About Woohao Chinese Restaurant
Welcome to Woohao Chinese Restaurant, a local establishment situated at 427 Gellert Blvd, Daly City, CA 94015, USA. As a Chinese restaurant serving the Daly City community, Woohao aims to provide a satisfying dining experience with a focus on fresh and flavorful Cantonese cuisine. Based on initial customer feedback, Woohao has the potential to surprise and delight those seeking authentic Chinese flavors in the area.
One family's first experience at Woohao Chinese Restaurant was overwhelmingly positive. They found the food to be notably "fresh and taste good," expressing satisfaction with every menu item they tried. Their initial expectations were exceeded, as they were pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness of the food, comparing it favorably to other Chinese restaurants they have visited in the area. This positive initial impression suggests that Woohao prioritizes the quality and taste of their dishes, making it a promising option for local diners.
Another customer's review focused on their experience with Woohao as a new dim sum option. They noted that the dim sum was generally "good often" but acknowledged that there could be "hits and misses." The variety of dim sum items they sampled included classic favorites such as shrimp dumplings (har gow), siu mai, "congress" (the specific item is unclear but likely a local or menu-specific name), rice noodles (cheung fun), beef tripe, and chives dumplings. The fact that they tried a diverse selection indicates a reasonably comprehensive dim sum menu at Woohao.
The reviewer also highlighted a "special dish" of fried noodles, which they found "wonderful" on one occasion but only "so so" on another (accompanied by a picture, though the visual information is not available here). This inconsistency in the fried noodles suggests that while some dishes might be consistently excellent, others might vary in quality from one visit to the next. This is an important point for potential customers to consider, as it indicates a possibility of variability in the dining experience.
In terms of service, the feedback was positive, with the reviewer describing the waiter and waitress as "friendly and responsive." Attentive and pleasant service can significantly enhance the overall dining experience, and this positive mention suggests that the staff at Woohao Chinese Restaurant strive to create a welcoming atmosphere for their patrons.
A key characteristic identified by the reviewer is that Woohao Restaurant leans more towards "Canton style than Hong Kong style." This distinction is important for those familiar with the nuances of Chinese cuisine, as Cantonese (Guangdong) and Hong Kong styles, while related, can have differences in preparation, ingredients, and flavor profiles. This information helps set expectations for diners who have specific preferences for one style over the other.
The reviewer concluded by recommending Woohao to those "looking for a new dim sum restaurant to try," despite their observation of occasional inconsistencies. This suggests that the positive aspects of their experience, such as the generally good dim sum and friendly service, outweighed the occasional "misses."
Notably, the review mentioned a specific promotional offer: "$35 for two fish dishes makes a good deal." This is valuable information for potential customers, indicating that Woohao Chinese Restaurant offers special pricing on certain items, in this case, fish dishes. Such promotions can provide an incentive for diners to try specific parts of the menu and can offer good value for money. It is advisable for interested customers to inquire about the availability and details of this and any other ongoing promotions when contacting or visiting the restaurant.
The reviewer also speculated about the possibility of "team A and team B" for the restaurant, based on their experienced "hits and misses." While this is just a personal observation and not confirmed information, it highlights the potential for variability in food quality depending on the kitchen staff on duty.
Woohao Chinese Restaurant can be contacted by phone at (650) 878-2888 or mobile at +1 650-878-2888. Their address is 427 Gellert Blvd, Daly City, CA 94015, USA, placing them in a visible and accessible location on a well-known street in Daly City. These contact details are essential for making reservations (if needed), inquiring about the menu or daily specials, and arranging for takeout or delivery services, although delivery is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews.
As a Chinese restaurant with a focus on Cantonese style and dim sum, Woohao likely offers a broad menu that includes not only a variety of steamed, fried, and baked dim sum items but also classic Cantonese dishes such as stir-fries, soups, noodle and rice dishes, and possibly seafood specialties, given the mention of a fish dish promotion. The emphasis on fresh food, as noted by one reviewer, suggests a commitment to using quality ingredients in their preparations.
Information regarding the environment or ambiance of Woohao Chinese Restaurant is limited in the provided reviews. However, based on the mention of dine-in service and the friendly nature of the staff, it can be inferred that they offer a welcoming space for customers to enjoy their meals. As a local restaurant, it likely aims to provide a comfortable and casual setting for families and individuals alike. Specific details about decor, seating capacity, or noise levels are not available.
In terms of services, Woohao Chinese Restaurant offers dine-in service and appears to be accommodating and responsive based on the positive feedback about the waitstaff. While not explicitly stated, it is reasonable to assume that they also offer takeout services, given that most Chinese restaurants cater to this demand. Delivery options are not mentioned in the reviews, so it would be best to confirm with the restaurant directly if this service is available.
The $35 for two fish dishes promotion is a notable feature that could attract customers looking for value on seafood options. It is worth inquiring about the specifics of this deal, such as the types of fish dishes included and any terms or conditions that may apply. Keeping an eye out for other potential promotions or daily specials could also enhance the dining experience at Woohao.
In conclusion, Woohao Chinese Restaurant in Daly City presents itself as a promising option for those seeking fresh and flavorful Cantonese cuisine, particularly dim sum. While one reviewer noted some inconsistency in a specific dish, the overall feedback highlights the deliciousness of the food and the friendliness of the service. The Cantonese style and the presence of a fish dish promotion add unique aspects to their offering. Local residents looking for a new Chinese dining experience, especially those with an affinity for Cantonese flavors and dim sum, should consider giving Woohao Chinese Restaurant a try.

The first time for our family. The food is fresh and taste good. We love every menu. We didn't expect much but you make me surprised. Your food is super delicious as any Chinese food I ' very ever been in this area.
We were looking for a new dim sum restaurant to try and found this dim sum . Dim sum was good often but can have hits and misses. We tried the shrimp dumpling, siu mai, congress, rice noodles, beef tribes, chives dumpling. The special dish fried noodles was wonderful one time and so so the other time (see picture). The waiter and waitress are friendly and responsive. This restaurant is more Canton style than Hong Kong style. Recommend if you are looking for a new dim sum restaurant to try. The $35 for two fish dishes makes a good deal. We have experienced some hits and misses, and wonder if there maybe a team A and team B for the restaurant.
Dim sum in Daly City, Serramonte area. Dim sum was very good at a reasonable price. The Chinese broccoli was well prepared and delicious. The glutinous sticky rice with chicken in lotus leave was very good with Chinese style sausage. And the baked durian puff was acceptable. We have visit this place lately and the food quality has gone down. The shrimp dumplings now seems to have very little dumplings and the special chicken on dry leaves we ordered the half chicken but it seems that they mixed other vegetables and reduced the amount of chicken
Wow, Woohao is a hidden treasure! Their dim sum is seriously delicious, and when you add their mouthwatering chicken dishes into the mix, it's a match made in foodie heaven. Seriously, each bite is bursting with flavor, and the chicken? Oh, so tender! Whether you're catching up with friends or treating yourself to a solo dining adventure, Woohao's got you covered. Trust me, you won't regret it! Five big stars from this satisfied customer!
Standard Chinese restaurant serving traditional Chinese food on Gellert next to the 7 Eleven, Woo Hao translates to "hoh hoh sihk jao louw" in Cantonese from the chinese characters. They took over from that old, dark, and tired Chinese place. "Fung Wong", as I recall, that had been there for years. They offer dim sim, lunch items, and dinner service. They even have some tanks for keeping live seafood. We went here for dim sum with some chow fun and fried rice noodles as a "main course.". OveralI,we would give the food a B with some B minuses thrown in. The chow fun was well prepared, but the fried rice noodles were too oily. One main characteristic of the food is that many items seem to be slightly undercooked. It's as if they took things off the burner, out of the wok or steamer, or out of oven 30 seconds too early. Everything looks good on the outside, but when you take a bite, you realize that it was just a bit underdone. That was our experience. I'm not sure if others had the same issue The dining room is moderately sized. Parking can be a problem as the parking lot is small and neighborhood parking is taken by the residents in the area. Woo Hao is certainly not a destination restaurant, but if you're looking for decent and traditional Chinese fare after finishing shopping at Serramonte mall, give Woo Hao a try.... if you can find a place to park.
