Tiny little bowl with rice on the top and little poor vegetable on the bottom 🙄️ Cold temperature for all food when delivered too And they taste like microwave food
The only "wow" for this place is for how they’re unable to cook white rice properly. The orange chicken and Kung Pao bowls we ordered were complete let-downs. Flavor was ok but chicken was minced very fine and the rice was unbelievably soggy and overcooked. If it were a contest between their version and Panda Express', they would easily lose to the big chunks of meat and vegetables (and even plain rice!) consistently offered at Panda. The potstickers and bao were just OK. We got the ginger chicken potstickers and a variety of different bao. You'd think if they named a place after a dish, that's the one thing they do better than anybody else. Sadly, this is not the case. The bao dough was stiff, not fluffy like you could expect from any dim sum place. The filling was fine but nothing to write home about. Same with the potstickers. If it makes any difference, they’re a ghost kitchen operating out of Sizzler. You'd be better off ordering from any local Chinese place or even *gasp* Panda!
I ordered the bowl, bao and some potstickers. I tasted all 6 flavors and I have to say all of them tastes strange, and in a bad way. They are either too sweet, too sour or too salty. If you want to taste this as Chinese food, save yourself some trouble and find another place. I don't know if people would appreciate it as American food, at least it's worse than panda express.
For just the bao and potstickers it was yummy, however we also ordered rice and an orange chicken bowl and neither came in our order. Judging from the other reviews though this may actually have improved our experience
If I could give negative stars I would. This place works out of sizzler and they said they just microwave the food. It's the most disappointing and disgusting food I've ever spit out. My family isnt picky but we definitely dont like food that's looks and tastes like wet cat/dog food. And they cant cook white rice right.
