About Wild Ginger

Wild Ginger is located at 657 Berlin - Cross Keys Rd, Sicklerville, NJ 08081, USA. They can be contacted at (856) 629-6988 or +1 856-629-6988. It is important to note that despite being listed under the category of Chinese Restaurant, the reviews indicate they also offer sushi.

One customer expressed disappointment with the sushi, stating, "We used to love their sushi… what happened?" They described a concerning ingredient as "ground up pink stuff" on all three of their rolls, speculating it might be salmon. They also noted that nothing was "crunchy or spicy as described" and concluded that their order was "not worth the money for sure!"

Another customer reported a negative experience with the service, describing the waitress as "very rude" and seeming like she "didn't wanna be there." They ordered teriyaki chicken, which had "plenty of teriyaki sauce," but were charged extra for a second cup of white rice. They also mentioned that they were "Never brought a plate to the table" to eat their chicken and rice. Despite the place not being busy, they waited "over to half an hour for the check." When they asked for a spoon to eat their rice and sauce, the waitress "walked away and came back 10 minutes later." This reviewer also alleged that the only upcharge was for "a glass of tap water."

Based on these reviews, Wild Ginger in Sicklerville, NJ, appears to have significant issues with both the quality of their sushi and their customer service. The sushi is described as having declined in quality, with unusual ingredients and lacking expected textures and flavors, making it not worth the price for at least one customer. The service is reported as rude and inattentive, with long wait times and potential overcharging for basic items like rice and even tap water. Local users should be aware of these negative experiences when considering this restaurant.

Information about the environment is not detailed in these reviews, which focus on negative aspects of the food and service. Services include dine-in (implied) and likely takeout (common for restaurants), but the reported service quality is poor. Key features, according to the negative reviews, include a decline in sushi quality, potentially rude and inattentive service, slow service, alleged overcharging for rice and tap water, and a lack of basic service like providing plates. No positive features or promotional information are available in the provided text.

We used to love their sushi… what happened? I’m not sure what ground up pink stuff was in or on each of our three rolls(salmon maybe) but nothing was crunchy or spicy as described. I’m sorry this was not worth the money for sure!

First issue I had seems that the waitress didn't wanna be there very rude. Ask for teriyaki chicken. Yes, that there was plenty of teriyaki sauce on the chicken to the bill for a 1/2. A cup of white rice ask for another cup of rice added another $3 to the bill. Never brought a plate to the table. For me to eat the chicken and the rice horn. Place wasn't that busy. Waiting over to half an hour for the check. Ask for a spoon so I could take the rice out of the bowl and the teriyaki sauce and she walked away and came back 10 minutes later. The only thing they did it up charge was a glass of tap water.

READ BEFORE DINING IN!! worst experience i’ve had service wise in a restaurant. was expecting something different. another review mentioned how they feel they would rather not do brown skin dine in, which is how we felt too. lady at the counter stared down my girlfriend and wouldn’t look away, or say anything, but was paying no attention to me which was super weird. i’m white, she’s black. not sure what that was about but can only really assume one thing. first off, i’ve never not tipped a server before, let alone anything under 20-25%. ever. tonight was the first time. our server, Kerry, didn’t check on us once, just pointed to the room when we asked for a table, brought us our water, and brought over our food. that’s it. never came back to refill our glasses, never responded when we would say thank you, and even made a gesture with her hand when she saw we didn’t finish the chips they give. just a weird experience and i don’t plan on coming back here our server was sitting at a table with all the other servers eating and counting the tip jar, while the table next to us’ server would fill our glasses. just seemed like she wanted to leave the entire time sucks because we loved the food here but the service is very underwhelming. felt like we were intruding on them the entire time.

There is a reason this restaurant is packed every night. The crab& cream cheese wontons are the best I've ever had, best served eating in. The general tso chicken is fresh and flavorful. I am a huge fan of their green beans. Their food is never greasy, but will still take care of a hangover. I have been a customer since they opened, and I will drive to pick up no matter how far I live. The interior and atmosphere is absolutely transcendent. It felt like you were in a chic downtown city restaurant, but with reasonable prices. It's perfect for a date night. The best part? BYOB with a liquor store next door. Lately, my husband and I fight over their fried wonton things and home made duck sauce. They are the best I ever had. I love how nothing in this restaurant is greasy. My cousin says they have the best sushi, but I don't eat it. They make it in the dining room in full view of customers. Last night (Friday), I was carrying my toddler and a box of food, so a male employee came to open the doors for me. It was super nice, because they were busy. The women there aren't really nice, but I feel it's a culture thing. Americans seem overly friendly to other cultures. The food is fresh. The atmosphere is cute and clean. It's the best Asian type of restaurant in South Jersey.

I usually love this place! I got takeout today and let them know I was missing a rice (I had 2 large orders and 1 small, but 1 large rice and 1 small). The person at the front argued with me and then proceeded to give me 2 small and an even smaller rice quickly and then dismissed me. There were no sauces with the takeout order. The food was not as good as it usually is. The General tsos tasted more like sweet and sour sauce and the cuts of chicken were not great :/
