Wintzell's Oyster House

It's a great seafood place. I didn't use the bathroom, but it seemed clean. The service was pleasant, attentive, and swift. I got a seafood platter. The portions were good, but it just didn't seem like the cook loved seafood. It was all not very hot, overcooked, and just a bit too firm. The breading was heavy and overwhelmed the food. If the crabs were supposed to be soft shell, avoid them because it was like chewing deep fried toenails. I guess that's just my personal preference, so consider that. The atmosphere was great and we all enjoyed our time.

Was out here on Business and came across Wintzell's. Food was great, especially the chargrilled oysters. They were so large and flavorful. The food is well prices and very good. I recommend the popcorn shrimp and fried okra!

Wow! This place is a hidden gem! We were seated without any wait, by the chef himself. Our server was not just friendly, she took the time to chat with us. We ordered the Oyster Sampler to start and they are not lying when they say their Chargrilled Oysters are famous! Definitely our favorite, but the others were delicious as well. Then we ordered the broiled JO Platter with a house salad and fried okra. The salad was so fresh with their house made ranch and croutons. So delicious, I couldn’t stop eating it! We had to get their bread pudding to go because we were so full, but our server told us the best way to serve it. Can’t wait to try it! The service was absolutely fantastic! Wish we had one of these in Atlanta!!

Bri took really good care of us! We loved the food. Everything we had was so tasty. We were in town for 5 days and ate here 3 days out of the 5! The soft shell crab was amazing! The jambalaya was so good The sampler plate was what I had and it was so good! Deep fried pickles were amazing and the bloody Mary was superb!
