About Wok Express
Wok Express is a Chinese restaurant located at 11538 Telegraph Road in Santa Fe Springs, California (zip code 90670). As a "Chinese Restaurant," the name "Wok Express" suggests a focus on providing quick and efficient service, likely specializing in American-Chinese cuisine that is prepared in a wok. They can be contacted at (562) 807-0055 or their mobile number +1 562-807-0055 for inquiries about their menu, ordering for takeout or potential delivery, and their operating hours.
Chinese restaurants like Wok Express typically offer a variety of familiar dishes such as chow mein, fried rice, a range of meat, poultry, and seafood entrees prepared with various sauces, as well as soups and appetizers. The "Express" designation often implies a casual setting where food is readily available, catering to customers looking for a fast meal, whether for dining in or taking away.
Customer reviews for Wok Express present a somewhat mixed picture, highlighting both strengths and significant areas for potential improvement. One reviewer described it as a "solid casual spot for very fast quality pickup!" They noted that it is a "nice solid American Chinese restaurant" with "ample seating" for those wishing to dine in, but also very efficient for quick takeout due to everything being "ready made." This positive review specifically praised the wonton soup with shrimp, mentioning fresh vegetables, excellent shrimp, jumbo wontons, and a well-seasoned broth. The reviewer concluded by recommending Wok Express for its speed, affordability, freshness, and taste, even suggesting it as a better option than Yoshinoya.
However, another reviewer, who had been a regular customer during lunch breaks and usually ordered soup, shared a significantly negative experience that led them to decide not to return. This customer recounted an incident where they ordered a one-item combo but were immediately served a large plate without being given the opportunity to request a bowl (due to preferring smaller portions for health reasons, being diabetic). They reported receiving attitude from the server when they explained their preference, with the server allegedly talking about them in another language behind their back. The situation escalated when the server assumed the method of payment and charged incorrectly before rectifying it but still charging for the larger plate. The reviewer also mentioned being made to wait for chopsticks. This overwhelmingly negative service experience, coupled with a perception that the food quality is not the "greatest," led to a firm decision not to patronize Wok Express again, citing a lack of respect for customers.
Based on these reviews, the environment of Wok Express appears to be casual and functional, suitable for both quick takeout and potentially dine-in, with "ample seating" available. The positive reviewer's description suggests a standard American-Chinese fast-casual setup where food is pre-prepared for efficient service. However, the negative review does not provide any specific details about the physical environment but focuses entirely on the poor customer service interaction.
In terms of services, Wok Express clearly offers takeout, which is praised for its speed and efficiency. Dine-in is also an option, given the mention of ample seating. Delivery services are not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, so it is unclear whether Wok Express provides this directly or through third-party platforms. The negative review highlights a significant failure in customer service, particularly in handling order modifications and demonstrating respect for customer preferences and health needs. Potential customers might want to be aware of this reported negative service experience.
Features of Wok Express, according to the positive review, include fast service, affordable prices, and fresh, tasty food, particularly the wonton soup with shrimp. The availability of ready-made food facilitates quick pickup. However, the negative review contradicts the notion of consistently great food quality and highlights a severe lack of customer service skills in at least one staff member. The price point is mentioned as "a good deal" by the negative reviewer as well, suggesting that affordability might be a consistent feature, but it is overshadowed by the poor service and perceived mediocre food quality in their experience.
Regarding promotional information, the provided reviews do not mention any specific promotions or special offers. Fast food restaurants often utilize various marketing strategies to attract customers, such as lunch specials, combo deals, or discounts on certain items. To learn about any current promotions at Wok Express, it would be best to check if they have a website, social media presence, or to inquire directly when contacting them by phone.
In conclusion, Wok Express in Santa Fe Springs, CA, offers fast and affordable American-Chinese cuisine with options for both takeout and dine-in. While one reviewer praised the speed, affordability, freshness, and taste of the food, particularly the wonton soup, another customer reported a highly negative experience characterized by disrespectful service and perceived mediocre food quality, leading them to vow not to return. Potential customers should be aware of these contrasting experiences. If speed and affordability are primary concerns and the food quality is acceptable, Wok Express might be a convenient option. However, the serious customer service issues reported by one reviewer are a significant factor to consider. It may be prudent to be clear and assertive when placing orders and to hope for a more positive interaction with the staff.

Solid casual spot for very fast quality pickup! This is a nice solid American Chinese restaurant that has ample seeding if you want to sit but is also very fast if you want to run in and grab a plate everything is ready made. I got the wonton soup with shrimp and a one item combo. All vegetables were fresh, shrimp was excellent, wontons were jumbo! Broth was seasoned very well, definitely will go back. Fast, affordable, fresh, tasty, I would skip Yoshinoya and come here.
Price point is a good deal but after today I won’t be returning. I have becoming regularly during my lunch breaks and I usually order the soup. The soup is good, and I changed it up to a bowl here and then but today. I asked for a 1 item and she automatically grabbed a big plate and started serving right away without giving me the chance to explain I would like the bowl. I explained I do not eat big portions, I am diabetic. She gave me attitude and told me to say it right away. Instead of correcting it and explaining to me to ask for a bowl. I understand, my mistake. But, she began talking behind my back in a different language. So disrespectful to the customer and the fact that customers help bring business. At that point, I wanted to leave it was to much. She processed to charge me more because she assumed I would pay with debit card instead of asking, she then fixed it and charged me for the bigger plate. 🤦🏻♀️ I then requested chopsticks, told me Wait. I left, this is such horrible service and the price point is not bad but the quality isn’t the greatest. I will not be returning for the lack of respect and how she treats customers.
My first time stopping into the store. I love, love, love their wonton soup its delicious and great in price. Their combination plates are also a great deal as well. Economical and affordable. There food tastes great too. You must stop by and give it a try!
We have a office party and I order medium size party tray: orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, beef broccoli, fried rice, fried noodles and steak rice for $220. It’s enough to feed 20-25 people. Everyone enjoy the food.
I got a 3 item plate. It was too much food. I really enjoyed the mixed vegetables and mushroom chicken. I loved the noodles! I wish the teriyaki chicken was better. I didn't have room for it anyway. I gave my plate to a lady who looked hungry or lost. I hope she enjoyed it. I definitely do reccomend.
