About Wicked Wok

Welcome to Wicked Wok, a Chinese restaurant located at 4852 West Byp a, Battlefield, MO 65619, USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Wicked Wok aims to provide Asian-inspired cuisine to the local community. You can contact them at (417) 883-5484 or their mobile number +1 417-883-5484 for inquiries or to place an order. Based on recent online reviews, customer experiences at Wicked Wok are concerning, with significant negative feedback regarding both food quality and customer service, particularly since the owner reportedly began managing the entire operation independently.

One long-time regular customer expressed extreme disappointment with the current state of Wicked Wok. This reviewer, who had been a loyal patron for years (in their own words), stated that the food quality had become a "gamble." More alarmingly, they reported that the customer service had "gone to hell" since the owner started running the entire place alone. This former regular customer detailed feeling unwelcome and like a bother to the staff, which they found unacceptable when spending their "hard-earned money" at the establishment. They drew a comparison to the "soup Nazi" episode of Seinfeld, implying rude and unwelcoming service, but emphasized that the food was not good enough to warrant such treatment. Consequently, this long-time customer declared their departure from Wicked Wok due to the poor customer service, which they noted was no longer what it used to be.

Another customer echoed concerns about the value proposition at Wicked Wok. They commented that if the restaurant offered cheap Chinese food, they would have rated it higher and would likely return. However, they found the prices to be "near the top end," which did not align with their perception of the food's quality. While they described the flavors as "okay" and the components as "good," they ultimately concluded that Wicked Wok offered "cheap Chinese in every way but the actual price." This suggests a significant dissatisfaction with the cost relative to the perceived quality of the food.

Based on these recent and critical customer reviews, we can identify the following significant concerns regarding Wicked Wok:

  • Inconsistent Food Quality: The food quality is described as a "gamble," suggesting a lack of reliability in the standard of dishes served.
  • Severely Declined Customer Service: Since the owner reportedly took over sole management, customer service is said to have "gone to hell," with customers feeling unwelcome and disrespected.
  • Poor Value for Money: Despite okay flavors and good components, the restaurant is perceived as overpriced for the quality of food offered, which is likened to "cheap Chinese."
  • Unwelcoming Atmosphere: Customers report feeling like a bother to the staff, leading to a negative dining experience.
  • Loss of Long-Time Customers: The decline in service has resulted in the loss of loyal patrons who are unwilling to spend their money where they are treated poorly.

The reviews provide negative insights into the current environment and services at Wicked Wok. The description of poor customer service implies a potentially unwelcoming and unpleasant atmosphere for diners. The fact that a long-time regular felt compelled to leave due to the treatment suggests a significant issue with the service culture. The comparison to the "soup Nazi" episode, while hyperbolic, paints a picture of a dismissive and unfriendly environment.

The service model is not explicitly detailed, but the negative comments focus on the interaction with the staff, presumably including the owner. There is no mention of specific services like delivery or online ordering in these reviews, so we cannot confirm their availability. The primary service aspect highlighted is the negative customer interaction.

Features of Wicked Wok, based on the limited and critical feedback, include offering Chinese or Asian cuisine. The flavors of the food are described as "okay," and the components as "good," but these positive aspects are overshadowed by concerns about consistency and value. The fact that a long-time customer perceived a significant decline after the owner took over sole management is a key feature to note.

No promotional information is mentioned in the provided customer reviews. Given the negative feedback regarding service and value, it is unlikely that customers would be highlighting any special offers. Local users interested in any potential promotions at Wicked Wok would need to contact the restaurant directly at (417) 883-5484 or visit their location at 4852 West Byp a, Battlefield, MO 65619, USA, to inquire, although the recent reviews suggest caution.

For local users in Battlefield, MO, the recent reviews for Wicked Wok present a concerning picture. The issues raised by multiple customers regarding inconsistent food quality, severely declined customer service, and the perception of being overpriced for the quality offered should be taken into serious consideration. The loss of a long-time regular due to feeling unwelcome is a particularly strong indicator of potential problems with the dining experience. If you are looking for a reliable and welcoming Chinese restaurant that offers good value for money, the recent feedback suggests that Wicked Wok may not currently meet these expectations. It would be wise to weigh these negative experiences heavily before deciding to patronize this establishment.

In conclusion, Wicked Wok in Battlefield, MO, has received recent negative feedback concerning inconsistent food quality and a significant decline in customer service since the owner reportedly began managing the restaurant alone. Customers have also expressed concerns about the prices being too high for the perceived quality of the food. The reported unwelcoming atmosphere and disrespectful treatment are serious issues that have led to the loss of long-time patrons. Local users should be aware of these recent experiences when considering dining options in the area. Given the strong negative sentiments expressed, it may be prudent to explore other Chinese restaurants in Battlefield or Springfield, MO, that have received more positive and consistent reviews.

Food is a gamble and customer service has gone to hell. Ever since the owner has started running the whole place by himself. I have been a regular here for years the owners words. But I simply refuse to spend money at a local business who makes you feel unwelcome and a bother to even be there. Occasionally food is still decent but refuse to be treated with disrespect when I am spending my hard earned money at this place of business. Reminds me of the sienfield episode soup Nazi, but the food is not close to good enough to be treated like that. Long time customer gone. Good an customer service no longer what it used to be to be.

If it were cheap Chinese food, I would rate it higher, and would definitely be back, but it came at a price near the top end. The flavors are okay, the components are good, it's cheap Chinese in every way but the actual price.

Its solid Asian food. There aren't any fancy options, but they are reliable for having Springfield Chinese food for a reasonable price. The portion sizes do seem to have gotten smaller since covid.

food was good! i had the pineapple chicken which had a good sauce with it that complemented the sweet of the pineapple. i liked that the chicken was not breaded and a variety of veggies. there was enough for me to have 2 meals. came with 2 crab rangoon (thick shell) and 1 egg roll. i would go again!
