Based on customer reviews, the atmosphere at Weng's Garden is described as resembling a "standard Chinese restaurant." One reviewer noted that there was "nothing good or bad to say here," suggesting a typical and familiar setting for those accustomed to Chinese dining establishments. Another customer mentioned a "nice large fish tank occupied by a beautiful fish" upon entering, which could be a pleasant and unique decorative element. However, this same reviewer also felt that the interior "may need some updating and a little background music." Overall, the environment seems to be functional and familiar, though perhaps not particularly modern or elaborate. It appears to be a comfortable space that has served the community for many years.
The service at Weng's Garden receives generally positive feedback. One customer who stopped by for a quick dinner noted that the service was "quick" and that they "weren’t waiting long at all." This reviewer also described the employees as "efficient and tentative," indicating a prompt and attentive service experience. Another customer, during their first visit, mentioned being "welcomed by one of the owners," suggesting a personal touch and a sense of local ownership. This positive feedback on service indicates that Weng's Garden strives to provide efficient and welcoming hospitality to its patrons.
The food at Weng's Garden appears to have a somewhat varied reception among customers. One reviewer described the food as "standard" and "more on the darker side, kind of burnt or overcooked in some aspects." This suggests that consistency in food preparation might be an area for potential improvement. However, this same reviewer found the "dumplings were good" but noted they were "way too much dough." On the other hand, another customer who ordered appetizers, soups, and four entrees to share family style had a more positive experience. They found the "fried items were crisp and delicious, not greasy one bit," and praised the "accompanying sauces" for adding greatly to the dishes. This reviewer also noted that "the meats were cooked beautifully and the plentiful vegetables were cooked perfectly." The significant difference in these two reviews highlights the importance of individual preferences and potentially the variability in dish preparation.
A notable feature mentioned in one of the reviews is the option for "family style" dining, where multiple dishes are ordered and shared among the group. This suggests that Weng's Garden is accommodating for group meals and encourages a communal dining experience. The reviewer who dined family style also commented on the generous portions, stating, "We barely put a dent into all we ordered so brought some home for another meal." This indicates that Weng's Garden offers substantial portion sizes, which can be a significant draw for customers looking for value and leftovers.
Another feature of Weng's Garden is its long-standing presence in the Apollo community, with the owners having been at the same location for 20 years. This longevity often suggests a degree of local support and a consistent offering that has resonated with the community over time. While one reviewer mentioned that Weng's Garden "wouldn’t be my first choice," they also acknowledged that "Apollo natives have a following towards this establishment." This indicates a loyal customer base within the local area, which speaks to the restaurant's established presence and appeal to many residents.

Stopped at Weng’s in a pinch to pick up dinner on my way home from a busy day. It wouldn’t be my first choice, but I’m always open to trying new places. Apollo natives have a following towards this establishment. Food was standard, more on the darker side, kind of burnt or overcooked in some aspects. Dumplings were good, but way too much dough for me. Very heavy on the dough. Service was quick, I wasn’t waiting long at all. Employees were efficient and tentative. Atmosphere resembles your standard Chinese restaurant. Nothing good or bad to say here. My recommendation is to plan a visit and try for yourself. I am trending on the once is enough side, however your opinions may be different.
Our first visit to Wengs Garden. We entered and we're greeted by nice large fish tank occupied by a beautiful fish. Although the inside of the restaurant may need some updating and a little background music, we were welcomed by one of the owners. We ordered appetizers, soups and 4 entrees to share family style. The fried items were crisp and delicious, not greasy one bit. The accompanying sauces were very nice and added greatly to the dish they accompanied. The meats were cooked beautifully and the plentiful vegetables were cooked perfectly. We barely put a dent into all we ordered so brought some home for another meal. The owners have been in this spot for 20 years. I'm already looking forward to dining there again soon.
It is the BEST Chinese food in the area. It beats all nearby competition in both price, quantity, AND quality. I've gone repeatedly, my entire family adore the food. Dining in is especially lovely, beautiful atmosphere, amazing service, and the phenomenal helpings of food
We love Chinese! Especially the seafood delight and rice noodles with shrimp. It hits the spot every time! Close to home and very good 👍. Staff is always so nice and fast to get your order.
