About Win's Restaurant

Welcome to Win's Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant situated at 3040 Taraval St in San Francisco, serving the local community with a range of Chinese culinary offerings. Based on customer reviews, Win's Restaurant is gaining recognition for its quality dishes, particularly certain specialties, offered at reasonable prices. It is also noted to be under new ownership, which might indicate potential changes or improvements to the dining experience. If you are a local user seeking a Chinese restaurant that provides good value for money and excels in specific dishes, Win's Restaurant is worth considering.

One of the standout items at Win's Restaurant, according to multiple customers, is their fried rice, especially the chicken fried rice. It is described as "really good," suggesting a well-prepared and flavorful version of this classic Chinese staple. If you are a fan of fried rice and looking for a satisfying rendition, Win's Restaurant appears to be a reliable option. Additionally, their chicken wings have also received positive feedback, being described as "pretty good." While simple, they are still considered tasty, indicating a solid preparation that might appeal to those craving this popular appetizer or side dish.

However, it's important to note that not all dishes receive the same level of praise. One reviewer mentioned not liking their noodle dishes. This suggests that while Win's Restaurant excels in certain areas like fried rice and wings, their noodle offerings might not be as strong or to everyone's preference. If noodles are your primary choice when dining at a Chinese restaurant, you might want to consider this feedback or perhaps inquire about specific noodle dishes that might be recommended.

Beyond the fried rice and wings, another customer highly recommends their "full soy sauce chicken," describing it as "so moist and delicious." This suggests that Win's Restaurant has a knack for preparing poultry dishes, with the soy sauce chicken being a standout item that is flavorful and tender. This could be a signature dish worth trying if you appreciate well-cooked and seasoned chicken.

The "red tofu with pork" is another dish that received positive feedback, noted for being "tasty with a nice gravy that goes well with white rice." This indicates that Win's Restaurant also offers flavorful dishes featuring tofu and pork, with a well-matched gravy that enhances the overall taste and pairs well with a staple like white rice. This suggests a balanced and satisfying dish that combines different textures and flavors.

For those looking for vegetable options, the "garlic pea sprouts" were praised for having "plenty of flavor and not too oily." This is a significant positive, as Asian-style vegetable dishes can sometimes be overly oily. The flavorful and not-too-oily preparation of the garlic pea sprouts suggests a healthy and tasty side dish option at Win's Restaurant.

In terms of service, one reviewer described it as "ok, not too bad on the wait time." This suggests that the service is generally acceptable and that customers are not typically faced with excessive delays when waiting for their food. While not explicitly lauded as exceptional, "ok" service implies a satisfactory level of attentiveness and efficiency.

The pricing at Win's Restaurant is considered "ok" or "reasonable," as indicated by one reviewer who summarized the restaurant as offering "quality items at reasonable prices." This is a significant draw for many local users who are looking for good food without breaking the bank. The combination of quality in certain dishes and reasonable prices makes Win's Restaurant an attractive option for regular dining.

One potential drawback mentioned in the reviews is the difficulty in finding parking sometimes. This is a common issue in many urban areas, including parts of San Francisco. If you plan to drive to Win's Restaurant, be prepared that parking might require some patience or searching, especially during peak dining hours.

The mention that Win's Restaurant is "under new ownership" is an important piece of information. New ownership can sometimes bring changes to the menu, the quality of food, the service, or the overall ambiance. While the current reviews provide some insight into the current state of the restaurant, it's worth keeping in mind that the experience might evolve under new management. The positive feedback on specific dishes suggests that the new ownership is maintaining or even improving upon certain aspects of the restaurant.

The reviews do not provide specific details about the environment or ambiance of Win's Restaurant. It is likely a casual, neighborhood eatery catering primarily to locals. Similarly, there is no information about takeout or delivery services, although it is common for Chinese restaurants to offer these options. Local users interested in takeout or delivery should contact the restaurant directly to inquire.

Likewise, there is no mention of any promotional offers, lunch specials, or other discounts. To find out about any such promotions, local users would need to contact Win's Restaurant directly via phone or visit their location.

In conclusion, Win's Restaurant on Taraval Street in San Francisco offers quality Chinese dishes, particularly their fried rice (chicken), chicken wings, and full soy sauce chicken, at reasonable prices. The service is generally acceptable, and the restaurant is under new ownership. While some noodle dishes might not be preferred and parking can sometimes be challenging, the positive feedback on specific items like the soy sauce chicken, red tofu with pork, and garlic pea sprouts, along with the affordable pricing, makes Win's Restaurant a worthwhile option for local users seeking a satisfying Chinese meal. If you are in the area and looking for reliable quality at a good value, Win's Restaurant is a place to consider, especially if you enjoy their highly recommended dishes.

The fried rice (chicken) here is really good. They have wings which are pretty good too. Simple but still good. But don't like their noodle dishes. Service is ok, not too but on the wait time. Prices are ok. Hard to find parking sometimes.

TLDR: quality items at reasonable prices, under new ownership We love their full soy sauce chicken, it is so moist and delicious. The red tofu with pork was also tasty with a nice gravy that goes well with white rice. The garlic pea sprouts had plenty of flavor and not too oily. I would highly recommend the chicken !!

Small restaurant located on Taravel outer sunset. It was my first time eating here and won't be my last! Service was great and friendly. We got a bunch of different dishes, my favorite is their soy sauce chicken. I loved the saltiness of it. They also have some already made Asian savory snacks to go and have duck/cha siu/chicken... My family didn't know they close at 6:30pm and we got there at 6pm. They were very friendly the whole time and we were the last table to leave. My family thought it was weird they were cleaning up and some workers were leaving, we didn't think it's because they actually closed. We thanked everyone at the end and the person chopping the meats at the front was so kind and actually thanked us for coming to support their business 🥺 it was such a cute and wholesome moment. Overall Rating: 10/10

Delicious everything! Got the Peking duck, bbq pork, salt and pepper prawns, chow fun, and much more. Kids were happy, grandma was happy! A low key, no frills place with great food. Our server was so kind and attentive as well. He boxed everything up for us. We will definitely return!
