About Wong's Garden

Wong's Garden, situated at 10820 SE Oak St in Portland, Oregon, serves as a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, offering takeout services to the surrounding community. While specific details regarding the restaurant's ambiance and dine-in environment are not provided in the available reviews, the focus of customer feedback revolves around the quality and taste of their food, as well as the efficiency of their service.

Based on the limited reviews, experiences at Wong's Garden appear to be somewhat varied. One customer who opted for takeout expressed a highly positive initial impression, noting that the food was "very tasty" and perceived to be of "high quality." This reviewer specifically highlighted the use of fresh vegetables as a significant factor contributing to the overall positive experience, stating that it "makes all the difference." Furthermore, this customer found the service to be "quick and good" and concluded that Wong's Garden might be their "new favorite Chinese place," indicating a strong level of satisfaction with their takeout order.

In contrast, another customer's experience was considerably less favorable. This review detailed a meal costing $35 plus a $5 tip, totaling $40, which included several dishes. The General Taos chicken was described as "not that great or crunchy," while the white rice was deemed "decent." The crab puffs were considered "meh," suggesting a lack of distinct flavor or appeal. Most concerningly, the pork fried rice was so unsatisfactory that the reviewer's wife stopped eating it after only a couple of bites, citing an "off" color of the meat and an unpleasant taste. This strongly negative feedback led the reviewer to the firm conclusion of "Definitely not going back. Avoid!"

Considering these contrasting reviews, it is challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of Wong's Garden. The positive review emphasizes the use of fresh vegetables and the tasty nature of the food, along with quick and good service for takeout. This suggests that, at least for some customers and certain dishes, Wong's Garden can provide a satisfying experience. The freshness of ingredients is often a key indicator of quality in Chinese cuisine, and this positive feedback should be acknowledged.

However, the negative review raises significant concerns regarding the quality and taste of several dishes, including the General Taos chicken, crab puffs, and particularly the pork fried rice. The description of the meat in the fried rice as having an "off" color and tasting bad is a serious issue that would understandably deter a customer from returning. The fact that multiple dishes in a single order were found to be subpar suggests potential inconsistencies in food preparation or ingredient quality.

Given the limited information available, it is not possible to ascertain whether the positive or negative experience is more representative of the typical customer experience at Wong's Garden. The stark contrast between the two reviews highlights the inherent variability that can sometimes occur in the restaurant industry. Potential customers might find it beneficial to consider these differing perspectives when making a decision.

Without further information or a broader range of customer feedback, it is difficult to elaborate on the environment or any specific features of the restaurant beyond what can be gleaned from these two contrasting experiences.

In conclusion, Wong's Garden is a Chinese restaurant in Portland offering takeout. One customer praised the tasty food, fresh vegetables, and quick service, while another reported significant issues with the quality and taste of several dishes, leading to a very negative overall experience. Potential customers should be aware of these differing opinions when considering Wong's Garden for their Chinese food needs.

Paid 35$ plus tip to be 40$. General Taos chicken was not that great or crunchy, white rice decent. Crab puffs were meh. The pork fried rice my wife stopped eating a couple bites in. The meat looked off in color and it did not taste good. Definitely not going back. Avoid!

Hi was so disappointed, It has been quite a while since I have ordered from Wong's on Oak, So I did expect the same quality of the food I have gotten before. I have to say everything I ordered fried shrimp, egg rolls, BBQ pork, BBQ pork egg foo young, pork chow main, that didn't even come with dry noodles, this time. The food had NO Chinese flavor and the batter on the fried shrimp was 1/4 inch thick. I used to get food there at least twice a week, but Never again !!! I paid $100 plus a $10 tip The food was not even worth one star..

Tucked away in the corner of a small strip mall you will find this quiet little restaurant. The staff is always friendly. The food portions are large.

Great service, great food. Love this place. Difficulty not a fancy romantic place but good for families or large groups.we normally take our to go. The parking lot can be a jam up. Right off the express way easy access... would recommend this place to a friend.
