About Wok of China
Welcome to Wok of China, a Chinese restaurant situated at 5030 Glencrossing Way in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, Wok of China aims to provide a variety of Chinese dishes to the community. They can be contacted at (513) 922-2288 or via mobile at +1 513-922-2288 for inquiries and orders.
Specific details about the ambiance and environment of Wok of China are not extensively described in the provided customer reviews. However, based on the positive feedback regarding the staff's friendliness during order pickup, it suggests a welcoming and efficient service at the counter. Typically, Chinese restaurants aim to create a comfortable setting for customers picking up orders, and potentially for those dining in, although no information is available about the dine-in experience at Wok of China.
In terms of services, Wok of China offers online ordering, as mentioned by a satisfied customer who found the process convenient and the food ready upon arrival. This indicates that they provide options for customers to place orders remotely for pickup. While not explicitly stated, it is common for Chinese restaurants to also offer takeout services for orders placed over the phone. Delivery service availability is not mentioned in the reviews, so it would be best to inquire directly with the restaurant regarding their delivery options and service area. The experience of one customer also highlights the importance of clarity regarding payment methods, as Wok of China has a policy of charging a 4% fee for credit card usage, which is indicated by a sign at the cash register.
Customer reviews regarding the food quality at Wok of China present a mixed perspective. One customer had a highly positive experience, stating that their food, ordered online, was "hot" and "tastes so good." They specifically recommended Wok of China, giving a perfect 10/10 rating. This suggests that Wok of China is capable of providing enjoyable and well-prepared meals.
However, another customer expressed extreme disappointment with their order, which included Garlic Broccoli, Vegetable Chow Mein with Tofu, two Egg Rolls, and Subgum Vegetable Soup. While they found the Garlic Broccoli to be "phenomenal," they reported significant issues with the transaction. They claimed to have been overcharged by a substantial amount compared to the prices listed on the restaurant's website menu at the time of their order (November 2021). Furthermore, they stated that they were not given a receipt at the time of pickup, making it difficult to understand the discrepancy in pricing.
This negative experience was compounded by the discovery of the 4% credit card fee, which was not communicated over the phone when the order was placed. Although the fee itself did not account for the entire overcharge, the customer felt it was a significant deterrent. Their attempt to resolve the overcharge by presenting the printed website menu at the restaurant was unsuccessful. They reported that the staff acknowledged the website menu was incorrect (blaming a third party) but refused to provide a receipt or a refund for the difference. They were shown a different menu in-house, which reportedly did not list many of the items they had ordered from the online menu. Ultimately, this customer had to file a dispute with their credit card company to resolve the overcharge issue, leading them to conclude that they would never purchase food from Wok of China again due to the "untrustworthy nature" of the transaction.
The features of Wok of China seem to include online ordering and a potentially varied menu, as suggested by the different dishes ordered by the reviewers. The positive review highlights the potential for tasty and well-prepared food, with specific mentions of the good taste of the overall order. However, the negative review points to potential issues with menu accuracy between online and in-house versions, as well as concerns regarding pricing transparency and customer service in resolving billing discrepancies. The 4% credit card fee is also a notable feature that customers should be aware of when considering their payment options.
Currently, there is no information available regarding specific promotional offers or discounts at Wok of China. Customers interested in any potential specials or deals should inquire directly with the restaurant via phone or check their website (if available) for any advertised promotions. The significant discrepancy experienced by one customer between the online menu price and the charged price serves as a cautionary note for future customers to verify their order total and request a receipt at the time of purchase.
In conclusion, Wok of China in Cincinnati offers Chinese cuisine with services including online ordering and potentially takeout and dine-in. While one customer praised the friendly staff and the taste of their food, another reported significant issues with overcharging, a lack of receipt, discrepancies between online and in-house menus, and a refusal to resolve the billing error. Additionally, customers should be aware of the 4% fee for credit card transactions. Local users considering Wok of China should weigh these contrasting experiences and consider verifying their order and payment details carefully. The positive feedback suggests that the food can be enjoyable, but the negative experience highlights potential concerns regarding pricing accuracy and customer service.

Customer Reviews
I ordered online. When I went in the staff was very friendly. My food was hot and bagged ready to go. It tastes so good I am writing this while eating. 10/10 recommend
Extremely disappointed in Wok of China. We used to get food here occasionally but have preferred Dragon City on North Bend for years. Dragon City was closed today, so Wok of China it was. We ordered Garlic Broccoli, Vegetable Chow Mein with Tofu, two Egg Rolls, and Subgum Vegetable Soup. According to the menu currently on their website (as of November 2021), the total for this without tax (and adding $1 for the tofu) should have been $18.35. They charged us $27.30, and since they gave my husband no receipt, we have no idea why. Beware credit card users: there is a sign at the cash register saying they charge 4% if you use a credit card. Since we get 5% cash back on food purchases, this fee negates most of the benefits. (I should note that this fee would add 73 cents to our total, so there are still dollars unaccounted for.) Whether or not you use cash back credit cards, this alone is worth going somewhere else. I should also note that this fee was not communicated to us over the phone before we took the time to drive there and pick our food up. It is such a shame that they overcharged us in two different ways, because the garlic broccoli was phenomenal. However, considering the untrustworthy nature of this last transaction, we will never again buy food at Wok of China. If you decide to risk it, please do yourself a favor and triple-check your order and demand a receipt: you might be overcharged. Edit: We have since tried resolving the overcharge with Wok of China. My husband printed out their menu from their current website and took it down there to show them the discrepancies. They refused to give him a receipt (again), and told him that they know the menu on their website is incorrect (they blamed it on a third party). They also refused a refund of the discrepancy. They showed him a menu they claimed was correct, but it did not have most of the things we ordered on it save for the egg rolls, so we're not sure why they took our order from the old menu to begin with. We ended up filing our first-ever dispute with our credit card company over this and our issue was finally resolved. This whole experience was horrific. Please be careful with your money going here.
Delicious! I know a lot of people are complaining about prices, with Covid and a small business like this, I'm okay with it and do be aware of the 4% credit charge. They have a sign but they don't mention it to you. However, food is ON POINT! Chicken was super crispy, lo mein was awesome. I was sad they don't give a fortune cookie. But the noodles here are MASSIVE! Food was great, prices are comparable to others. I was happy. The man at the register was friendly, food came out quickly, hot, and yummy. Def will be back to this one.
Hole in the wall chinese food. Was bot impressed. Had the shrimp fried rice to go. Terrible! Beggars/ Junkies came in asking for money. Wait time was 1/2 hr with a call in order
Such a special little gem in the plaza! I love this place and will travel from Delhi to get the food and service here. I order the General Tso chicken with white rice all the time. Great portions and delicious food!
