About Wonder Wu

Wonder Wu is a Chinese restaurant situated at 5612 Georgetown Rd in Indianapolis, IN 46254, serving the local community with a variety of Chinese cuisine. Based on recent online reviews, customer experiences appear to be somewhat mixed, with positive feedback on service speed and certain dishes contrasted by dissatisfaction with the preparation and flavor of others.

One customer, who visited Wonder Wu based on other online opinions, expressed significant disappointment with their meal. They specifically critiqued the General Tso chicken, stating that it tasted more like orange chicken with ginger, suggesting a potential use of sweet and sour chicken as a base. This individual found the flavor to be significantly off from what they expected of General Tso chicken and ultimately deemed it not good. Additionally, they noted that the rice seemed to have been sitting for an extended period, implying a lack of freshness. However, this reviewer did mention that their wife found the chicken lo mein to be "pretty good," indicating some variability in the quality of different dishes.

In contrast, another customer had a positive experience, praising the "fast service with amazing food." This reviewer specifically mentioned a craving for and enjoyment of the dumplings and pork lo mein, describing them as "delicious." They further stated that despite the presence of many Chinese food establishments, Wonder Wu is "definitely a great one." This positive feedback highlights the potential for a satisfying meal at this restaurant, particularly with dishes like dumplings and pork lo mein.

Considering these two recent reviews, Wonder Wu seems to offer fast service, which can be a significant advantage for customers looking for a quick meal. The quality of the food, however, appears to be inconsistent. While some dishes, like the chicken lo mein, dumplings, and pork lo mein, have received positive feedback, others, notably the General Tso chicken and rice, have been criticized for their flavor and freshness. This suggests that the experience at Wonder Wu may depend on the specific dishes ordered.

The reviews do not provide specific details about the environment or ambiance of Wonder Wu. As a typical Chinese restaurant, it likely offers a casual dining area for customers who wish to eat on-site. The focus seems to be more on the food and service speed, given the limited information about the atmosphere.

The services offered by Wonder Wu likely include dine-in and takeout. The positive mention of fast service suggests efficiency in order preparation, which would benefit both dine-in and takeout customers. It is reasonable to assume that they also offer phone orders, given the provided phone numbers: (317) 295-9598 and +1 317-295-9598. Information about delivery services or online ordering is not available in the provided reviews.

No specific promotional information was mentioned by either reviewer. Chinese restaurants often have lunch specials, combination deals, or discounts for certain order amounts. To inquire about any current promotions or special offers at Wonder Wu, it would be best to contact them directly using the phone numbers provided. Potential customers could also ask about the preparation methods of specific dishes, such as the General Tso chicken, to better understand what to expect.

In conclusion, Wonder Wu in Indianapolis offers the advantage of fast service and has received positive feedback for certain menu items like chicken lo mein, dumplings, and pork lo mein. However, there are also reports of inconsistency in food quality, with one customer expressing significant dissatisfaction with the General Tso chicken and the freshness of the rice. Local users considering Wonder Wu might want to take these mixed reviews into account and perhaps inquire about the preparation of specific dishes when ordering. For those prioritizing speed and convenience, and potentially sticking to dishes that have received positive mentions, Wonder Wu could be a viable option for Chinese cuisine in the Georgetown Road area of Indianapolis.

Read reviews and went off of you alls opinions and I’m dissatisfied. The general tso chicken tastes like orange chicken and ginger. In fact you can tell they use the sweet and sour chicken as general tso. Never tasted General TSO that off in flavor. It wasn’t good to me. Rice seemed like it had been sitting all day. My wife said her chicken lo mein was pretty good however.

Fast service with amazing food. Was craving it last time and I had to go get some dumplings and pork lo mein. It was delicious. There is a lot of Chinese food place but this place is definitely a great one.

Haven't ordered here for maybe 3 months. I called in a delivery order, told her what I wanted, she said my total was $19.07. As I'm reaching for my debit card, she's asking if I'd like to order something else, like a soda, to reach the $20 delivery minimum. I asked her to repeat it, in case I heard wrong, but no... I said 'since when? It's been $10 minimum' She asked about a soda, or did i want to pick up? I told her to cancel my order. I may order in the future, if I'm already out & can pick up on my way home, but I'll never do delivery here at that cost. Sorry!

I heard about Wonder Wu through the suggestions from other local guides. The General Tso chicken (which was indicicated as "hot" has a pretty good flavor but very lacking when it comes to heat level. The sweet and sour chicken was decent, but they use the average red sauce everywhere else uses. Their fried rice is quite good, but their seafood was some of the worst I've had from anywhere, over cooked and swimming in a watered-down butter, I was Nauseated all night. Overall I gave it 3 stars for the good quality chicken matched with the best fried rice but couldnt get over the seafood dish.

First, and LAST time. Waited over an hour for average, maybe even less than average food. I called in an order for pick up at 6:50 pm on a Friday night. I was told it would be ready in 15. When I arrived, there were about 4 people were in line ahead of me, the phone was ringing off the hook. As the rain POURED so the people also poured in, one after another. I paid for my food and proceeded to wait for 45 minutes while everyone who came in after me (about 12 people, I counted) received their order and left. Finally, I approached the counter and asked about my order only to find that it had been sitting on their back table overlooked the entire time. 7:57 pm...an hour an 7 minutes after I ordered. When I got home, my food was almost room temperature; I had to warm it up! And it wasn't even good...just standard Americanized Chinese takeout. I am less than pleased. 2 things were good: 1. I stayed long enough for the rain to let up, and 2. I chatted with an other man the whole time I waited who was rather interesting. He ordered just after me and received his food only moments prior to me. My only hope is his food was better than mine. I will not be back, ever.
