About Wonder Life 我们川菜馆
Welcome to Wonder Life 我们川菜馆, a Chinese Restaurant located at 5118 7th Ave in Brooklyn, NY. While categorized as a Chinese Restaurant, we specialize in the flavorful and often spicy cuisine of the Szechuan region, aiming to provide a unique dining experience for local users.
Customers have shared enthusiastic reviews about the food at Wonder Life 我们川菜馆. One reviewer, who admits they don't typically enjoy Szechuan food, found this place to be "INCREDIBLE." The meal begins with complimentary appetizers of "incredible" pickled cabbage and roasted peanuts, along with hot tea. They do advise caution with the fresh black peppercorn pods due to their numbing effect.
This reviewer sampled a variety of dishes, including spicy fish filet stew, dry pot of cauliflower, cold roast beef tongue in garlic and pepper sauce, stir-fried noodles with beef, boiled chicken in chili oil, shredded potato stir-fry salad, West Lake style beef soup (西湖牛肉羹 with cilantro, minced beef, and eggs), and Kung Pao chicken. They specifically praised the beef noodles as "AMAZING" and found the unassuming West Lake beef soup to be "so warm and amazing." The boiled chicken in chili oil was noted for being "so tender and soft" with a chili oil that was "not too spicy" and "very enjoyable." This customer even declared it the "best meal we had in Brooklyn," discovered by chance.
However, another customer who visited twice had a more mixed experience. They found the food to be "okay" on both occasions but considered it "quite over priced." They also mentioned that during their first visit, the portion sizes were "very little," and there were discrepancies with the pricing on the menus.
Based on these reviews, Wonder Life 我们川菜馆 appears to offer a Szechuan culinary experience with some standout dishes and complimentary appetizers that are highly praised. The environment seems conducive to enjoying a full meal. However, potential customers should be aware of possible higher pricing and the reported issues with portion sizes and menu pricing from one reviewer. Services likely include dine-in, and possibly takeout, given the nature of a restaurant. Currently, no specific promotional information is available. Honestly, I don't even like Szechuan food but this place is INCREDIBLE. The meal starts out with complimentary appetizers of pickled cabbage and roasted peanuts with hot tea. These were incredible. Avoid the pods of fresh black peppercorns though, unless you want a numb mouth. We ordered spicy fish filet stew, dry pot of cauliflower, cold roast beef tongue in garlic and pepper sauce, stir-fried noodles with beef, boiled chicken in chili oil, shredded potato stir-fry salad, West Lake style beef soup 西湖牛肉羹 (cilantro, minced beef and eggs in soup), Kung Pao chicken. The beef noodles were AMAZING. The West Lake beef soup looked unassuming, but it was so warm and amazing too. We received the boiled chicken in chili oil, which was so tender and soft. The chili oil was not too spicy and it was very enjoyable. Honestly, this was the best meal we had in Brooklyn and we came upon it by accident!
Came here two times. Both time drbe food was okay. But quite over priced. The 1st time there was very little food. Also the pricing on the menus are wrong.
Let me talk about my first impression when I came in. I thought I would just grab a bite to eat, but the decoration style in the store was ordinary or even not very nice. We who often eat Sichuan food were very surprised when we got the menu. So expensive? ! More expensive than a Sichuan restaurant in Manhattan. I was a little afraid to order it. I wanted to leave but was embarrassed, so I ordered it. The taste is actually delicious and the portion is not small. Bullfrogs smell delicious. The service is also very good. If the price could be lowered to normal, it would be a really delicious Sichuan restaurant (we were the only ones at the table when we came)
It tastes great and is very affordable. We will check in frequently.
Not a single customer in the store came in and regretted it after seeing the menu. Husband and wife’s beef slices are $16, and Spicy Space is only $10. The dishes are not just one or two dollars different from other restaurants, but several dollars different. Our table was the only one eating in the restaurant, and the boss and his wife had to eat next to us during meal time. The tables in the store are not easy to sit on and have a SB design that doesn’t hold your feet. Dishes are expensive and limited.
