About Wok 'N Express

Welcome to Wok 'N Express, a Chinese restaurant located at 4413 Guadalupe St, Austin, TX 78751, USA. As a local option in the Chinese Restaurant category, Wok 'N Express has received mixed reviews from recent customers regarding their food and service.

One customer who dined in found the food to be "pretty solid" and mentioned trying the beef lo mein and chicken pad Thai. They spent approximately $40 including a tip and indicated a need for a second visit to form a more definitive opinion. However, this customer expressed dissatisfaction with the resistance they encountered when requesting an additional to-go box.

In contrast, another customer who ordered through Uber Eats had a significantly negative experience. They noted a $4 upcharge for adding broccoli to their order and were disappointed to receive only five pieces. The General Tso's sauce was described as watery and overly sweet, unlike the typically thick consistency. The chicken was reported as tough, and the fried rice had an unpleasant smell and only an okay taste. This customer, who recalled a positive experience from a noodle dish ordered a year prior, was highly dissatisfied with their recent $60 order (including delivery fees) and stated they would not order from Wok 'N Express again.

Based on these recent reviews, experiences at Wok 'N Express can vary. While one in-person diner found the food potentially solid, a delivery customer reported significant issues with food quality and value. If you are considering Wok 'N Express, it may be helpful to weigh these recent experiences and potentially try dining in to assess the quality and service for yourself. The food is pretty solid. I will need to give it a second try. Got the beef lo mein and chicken phad Thai. Spent $40 with a tip. The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way from a customer perspective was when I asked for an additional to-go box I was met with strange resistance. I know the cost to run a business are currently high as I run several but I still would put the customer experience first.

Ordered through Uber eats. I wanted to add broccoli to my order, the person working was kind enough to call and ask me if I was willing for the $4 up charge for broccoli, I went for it and was pretty disappointed when it showed up with 5 pieces of broccoli. $1 for a piece of broccoli + a bonus one I suppose. General tso sauce is typically pretty thick and coats the protein and veggies but this one was like watery sweet and sour sauce. Food honestly was bad, watery overly sweet sauce, tough chicken. Fried rice did not smell good, tasted just ok. Sad cause I remember ordering a noodle dish here about a year ago and it blowing me out of the water. I know I’m gonna get scammed a bit when ordering Uber eats but to pay upwards of $60 and walk away unsatisfied is just a bad time. Won’t be spending money here again.

If I could eat the bowl I would. Tons of novelty snacks and drinks inside, I was able to pair this with a delicious Thai Tea. Everything was made fresh and tasted better when it was hot, very excited to eat this tomorrow I feel like it’ll be even better then

Nice people , kind of frustrating delivery experience. Sweet and sour chicken not really what I expected but that’s on me .., chicken was very chewy.. seemed like mostly fatty dark cuts which personally isn’t really my thing.Decent fried rice but I paid and extra 3 to add pork and didn’t get any. The regular fried rice was decent and I liked the dumplings ( they are more like mini dumplings hence the price but still good) Main issue was an hour after I ordered I checked the tracker to see where the food was and it was marked as delivered. I called and they told me they never sent or made the food and apologized. They did throw in some veggie egg rolls to make up for it and the food arrived about 10 minutes after I called but the gesture was somewhat negated by the missing item. Might try it again for take out , probably skip the delivery and fried chicken dishes tho .

I came here for the first time for some late night noms this evening and was blown away by the whole experience. The service was super friendly and prompt, the food was phenomenal! I genuinely felt like the quality was was way beyond just simple Asian takeout fare. You definitely get your bang for your buck here, and without a doubt I will be back for more :)
